I came into eat by myself before a show tonight, had a really good time! Everyone was very friendly, the hostess and my main server especially (wish I could remember their names). I started with the seaweed salad, very nice. Flavorful and crunchy. Loved that. I was a little bit disappointed with the spicy tuna crispy rice, something I’ve heard this place is known for. Just kind of felt like it lacked flavor, though not terrible. Then had some delicious hamachi sashimi, as well as a couple pieces of uni. Both of which were absolutely delicious. Loved both of these so much. Oh and check out the cocktail list, some pretty nice drinks in there. I had the one with mezcal, cucumber and green chartreuse, though I don’t remember the name. Overall very pleasant experience, would definitely recommend!!

The music was too loud, making it impossible to hav a conversation with my tablemates. And waitor kept ordering wrong food, becasue the music too noise to hear. The food was not fresh and overly salty, leading to constant fringking of water. The wait for the waitor was too long due to undestaffing and busyness. The abundance of confuisng rules and regulations made me feel constrined. One attempt was enough; no second time.

Been here several times. If you come early the service is excellent. Around peak dinner time it gets super super loud and busy. Hard to get seated even with a reservation. Overall fun place but they might need to work on speed of service during peak time. Food is very good.

I absolutely love coming here with friends or family members, especially during birthdays or bachelorette celebrations. The staff is amazing from the super friendly Hostess Stephanie to the amazing wait staff. Super helpful when recommending gluten-free options as well.

I’ve been to Katsuya in LA hundreds of times. This one is nice but very different. Ambience is nice, baked crab hand rolls are pretty good (nothing compares to the little izakaya in Los Angeles), spicy tuna crispy rice was awesome, and service was boring.

Food initially brought out quickly, but waitress then disappeared and no one covered our table. We had to chase down servers multiple times to order dessert/coffee/tea (& restaurant wasn’t crowded). It was my friend’s birthday, and booked as birthday dinner. The original waitress said she would do something special for it, but since she disappeared, nothing happened.

Minarni was a great server. Started with Pop Rock Shrimp. Entrees Spicy Tuna Maki roll ,Baked Crab Handrolls and Rock Shrimp Tempura Roll. Everything was amazing. Some Tito's , Echigo Red Ale and Orions made for a wonderful evening. Thank you.

Took clients to a business lunch during a conference at Javits. Easy walk from Javits, staff was extremely accommodating - we were a little late due to gathering people, and then had to switch tables after apps arrived because a few more people showed up. Staff was outstanding - extremely accommodating. Food was outstanding, table and ambiance were perfect. I will go there again with clients. Highly recommend

Having dined at Katsuya in Studio City many times, we were hoping for a similar experience at Katsuya Group’s Manhattan West restaurant. Sadly that was not the case. We tried to order the albacore with onion and the yellowtail carpaccio, both of which they had ‘just run out of’. How does a sushi restaurant run out of fish at 7:15? The positives: Shishitos were excellent and the Manhattan roll was good, baked crab hand roll was enjoyable, tuna sushi was decent. Sadly the crispy rice w/spicy tuna - a ‘signature dish’ - was overly puréed so there was no sense of spicy tuna, just mush. The rice wasn’t great - didn’t really hold together, and there was an overall abuse of rice vinegar in everything. Somebody needs to take a trip to LA and see how it’s done properly.

Food can be very good but some portion sizes are not worth it. We ordered the lobster tempura and was given 5 bite size pieces that was not worth the price. The sushi rolls are great. The Brussels sprouts are one of our faves. It’s a good meal but not amazing

The food is always great here, but the service on this occasion was subpar. It took forever for a server to come over and acknowledge us — in fact we had to calm one over. Our initial drinks too long to arrive. I asked for our meal to be paced out and all the apps came at one. Our 2nd round of drinks were forgotten until the server was reminded — both of the drink not arriving and what drink was ordered. It didn’t take away from the meal but it didn’t add to it either. I will say the staff bringing our meal and bussing were great!

Went there for my boyfriend’s birthday. The food was great and the atmosphere is chill. They wrote Happy Birthday on his dessert and I didn’t even have to ask. It was special.
