6 food lovers and good home cooks in our group; 5 of us first-timers; none of us vegetarian. All really enjoyed the food and our server. A real pleasure to have a restaurant like this in YEG. Started with Lemon Drop martinis. Shared a variety of plates and the Kimchi Dumplings were the favorite - so beautifully prepared and presented and delicious. Second group favs were the raw pizza then the mushroom soup and zucchini lasagne. This is labor intensive food with a commitment to high quality super food nutrition and artful presentation. We all agreed we'd like to return soon and will recommend to friends and family.

Delicious vegan food! Our faves were the nachos and the gnocchi. Not a big fan of the cacio e Pepe. Can’t wait to try more things on the menu!

The food is tasty, the place is pleasant, the staff are quite friendly, but lunch here always feels a bit overpriced. Recommended, but you shoulf check and be aware of prices beforehand.

Still a great experience and the food is fantastic. I do prefer the presentation of the hummus appetizer from two months ago. It had a lovely “eat the rainbow “ presentation of showcasing the best in vegetables. It had less bread and the smokiness of the hummus while unexpected was very much appreciated. The wine selection even during happy hour was well curated and a great value. Can’t wait to come back here! Staff as always was well versed in the selections.

Such a unique menu with helpful and knowledgeable staff! I was intrigued with many items on the menu which made it hard to decide what I wanted to try; however, the waitress' knowledge of the food and suggestions helped immensely! The waitress was also so quick to cater an appetizer so that it could be more easily shared between my friend and I. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone as it has a cool yet sophisticated atmosphere, while having the most unique food menu of any Edmonton restaurant I've been to!

I got the plant bowl and it was superb! I tried the kimchi dumplings and they were good but I was expecting amazing since all the reviews indicated how great they were. I would avoid the chocolate pecan dessert; it was not worth the calories or the value. The banana cream pie is a safer bet. The place was chic and I enjoyed my dining experience. I would come back again.

I went in and sat down and got water.
But there was something floating in the water. Like someone spitting out.
So I talked to the server, and she saw it and she just said, "Oh.. yeah.."
She took the cup and she didn't water it again.
Since then, she has never been interested in our table.
I went to a restaurant on my friend's recommendation, but I don't plan to recommend it to my friend because I don't want anyone to experience such inconvenience anymore.

We had our anniversary supper there and were so pleased with our experience. The food was very flavourful and delicious. We loved all the gluten free choices. We had the plant bowl, mushroom burger, kimchi dumplings, cheesecake, and creme brûlée. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. We thought it was a very nice touch for her to take the most expensive dessert off our bill as an anniversary present. We would love to go back again and try the other items on the menu.

Dinner for two was $75.00 with one drink, one appie and two entrees. It's was the equivalent of pre-made cafeteria fare that was brought to the table 5 minutes after ordering. The most disappointing thing was the complete lack of flavour.

The service was excellent. Our waitress was able to explain every detail of how everything was prepared. Everything is made in house. The food was delicious from appetizer to dessert. All plant based. Presentation was colorful and fresh with lots of different sprouts and micro greens. I've been on a plant based diet for almost two years now. I've almost given up going out for dinner due to lack of options and then lack of variety and creativity. Kanu has given us a fresh, new hope. Well done Kanu Cafe.

Tables were shoulder to shoulder and you couldn’t have a conversation with whom you were sharing a dinner with . Food was incredibly overpriced and underwhelming. Both my fiancé’s and my dish came out cold and the potatoes were incredibly dry . We would not go back. The value for money was not there .

Kanu is a beautiful cafe and the staff are super friendly. My expectations for the food were a little high compared to what I experienced. I've been a vegetarian/vegan/raw food cook for 30 years and in that time I've come to view food as more than a means to fuel the body, but also as a way to fuel the soul. This is what I was hoping for when I arrived at the Cafe. The portions to price ratio were out of balance, and the dishes I ordered were okay, not amazing. My starter was a mushroom pate with the house made bread. The bread was very nice and the pate was tasty. The "Shepard's Pie" entree was lacking seasoning. The gravy was, for the most part, tasteless. It would have been nice to have a fresh salad served with the main. I ordered the apple dessert and had an interesting time cutting it as it was not baked enough to get a knife through it properly. It almost shot off my plate it was so crunchy. Maybe it was intended to be a semi-raw dessert? The flavors were fine, but would have been much more enjoyable had I been able to cut through it with ease. I might return to experience some of the raw dishes if I can justify the high prices.

High cost for such small portions, left hungry. Booked a reservation on the weekend for lunch (1pm) and could only order from the brunch menu (I even looked online to make sure I wouldn’t run into a brunch menu, but couldn’t find anything stating this). I tried the burger & chocolate cheesecake for dessert, I was not impressed. There are much better plant based restaurants out there with better value for your money. This might be better looked at as expensive “tapas” style restaurant/meal.

Went there based on reviews and found my meal bland and dry, out of seven of us only 2 people said their meal was great and they had ordered the same meal. I have eaten a numerous vegetarian/vegan restaurants and was disappointed. It’s too bad, it was hyped as a high end vegan restaurant and I was really looking forward to it. Cafe mosaic is the choice for me. Ambiance might not be as high end but food is spectacular in comparison. If you ever find yourself in Banff do yourself a favour and visit Nourish. Omg, this place blows the doors off any vegetarian/vegan restaurant I have ever been too. It IS NOT associated with Noorish in Edmonton.

From start to finish a very enjoyable experience. The nachos were a surprise delight... more than I’d normally pay for nachos but so worth it. If I had to pass on one item it would be the cheese plate unfortunately. I’ve had better vegan cheeses elsewhere and there are so many other delicious items on the menu.
