Kaz Sushi Bistro
Horrible experience. Planned a lovely Valentine’s date that was ruined by too close tables, slow service, and low quality food. Napkins were dirty when we sat down. Sad because we were excited to try this location. Would not recommend.
Valentines Day dinner. Very nice ambiance, calm vibe and cozy. Able to have a nice intimate dinner with my wife.
They had a preset menu, which was a 5 or 6-course meal, and apart from the 3rd entree with Scallops, everything was excellent. I’d say for a quick Valentines Day date night, it was all you would want without having to go overboard with accolades, and well worth it. I also just love Kaz, the ambiance is always very chill, service is good, and the food is really good.
The food is consistently great. The price is definitely perfect for the food. Very fresh good ambiance.
We ordered the daily special sushi and it was all fresh and delicious.
Excellent fresh fish and even their sushi with the different accoutrements is excellently delicate, fresh and flavorful. Nice Decour great place for friends family and romantic dinners
Yes I would and note the low noise level as many DC restaurants are too noisy
Excellent sushi (nigiri and maki) and sashimi, as always. Delicious dessert. And particularly great service!
Still one of my favorite sushi places in DC. It's not an every-day place with the price tag, but when you want very, very good seafood, clever presentations and flavor combinations in a laid-back setting, Kaz is absolutely a good place to go.
Varied, interesting food, with some unusual combinations.
Good service, pleasant efficient service, quieter than most places on a Friday night.
Excellent, fresh fish
The best Japanese food in DC
Amazing experience! Such great sushi, staff and the owner was incredible!! Highly recommend!!!
I find that I must restrain myself from, and show decorum by not, ordering three orders of Kaz’s New Zealand green mussels dish all at once. I generally succeed by limiting myself to two orders - that is, a total of eight large delicious mussels that simply not enough! I met a friend there on Thursday night, whom I hadn’t seen in years. Naturally, I ordered the NZ green mussels thinking I would have all four to myself. My friend helped herself to one. Mid-sentence, as she inhaled the exquisite flavor, all she could utter was “Oh, oh! OMG!” and was quiet for 30 seconds while I sadly absorbed the fact that I had been deprived of a quarter of my treasure. Oh well. I love this place. Besides the NZ green mussels, the rest of the food is absolutely delicious and well worth many visits.
Great! Our waitress suggests some great rolls! Couldn’t be happier!
Two of us arrived at 5:45 when the dining room was mostly empty. We promptly ordered our sushi and sashimi, but it took almost 30 minutes to get our food. By that time the dining room was filling up and our waiter was very busy. After 20 minutes of waiting, I asked our waiter when we could expect our food, and the waiter briskly told me our food would be right out. It came out 10 minutes later. I don't normally write reviews, but the second person I was with was my 7 year old son who patiently waited even though he was very hungry. We had to quickly eat our sushi, not something I was thrilled about since I spent $75 on it, in order to catch our bus to get home. An hour at a sushi restaurant from 5:45 to 6:45 should have been more than enough time to have a pleasant meal. Apparently here that isn't the case.
The service was amazing and the food too! This is a place you must go if you like sushi!
Great sushi - welcoming staff - atmosphere not too casual and not too stuffy - priced right.... makes this our go-to sushi place in DC
Harís is amazing . He selected the best for us
Really good Sushi although service has been somehow slow. Great place for business meetings or just to relax after the day at work
Excellent, as always. And it was a nice, unexpected surprise to find they’d extended “restaurant week,” resulting in a terrific bargain.
Outstanding sushi restaurant. A gourmet delight. Head and shoulders above the rest. The service was perfect, the entire experience was flawless. We’ve eaten at fine Japanese restaurants all around the world, and Kaz counts as one of the very best.
Definitely is a great sushi place! Went during Restaurant week 2019 and it was an amazing meal! 100% recommend.
Expensive. Very small portions. Rolls very tiny and could hardly taste the fish in the tuna roll or salmon roll . Sashimi pieces were paper-thin
I’ve been a devotee of KAZZ Sushi Biestro for the last three to four years.
KAZZ IS ALWAYS WONDERFUL, CONSISTENTLY GREAT.
Hotel-lobby feel. Food was good but ambiance was severely lacking.
Every trip trip to Kaz is consistently outstanding! From the moment we walk in until we step out, the service, food, attention to detail exceed expectations. On this occasion, it was restaurant week. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu details. 5Stars all around!
Highly recommend! Kaz is improbably a favorite for both my sushi-loving husband and my fish-averse self. They do a fabulous job on sushi, offering both classic and unusual options. And the other dishes are amazing as well - with great service.
As always this place always delivers. The best sushi restaurant in DC, hands down.
Food quality seems to have deteriorated from the last time I was there. Hope it improves.
We have been going to Kaz for over ten years and it keeps getting better somehow. This was our best sushi meal ever.
Best sushi experience in DC, hands down. Been going here for 17 years
Outstanding...a must when in the DC area!
We had a wonderful Saturday night dinner. Kaz was most helpful in helping us select our Saki and dinner items. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. We will be back! Thank you Kaz!
We have come to Kaz for about six years for reliably excellent sushi, great service, and a creative menu. The sushi is as good as it gets; other spots in DC are as good but none reliably better and Kaz always has something seasonal and fresh from Japan, Hawaii, etc. Highly recommend Kaz.
It is always an excellent experience having dinner at Kaz!
Kaz serves the freshest and best sushi in dc and locals know it!
Great food and service. We especially liked the miso salmon collar special!
