Excellent food coupled with excellent service! Overall a fantastic experience
One word: AMAZING. The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. Bravo! I will definitely be back.
Perfect setting and ambiance for a simple date night. Staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was so satisfying and seasoned to perfection. Thank you Christina and Chris for the great recommendations and service! We will be back!
The food was absolutely incredible. Definitely a place for a special occasion. My partner and I went here for our anniversary and we were not disappointed at all. Every single bite from the first to the lay was outstanding. The service is amazing and the drinks were so delicious. I can’t recommend it enough.
It was such a pleasure to return to one of our favorite restaurants for the first time since the shutdown and it was every bit as great as we remembered. It was very thoughtful to call us before we arrived to see if we wanted to move inside due to the light rain but we were well protected by the table umbrella. Outstanding service. Very helpful with a nut allergy issue. The rose ice cream was one of the best desserts we've ever had. We will be back soon.
Best Indian Food in DC … and great cocktails !!!
The butter chicken at Karma changed my life! And we had a great conversation with the owner, who was a fantastic host. What a cool place.
Great return meal after pandemic restrictions. We had the fixed price lunch which was a excellent value and a great way to share more dishes among friends. The cauliflower and chicken appetizers were particularly delicious, as were the Lamb Roganjosh, Butter Chicken and wild mushroom na'an. The cardomon ice cream was fantastic. Goat is no longer on the menu; hopefully a return to pre-pandemic business levels will lead to its return. The sidewalk dining and service was great too
You get very little food and was not that good
Excellent ambiance and exceptional food! I've been there several times and it never disappoints!
Beautiful string lights and lovely outdoor dining made the night special. The food was divine.
Wonderful meal, excellent service!
The entire experience was superb, excellent service, the food was second to none, and the staff was friendly and professional. We had Mumbai sliders and cauliflower for appetizers and for entrees we opted for prawns, lamb chops, daal, and two types of naan bread. We topped it all off with cardamom ice cream. This was an experience we won’t soon forget. Excellent.
Went for Father’s Day lunch and had an amazing experience! Food, service and ambiance are wonderful.
Great experience. The food reminds me of some high end restaurants in India
The outdoor seating for lunch was great—quiet, private, and easy to access. The food, as always, was terrific, and the service was prompt and friendly.
We dined outside on a beautiful evening. The service was excellent. Very attentive and friendly. They were very welcoming. The manager dropped by the table for chat. The cocktails were unique and I would recommend them. Not a big selection of wines by the glass, but the quality was excellent. Try the Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. We had both ice cream desserts. Cardamon, very tasty. Parking was close. Next time we'll try the tasting menu.
One of the best experiences and best Indian food. I will definitely come back!
The service, menu selections, and quality of the drinks and food exceeded expectations. The flavor profiles were unique, exquisitely fresh & distinct. I will definitely be dining there again! 😉
Every element of this meal was outstanding. I enjoyed the Bronzino, which was accompanied by grilled seasoned brocolini. Even thed mahkani was beautifully seasone
Outstanding food and service. We are vegetarian and all of the dishes we ordered were seasoned perfectly . We shared many sides (eggplant, cumin potatoes, dal, chickpeas) and a couple of entrees (bronzini and chickpea dumplings...amazing) between 5 people and it was plenty.
We tried the Fixed Price 3 course special, which was $65 per person. The first course with appetizers was the best - interesting flavors and well done small portions. The focus was on presentation and less on the quantity of the food. The second course with salmon and lamb chops was good, but nothing to write home about. Again - small portions. The final course with dessert was good, but nothing extraordinary. We did have to order off the menu to get full.
It is a place that has an overinflated sense of the value of presenting food. We go to restaurants to eat, and less to look at food!
Good place to have a family dinner.
Truly horrendous service experience on Mother’s Day. They initially tried to force my 5 year old daughter to order the $100 price fix. The manager was not able to fix the situation and then we waited 35 minutes for dessert. Disaster.
Dear Guest, We appreciate the feedback but would like to clarify the review. Our team ensured that while making a reservation the Mother's day menu price displayed. We also left a VM. We did not charge for your younger child but advised that both your children share one selection since the ala carte menu wasn't available. We checked on food and service after each course and desserts took around 15-20 min. We were told each course was great so how was the service horrendous? Thank you.
We decided to celebrate Mother's Day early and went to Karm on Saturday night. The food was delicious and the service was lovely. Staff wore masks the entire time we were there.
Lack of service
Food was delicious. I would definitely recommend the lobster masala. It was bright and flavorful, you'll definitely feel like you've gotten your money's worth. The cocktails were my least favorite. We should have ordered wine instead.
Excellent Indian fine dining. Great friendly service. Beautiful space.
Three of my good friends celebrated our birthdays today at Karma. We’ve all been there before. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and we partook in the tasting menu. They also gave us a free glass of Prosecco to help us celebrate, which was very kind and we appreciate it.
One of the best and most unique Indian meals I’ve ever had! Elevated interpretations of Indian dishes that still keep the flavors’ integrity at the forefront. The staff is friendly and attentive, the interior space is beautifully inviting, and there’s a great cocktail/wine list. Can’t wait to see more of the seasonal dishes and specials. We will absolutely be back soon!
We had a lovely evening at Karma. Wonderful food and service.
We were in DC for the weekend and had lunch at Karma
Loved the flavors, presentation and service !!
The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable experience. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the drinks were delicious. Overall we were so impressed with our visit and look forward to coming back again!
Came in to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and we had the For The Inquisitive. Well worth the price. Everything was great, but the Tamarind potato sphere was our favorite. The entrees of Brazino, and lamb chops were awesome, and just when we didn’t think things could get any better dessert was a great way to cap the dinner off. This was my friend’s first time having anything other than butter chicken, when it comes to Indian food, now she is hooked.
The service was excellent, Ambiance was amazing, and I would highly recommend to anyone.
The food was amazing, to say the least. Many diners were doing the "For the Inquisitive" menu, which came with four courses. The first course was a small appetizer trio, followed by a second larger appetizer (fennel chicken and pesto paneer were both amazing), followed by a delicious main course (get the lamb chop), and then dessert (cardamom ice cream is a must). Of course, the way to do it is to take a friend and then you can sample everything. The cocktails are also fantastic, but if you're keeping an eye on your wallet, make sure to take note that the drinks, like everywhere in DC, are priced at a premium. However, these cocktails are some of the best I've had in DC, so the price is well worth it. There are lots of fantastic Indian restaurants in DC, but this one really took my meal to the next level.
It is rare to sit down and eat a meal that can truly inspire appreciation of the changes a culture experiences through centuries of its existence. Through its brilliantly and creatively genius take on Indian classics, Karma did that for me. Combined with the excellent service (we had a very knowledgable waiter; the manager himself came and refilled our drinks and ensured our satisfaction as each course was brought out; and we were able to sit along the kitchen and watch the chefs prepare food on the grill), it was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.
Best Indian food we ever had... great ambiance and anniversary recognition... great cocktails
Only negative was upon check presentation with solicitation for tips after charging an automatic 20% service charge... spoiled the amazing experience. Also to go Kulfi small dish much smaller than portion served at the restaurant. No spoon to go.
Michelin star reachable but this needs to be addressed...
The food was amazing
Wonderful ! Great food !
The service was fantastic and the food and cocktails were phenomenal. I would go back just for the cocktails alone! The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Everything we ate from the amuse bouche to our entrees was delicious. We will definitely be returning.
