French
Arriving in the United States in 2001, Émé made his way to Los Angeles as Executive Chef at the highly revered L’Orangerie where he challenged perceptions and French cooking technique by renouncing cream and butter sauces in favor of complex layered emulsions and natural jus. In 2005, Émé embarked on his first solo Los Angeles venture and opened the critically lauded Ortolan on West Third Street, where he showcased his impeccable haute cuisine. Shortly after Ortolan debuted in 2005, Émé was honored by Food & Wine as one of the “10 Best New Chefs” and subsequently earned a Michelin star in 2007. After setting a higher standard for the next generation of French restaurants, Émé is now moving in a new direction by introducing KASS Wine Bar + Restaurant.

We were there for 2h 30 min. Waited for 2 hours to be seated and get our food.
Just the dessert took an hour to be served.
Need a lot of improvement.

This place exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and the wine list was amazing. Every price point you could imagine. The server was lovely. You could actually hear the conversation which was awesome.

Kass Wine Bar definitely stand to its outstanding French culinary and a birthday celebration.
Chef Christophe E’me’ is creating each plate with love and tasteful ingredients.
Potato Gnocchi swirl with mushroom is delight, braised beef cheek in wine is so French and caramelized kumquats with touch of yogurt took it to another level.
Great choice of red wine, should got a bottle to take home.
A true love of food experience!
I would definitely be back again very soon and looking forward to try the apple pie which need to be ordered 45 minutes in advance, wish I knew.
Love the ambiance and decor, simple but yet sophisticated.
Sharona Pony.

We are very happy that Kass came to our neighborhood. We have dined there 3 times and I enjoy the vibe but Saturday night was really off! There are only a couple of foods that I really dislike and Gnocchi is one one them. I completely avoid it. I ordered the most expensive entree on the menu (aged NY steak). It is supposed to come with mashed potatoes but the chef ran out because another table ordered a side of mashed potatoes. He actually put what I hate most as a substitute! Dreaded gnocchis!!!
Chef looked really stressed so I let it be but I was very disappointed in presentation and substitutions without asking me first!

We had a marvelous time dining here the other night. The staff here truly is attentive, professional and kind. The food was truly remarkable and was prepared with perfection. My husband had the sweetbread and I had the lamb shank. Both of these dishes were incredibly delicious and prepared perfectly. The lamb was so tender and fell off the bone. Yummy! What a great new addition to the neighborhood! We will most definitely be back!

The Somm, wine, and food were absolutely spectacular. Our server was fine, but compared to the rest of our dining experience, she was mediocre at best. When asked about a specific item on the menu, she basically read the menu back to us and made several mistakes and spills during the course of the meal. Nitpicking her, she was lovely. The Somm was knowledgable and approachable and made an excellent wine recommendation. The seating between tables is close, and our noisy/drunken neighbors were very loud, so conversation across the table was difficult at times. Every bite was incredible, and we had the best oysters of our lives. Strongly recommend.

Nice atmosphere. Quality food. Flavors a bit subdued but the seafood was very fresh. Cod was fresh but not too flavorful. Apple tart could be crispier. Felt good after meal. I liked that it was not super rich and heavy.
