Kaz Sushi Bistro
Great service and the Sushi is fresh and made to perfection.
We had a lovely restaurant week dinner at Kaz. It was our second time dining there, and just as good as the first. The food is fresh and well prepared, and the service is impeccable.
The food is incredible!!!! Great variety even for someone who is allergic to shellfish, the staff is lovely and very helpful and it was a great time to sit at the sushi bar and see the chefs at work
Excellent fish. The "Napoleon" is superb. Highly recommended.
I would definitely return! We had a great time nice selection!
We visit Kaz's every time we come to Washington, and have never been disappointed.
The best sushi restaurant in DC, in my opinion. We go back at least twice a year for special occasions. The waiter (Henry?) was attentive and discreet. The food excellent. Just a pleasure to revisit. Only the purse suffers :-)
Best sushi I’ve had in my life!!! The staff was extremely nice and the sushi was out of this world. I took my boyfriend who is well versed in sushi said he had some of the best sushi he’s ever had.
phenomenal service and excellent food combine to make the best sushi experience in dc
Ordered the Omakase and it was one of the most delicious sushi experiences I have ever had. Very fresh and great variety of flavors. Also enjoyed the flight of sale!
The waiter verified ingredients for my allergy and everything was freshly made. We loved the bento box and the spicy California roll!
Excellent food and service. As with most good Japanese quite pricey
Outstanding as always. All the way around. Great food and excellent service! A must when in DC.
It was a great place to go and the service staff was amazing...I just think I’ve had better sushi at a place sooo much cheaper. And I’ve had a lot of sushi in my life. I just don’t think it was worth the price.
Still a winning restaurant. Service was lovely
Great variety; very fresh
We had an absolutely perfect evening! The service along with everything we tasted was exceptional!
Amazingly fresh, I am visiting from Hawaii and was blown away by the quality.
Simply the food wasn't good for the price. Honestly, Sushi Taro was much Better
The food, service, and ambiance are outstanding. We celebrated a birthday, and as always, were not disappointed. The fish (sashimi, sushi) were so fresh, and Chef Kaz is a master at creating new and innovative dishes from traditional ingredients. We would recommend the restaurant to new and repeat customers without reservation.
Wonderful service and food
Best sushi I have had in DC. The waiter was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations for drinks and sushi. Highly recommend the chefs choice!
Amazing! The food quality was outstanding, we will definitely be back
Dinner was awesome & service was exceptional.
We wanted to go to a new sushi place so thought we would give this a try. Ordered the large omakase which was delicious, but was very full by the end the last couple plates - which was disappointing because the sushi dish was the second to last one. The food tasted fresh. The waiter made a great sale recommendation and kept up a humorous persona through the dinner. Overall a decent experience and would recommend.
Hands down the freshest sushi I’ve had in DC in a long time. Way better than the overpriced stuff around town.
Harris was amazing! He made our time very special. It was my sisters birthday and he was sure to take care of us. The food was very good and fresh! Highly recommend. Thank you Harris!! We will be back
By far the best sushi experience, ever!
Birthday meal with friends. The restaurant treated me to dessert
The sushi tastes fresh, always delicious. Other small plates like the noodles with peanut sauce or the brussel sprouts are also wonderful!
First visit to Washington from London and a colleague recommended Kaz Sushi. It did not disappoint. The service was attentive, but unobtrusive and the advice on what to eat and drink was incredibly helpful. The ambience was great. The Hakkaisan (6oz) sake was light and flavoursome, the Matsutake Soup fragrant and delicious, followed by one of the set sushi and sashimi 9 piece menus - a real treat. Well done Kaz Sushi - do please check this place out.
As always, the food was extraordinary and the service was impeccable. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
A classy sushi place. A real haven from the hustle and bustle of the busy street outside. Sushi is consistently good. Elegant surroundings and prompt and courteous service.
The fish is so fresh! It is expensive but well worth it in my opinion. The taste of the sushi is definitely more on the authentic side than it is fusion. If you are huge on fusion style of flavor explosion, this may not be the place for you. This place exceeds more in simplicity and authenticity. Good sushi should not need a lot of flavor embellishments in order to taste good which Kaz Sushi Bistro exemplifies. Do not expect to feel "full" unless you plan to spend a lot of money; this is a great place for providing very good food to the "satiated" level which is just perfect. As for service, just expect it to be slower on the weekend. Unfortunately, I was just in a hurry to pay my bill. I will definitely come back on a more calm day. Go to Kaz Sushi Bistro with patience and enjoy every morsel. :)
All the food was extremely high quality and delicious! The waiter’s recommendations were very good.
Awful experience with maitre'd (he said his name was Mike). Upon checking in, the maitre'd (Mike) said that our reservation did not appear on his computer. I showed him the reservation confirmation on the OpenTable app on my phone. Yet, he continued to challenge whether I had a reservation because the app did not show my name on the reservation. In fact, the app does not show your name on a reservation, presumably because it assumes that the reservation is associated with the owner of the account! I then showed the maitre'd an email confirmation--with my name on it. Still, he challenged the existence of my reservation and asked that I be seated in the waiting area until a table became available. I was fine waiting for a little while, as the restaurant was busy. However, I thought it appropriate to let the maitre d' know that I did not appreciate him telling me that I did not have a reservation when clearly I did. I was so annoyed by the whole incident that we decided to leave the restaurant. Rather than apologizing for his profuse rudeness, the maitre d' encouraged us to leave.
We have been going to Kaz for lunches and dinners since the early 2000s. On every occasion (until now) the food and service have been among the best in DC. This incident has left a bad taste in my mouth. No customer--especially loyal customers--should be treated in this manner.
Extremely fresh sushi, and very affordable date night. The waitresses are very helpful on recommendations. We will definitely be back!
Really good sushi. Will be back!
