Very cool DJ, very fresh sushi
The hostesses are very rude . They obarely aknowdlege you when you come. Making us wait for over an hour for a table with a reservation is crazy.
Overall a fantastic experience! We requested a patio table and Kristin found us the perfect spot. This did increase our wait time but it was worth it. Food was great, service fast and friendly, setting was perfect! Four stars for service only because I'd like to not have to cash out at the bar prior to heading off to the table-just have the tab follow. No biggie but just would like that convenience. Four stars for value because just about everyone wished prices never went up. Five stars everything else. Five stars overall. Thanks for a great evening.
Very good food and drinks
Everything is so fresh
Not even pricey
It was my anniversary and we had a wonderful table with great service and a surprise dessert. Made us feel so special, we will come back again for sure!
It’s always a great time at Katana! The decor, the food, & the staff are all amazing!!!! This restaurant is hands down in my top 3 of best restaurants that I have ever frequented.
The food is amazing and the service is good. It's not as busy during the weekday so you can truly enjoy an intimate dining experience. There is a huge patio for those feeling more social and of course bar seating.
Great place, great food, great vibe. One of our favorite places to go.
The lobster noodles were unbelievably good and the chocolate lava cake was almost too good to be true. I loved every bit of it. I also really liked our waitress. She was attentive, kind, and had a very warm presence.
Very chill and comfortable setting
Had to wait 30 mins even with a reservation
food was amazing, service was great, atmosphere was great
Crowd was loud and almost fight broke out in dining area, took away from the dining experience
I just love katana food and drinks🙂
This place never disappoints! Great dinner, with a great table on the patio - Thanks!
Made last minute plans with a friend for an early dinner. Great food, great service, great people watching. Gets really loud so not the best for conversation - but definitely lots of fun. Love this spot.
The food at KATANA is always good… This time seem to be outstanding… We enjoyed a bunch of appetizers (including healthy ones like green beans eggplant and salad) and delicious drinks. They have a cucumber margarita at that rocks!
Had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday here. We originally sat inside and didn’t love it so we asked to moved outside, they were very accommodating and we had a great time outside. The food and service were outstanding.
Amazing food amazing experience
Love this restaurant, I have to eat here every time I’m in West Hollywood. The food is great and the ambience is perfect for romantic dates. The blond male bartender is the best! Remembers my drink and takes great care of me.
Over priced, very low quality food. Presentation is also below average for this price range restaurants.
Katana has always been our family favorite. However when it’s packed ITS PACKED!! Service does tend to not be as good and the seating and food take forever. Still worth it though!!
Let me start off with, Eric is one of the best servers that Katana has (I don’t give out praise like that easily) but he deserves it, ask for him, he seriously will keep your food coming and you smiling🙂. Now let me say the food as always is so yummy, like whatever they do to the the sea bass screwers I’m here for it every time. I always start off with the yellow tail, and though it was yummy and came out super fast, I would never serve any dish before water has been served at the table, especially a spicy dish. That was not Eric’s fault at all, actually I have no ideas who’s fault it was, I’m saying I would never do that. After that, everything else was smooth sailing, the shrimp tempura came out hot and perfectly cooked, the Wagu skewers are always savory and juicy. I ended my meal with a spicy tuna roll and the cucumber salad, actually I ended it with cake and it made my whole evening. Katana is still one of my go to place, for any celebration, friends or family in town, or just a bite out solo to people watch. Let me also say that the host were all amazing, and Kyle, who is a server as well, I think really was on top of everything...
My date and I had a great time. The food was fantastic. The service was just as good. My slight objection was the food was inconsistent when it came out. Some items came out right away whereas other took a bit. Nevertheless I would highly recommend this restaurant. I'll definitely be back.
Love the place. One of my favorites places to eat or just hang
A strawberry lemonade should not cost $10. If there is a reservation made, you also should have to wait an extra 20 minutes to be seated. Some people complained about waiting longer. The food was great, the overall atmosphere was great. Regular drink prices are horrible. I’ve never paid that much for a lemonade anywhere.
Nice place always busy, Waite time for our table was 30 minutes and the bar was packed
Over an hour and half wait despite a reservation - and our anniversary table wound up being a counter seats (despite reassurances that they’d have the “perfect” table for us) - worst dinning experience of my life
Despite making reservation I had to wait 40 minutes for a table. I know it is a crowded Friday night but it does not make sense if one has a reservation. But as always the food is good. Because it was so busy that the service is lacking.
Food was not great
Great food great service, willl be back.great people watch
Amazing restaurant. The wagyu is amazing, as is the filet, lobster and bacon shrimp. The atmosphere is very cool, modern and good music. Patio is probably the best place in the house. Definitely going back when I visit LA.
Best Japanese restaurant. Amazing. Tuna in fried rice is amazing so fresh.
The sushi is barely adequate, or it's fine, depending on your taste, I guess. A lot of the modern style BS - sashimi with garlic oil and salmon with way too much oil and much truffle. That sort of thing. The toro sushi I did have was okay. If you've ever had toro where your eyes rolled back in your head, this isn't it. I like very traditional sushi though, so sushi rolls covered in fried onion chips isn't my thing. I will say however that every seared meat skewer my wife had was stunning. It I ever go there again (and with so much great dining in L.A., it's doubtful I will) I'll just go for the grilled skewers. Both the king crab and the sea bass skewers were truly exception. So Katana is a mixed bag, basically. Noisy, but it was a Friday night. Not a romantic date spot, but okay for a group.
They overbooked and waiting over an hour to get sat down. Our rsvp were at 10:30pm and we didn’t not get seated until 11:45pm.
