KAPA Bar & Grill – Marriott, Maui
We had a great evening, service and foods was great!
Very noisy Place. Good food
From the moment we arrived, we received the warmest hospitality. Our server, Callee, made sure our special night was wonderful, as we celebrated the New Year and our engagement. We definitely plan on retuning!
Ordered a medium burger that was cooked well done, for a $22 burger, they slapped 2 pieces of unpeeled iceberg lettuce on a untoasted bun that’s cold and hard. We were seated next to a group of 20 squeezed into a 6 people pool side hangout area. Not a great way to enjoy dinner on New Year’s eve. Service was lacking as our waitress rarely came by to check on us as she was annoyed to service the group of 20 next to us. Overpriced food for mediocre service, great view though!
Lite dinner by the poolside. Evening lit up with fire place and candlelight. Live music with guitarist/vocalist playing nearby. Excellent server who was quick, courteous, and upbeat. Expensive for sure since it was resort food-$25 for a hamburger- but the ambiance and service made it feel like a special night out under the stars
It was a family birthday. The food was ok. Service was very slow. A disappointment for us as we normally like Marriott
Nice setting, lovely views of the Maui sunset and the Wailea Beach Club is beautiful. Food could be a lot better, and don’t be misled as I was by the “$30 and under” words in the OpenTable listing, this is very much a $$$$ restaurant, very very very expensive.
We have had three meals here this week.
Food and service are excellent
It is a casual restaurant with great menu selections and drinks
Wonderful family gathering for Grandpas Birthday
It took 45 minutes from when we ordered our sandwiches to when they arrived. Other diners who arrived after us ordered and completed their meals before us. Server was friendly, acknowledged our anniversary, but didn’t apologize for the slow kitchen.
Not impressed by food or service. Dessert also unsatisfying. Typically over-priced. Convenient hotel location is what drove us to eat there.
Made a 7:45 PM reservation for 5. Ordered our food at about 8:00 PM and it took 45 mins until we were served. The portions were very small, especially for the high cost.
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Staff is very helpful and the location couldn’t be better.
We love sitting poolside at Kapa and enjoying the live music and beautiful sunsets. Delicious appetizers and cocktails if you want a lighter meal. The entrees are wonderful, too. Attentive, friendly servers add to the overall enjoyable experience.
Pretty good food was good.
We were guests at the Marriott Wailea. We had a 7:45 reservation for my husband’s birthday. Wanted something low-key at our resort as we had spent the day on road to Hana. At 7:40 the host from Kapa calls our room and asks if we are keeping our reservation. He then explains that last call for the bar is 8:00 pm. WTF? It’s a bar? So we head down. The host asks who’s having the birthday and I indicate it’s my husband. So he knew. He brought it up. We sat down, ordered our only allowed round of drinks with our free drinks coupons we received at check-in. Our server was polite. My burger was good, my husband’s fish was just OK. We finish eating, they clear and bring us the bill. Server says “the drinks are on me.” Um, no, the drinks were on Marriott. No acknowledgement of the birthday. Such TERRIBLE SERVICE all around. Why do they take 7:45 reservations if the place closes at 8:00? Left as a very UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.
Valerie was awesome. Food was delicious, but it was a little noisy.
On Maui for conference. No food available on lane and starved on arrival to our resort. Had nice meal with excellent poke fish tacos and mahi-mahi sandwich. Few cocktails. Nice welcome to Maui! Great friendly service from Val.
Took an hour from ordering entrees to receiving them. Basic pool food (burgers, etc.) at typical Hawai’i exorbitant prices. Waste of time and money.
We completely enjoyed our evening at Kapa. We dined poolside and had cocktails, an edamame appetizer and delicious sushi. The live music by Alika and Eddee was excellent. And of course, another breathtaking Maui sunset to top it all off.
The food is always good. Service can be slow sometimes and the food is very $$$ for lunch.
Great outdoor dining option with beautiful views of the ocean. Menu is somewhat limited but the Mahi Mahi tacos were excellent. The Chickenbreast was also very good.
Only drawback is they didn’t recognize the special occasion we had listed in our reservation on Open Table.
Food was very overpriced. Attempted “gluten free”, there was minimal options. Dessert was good, but I would go for only dessert not main entree.
Plastic cups for wine that was $47 for 2 glasses of wine.
Should you go... no have 2 meals somewhere else, tastier and better ambiance.
Sorry we went.
Staying at Four Seasons but looking for a casual dining option within walking distance. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and diverse food selection for everyone in party. Beef tacos were outstanding. Server was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.
Made a reservation and when I arrived they sat us in the bar side. Not happy . Our food came out cold and lacking flavor.
We visited this restaurant at a friends recommendation and she was spot on. The food was very good, the ambiance was lovely and they had a local band playing slack key Hawaiian tunes. I thought the price was very good considering the quality of the food, live entertainment and the sunset view of West Maui mountains.
We arrived just before sunset and in time to see the whales playing in the water out front. The restaurant is located overlooking a pool in the foreground and shore just beyond. We had wonderful Mai Tais while we watched the sun go down. Our dinners were fabulous. My husband had the fresh catch of the day, Mahi Mahi, in a lemongrass infused sauce. I chose the Lomi Lomi salmon California roll with a side salad. Both were fabulous. We would go back again tonight and order the same thing. And we would order the same sunset too!
Nice poolside and ocean front view. Service was friendly and prompt. The selection is great for a poolside restaurant. The food was plentiful and tasted great. A great sunset made this a very pleasant experience.
Enjoyed dinner poolside at the Marriott. There was live music in the evening. Local food on the menu. A variety of fish, meats and no meat choices.
Service was subpar, it felt like we were being rushed out even though there were many tables open. We got the coconut shrimp appetizer and it came out very quickly but was raw. We asked for it to be cooked more and they just re-fried the pieces we did not cut into and threw away the ones we did cut in to. Very disappointing.
Entrees were better than the appetizer, but not amazing.
Good place to share different dishes. Social eating at its best.
We had a lovely dinner at Kapa on our last night at the Marriott Resort in Wailea! The view was just beautiful and the food was delicious!
Very disappointing. The once great mahi tacos now use a smaller corn tortilla.
No onion rings on the evening menu but they can make fries!
The fish was ok.
Service was great.
This is a good casual place to grab a bite to eat. The food is pretty good. Enjoyed the poke very much. Service was just so-so.
Typical upscale resort casual bar and restaurant. Good (but not amazing) food and drink with ridiculous pricing.
Ate here on our honeymoon stay at the Marriott
Resort prices as expected. However, the Ahi salad was only OK, not up to resort standards. (Hamburger was overpriced but very good.)
Amazing view of the sunset
They had apparently changed the menu a few weeks prior. The previous menu looked so much better than the current one. Food had no flavor and was a complete waste of our money. Never going back.
