Kaspar’s at The Savoy
A totally relaxing lunch with a friend and treated extremely professionally by all members of the service team.
Jacop our waiter for the day was a very interesting person and had time to explain to us his role within the team and what his work experience entailed. He also managed to intrude us to the Foyer Manager who was able to sort a problem we had with a booking on 12 December. A great day from beginning to the end!
Can’t say enough good things about Kaspars We had a party of 5 and we all enjoyed our evening. The food was all wonderful. The oysters were amazing. Everything arrived at the same time which is important. The champagne was lovely The service was 5* The table we had was perfect to have a real nice catch up without feeling we were to close or disturbing anyone else.
Although this restaurant is beautifully presented and the service is excellent, I could not recommend it to anybody that is vegetarian. When I arrived I asked the lady that showed us to the table for a vegetarian menu and she said that there were vegetarian options on the main menu. The only vegetarian option on the menu was actually a “Cauliflower Steak”. I was with a client and it would not of been professional for me to have kicked up a fuss about the lack of vegetarian options so I decided to go for the cauliflower steak as although I am not overly keen on cauliflower, it was the only option for a main course Although that arrived it was beautifully presented, it literally is just a big piece of cauliflower with a few edible flowers and a few beans. There is no sauce or anything to make it remotely interesting. I could not finish it as it was just too much of the same thing and the taste was becoming overbearing. If I remember rightly this was about £25 which is why I have given the value for money star rating as a one out of five. You could argue that I should’ve looked at the menu before I went but this was actually a work lunch and time didn’t allow. So as a vegetarian I was very disappointed and will not be returning. I will however return to the Savoy for afternoon tea because they do have a vegetarian and vegan option. But sadly I will not return to Kaspar’s
It was my mother’s 80th celebrations and we chose the perfect venue
My poached eggs were first undercooked and then overcooked. Staff not friendly
Unfortunately not the best experience for my husbands birthday. Staff were friendly enough. The restaurant was very cold we were sat next to the window and I suppose could have asked to be moved but did not want to move in the middle of a meal. My husbands starter was fine I had scallops which consisted of 2 scallops on a huge bed of black rice I think. My main fine my husband had Dover sole which was warm at first but was served on a cold plate so became very cold as he was eating it. Not pleasant. No one to mentioning it to while we were eating. Mentioned it to waitress when she came to take the plates away she said sorry I didn’t come back to ask you if everything was ok. The restaurant was very quite so would have had time to do this. Did not bother with deserts or coffee. They did bring a small chocolate with a candle
A lovely birthday lunch, the staff were attentive and charming. A very special occasion which we will remember.
I have only been once before and the food was lovely. Since then I understand there is a new chef. The menu for Sunday lunch is now very small. My food arrived cold and had to be sent back. Our waitress was great but such poor value for money. Very expensive for very disappointing food
We booked because my daughter was fascinated with the story of Kaspar the famous cat - and wanted to see the statue. The Savoy went over and above and allowed Kaspar to join us for lunch - and gave her gifts of two Kaspar plushes. The staff were charming - the food amazing. We had a fabulous time!
My wife and I had received a voucher for dinner at Kaspar's from Dana's brother last Christmas. 10 months later we still hadn't found time to use it and it was about to expire! So we blocked out the diary, booked our baby sitter and got on the tube for an 8pm dinner last Saturday.
I was expecting the worst when presented with the short form set menu (and informed sides would be needed but cost extra!), however the food was excellent. The complimentary bread + smoked salmon pate was delicious, the pigeon delicately cooked, my Guinea fowl was succulent and the chocolate pud was sophisticated hedonistic indulgence. Portions (with a couple of sides) were just about perfect. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with live jazz in the background, although it doesn't quite fully bridge from hotel into restaurant. But of particular note was the service. Of course you expect good service from the Savoy but it really was exceptional - hats off to the whole team. One note of caution: you get what you pay for. This is the Savoy, expect a heavy bill! We had a couple of champagne cocktails, 3x wines by the glass and a glass of dessert wine. All were completely divine but the bill (inc 2x sides + service, but NB food was free) came to £160. That's punchy but we had a great evening and even adding on £40 for the baby sitter we both felt it was worth it and departed highly contented.
Amazing atmosphere fantastic food and th waiting staff were lovely and very helpful
It was a surprise for my sisters birthday and it did not disappoint. Staff were lovely, offered advise and food outstanding, especially the crab starter. Lovely cocktails. We are coming back again as a Christmas treat.
A wonderful evening which was enhance by the brilliant staff and excellent food. Thank you!
A lovely evening delicious food and wonderful staff
Had a lovely dinner post theatre. We had the set menu which was lovely. The staff were very accommodating and gave me an alternative dessert from the chocolate dessert. Would highly recommend.
This is my 4th visit to Kaspars and it never fails to disappoint. Food, service, ambiance is first class.
New and interesting menu but there wasnt a chicken dish . The food was delicious but a chicken option would have been helpful .
Booked a table for 2 for a Monday lunch so did not expect the restaurant to be full but was quite surprised how quiet it was. My wifes birthday was acknowledged very well - thank you to the staff who made it that bit more special.
Came here last Sunday to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. From
The moment we arrived, everything was first class. Immaculate service, beautiful food and we all had a fabulous evening . Beautiful restaurant within the magical Savoy. Highly recommended
We were lucky to get a quiet sunday spot. Lovely serene place to have lunch and a chat with your dearest. Though pricey, the ambience, quality and presentation was superb. Loved the triple cooked potatoes that I ordered with my lobster. It was so filling I had no room for desert. Pleasant and very patient staff too. Can't fault my first visit. I will definitely re-visit and recommend to friends.
We love the Savoy. As a hotel it’s amazing and we like to stay occasionally. For food likewise we like to dine there on special occasions. Kaspar’s is relaxing yet sophisticated with great food and top quality service.
Fantastic, flavoursome food with impeccable service and a nice setting and view. Exceeded our expectations.
Our breakfast was delicious, the ambiance was calm and quiet with excellent friendly service. Just what you’d want for a breakfast experience!
yes we will come again
unfortunately we were not able to have pre there menu
great bottle of argentina wine
Very nice and elegant place but the food wasn’t that good. The fish was terrible and overpriced. Staff were nice but really the food needs major improving especially the fish.
I must admit I was left a little underwhelmed by the whole experience. My breakfast was not hot, given there was a lot of space in the restaurant we were all very cramped as a family of four on a small table. A little bit disappointing to the start of a day out in London.
Had a lovely experience in Kaspars. Sat at the counter which was fun. We had the three course menu, each dish was delicious and the wine was very good. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. All in all a really good evening. Would definitely eat there again.
Excellent meal. Took boyfriend for birthday treat as good choice of sea food. Not so much vegetarian choice for myself but enough, also vegetarian could be made vegan if needed
Actually upset I forgot to tip
Excellent food, welcoming and friendly staff. I and my friend enjoyed a lot and will dine again with more friends next time.
Absolutely fabulous! Fantastic food and amazing staff thank you all for a lovely afternoon.
Excellent breakfast for friends 50th.
All the staff were amazing and so lovely and attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Delicious food, exceptional service with great attention to detail in beautiful surroundings. You get what you pay for!
Yesterday (13/10/2019) at the Savoy (Kaspar's) was by far the best my parents, partner and myself have ever experienced from being helped out of the taxi by the concierge (Porters) to the Breakfast experience in the restaurant. It was truly wonderful. Our waitress Rosalyn was first class and also the professionalism of other staff who were so friendly. I had booked this breakfast treat for my parents celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary. The whole journey from start to finish was magnificent and I can only thank you all for making my parents have such a wonderful morning. The cake presented to them when we finished breakfast wishing them Happy Anniversary just was another beautiful touch. Thank you the Savoy.
Very attentive stuff, however the food was not fantastic. Possibly due to the fact that the menu was “pre-theatre” the burratta salad was tiny, tomatoes not ripened. The wood pigeon was a bit tough to chew. Main courses were fine, though risotto too salty. Deserts- very nice panda cotta and the chocolate peanuts concoction was overly rich and difficult to finish. I don’t think we’ll return, not until the menus is changed.
We love Kaspar's and eat there every time we are in London.
Birthday celebrations was well executed. The whole experience was great from arriving at the Savoy.
The food was delicious, well presented. The presentation had a very artistic flair. The restaurant staff, especially Peter and Jennel went above and beyond.
We would definitely go there again.
Fabulous surroundings & decor. Not ideal for a pre theatre stop as felt rushed & would have liked to enjoy the decor & surroundings.
The setting was perfect, the service faultless and the food excellent. What more could you want?
The one time I come to London and couldn't wait to dine at The Savoy, there was a power outage and therefore our food was never delivered because all the kitchens were closed and no electricity throughout the hotel. Needless to say, I was so sad but I do understand life happens.
