Kamuela Provision Co. Ratings and Reviews
We always make sure to spend an evening at KPC whenever we visit the island. The food and presentation are great, and we find the value very good compared to other resort restaurants. It is wonderful to be able to sit outdoors to enjoy the fabulous view and watch the sunset. Their poke is some of the best I've had. I will definitely return to this restaurant and recommend anyone visiting the Waikoloa area experience it.
I thought that this was supposed to be a 5-star dining experience. Instead it was a slightly upscale TGI Friday's. The food was pretty nice, but the service was indifferent and the ambience was downright disappointing. Also, I took my wife there for her birthday and they did nothing--no recognition, no special greeting, no birthday cake. I had to ask them for a candle to put into her dessert. Overall I think I'm being too generous by awarding 3 stars, because if I consider the cost of this place, it is really closer to 2 stars.
The food is expensive but hey wants not expensive here in Hawaii . There is one watch out. My wife and I each ordered a glass of wine at the bar while our table was being prepared. Each glass was about $14 or $15. At dinner we ordered two more glasses an we both notice that the pour was generous. When our waiter brought the check I noticed the price was $21 a glass. I asked the waiter about this and he said that he assumed we would want a generous pour. I thought that was pretty sleazy. He adjusted he bill and his tip was adjusted as well. This is a very good restaurant that doesn’t need the wait staff trying to pad the check.
The food was passable and the serving staff realized the outdoor space was too cold and moved us inside. That was the best part. The lobster dinner was paltry and an embarrassment as the steak and lobster had a better portion... and included a filet! The waiter forgot our sides until dinner was nearly over and same with our bottle of wine. Generally a poor effort. The value is just not there.
We celebrated my husband's birthday here and had an enjoyable evening. Since it was windy when we first arrived sat at a corner table inside which was comfortable and still had the great view of the ocean and sunset. My husband had the Lilikoi Chardonnay Pear Salad which was a small portion and had a bland taste. He also had the Monchong which he thought was very good. I ordered the special which was the sword fish that I had grilled instead of blackened and really enjoyed it. The best part of the evening was the awesome dessert (Waialua Estate Chocolate Crunch Torte) that my husband was treated to due to his birthday. Yes, the meal including wine was expensive, but worthwhile for a special occasion.
We have eaten at KPC every time we visit the Big Island and we are never disappointed. As usual, the food was delicious and the service was thoughtful, friendly and impeccable. We were celebrating a birthday and the waiter treated us to two fantastic desserts! The view overlooking the gorgeous pacific truly can’t be beat!!
My standards for dining in Hawaii are low, but KPC even managed to go below those. The prices are ridiculously high - this is in the Hilton Waikoloa resort so I did not expect it to be affordable. The prices were so offensive because the food was so bad. The steak with mashed purple sweet potatoes was 50+ bucks, on the small side , and nothing special. The penne with shrimp has a sharp but also so how flavorless sauce. The prosecco (13$) was the only thing vaguely worth it, but it should have been 10 or 11. The mahi mahi wasn’t bad, but the pineapple compote was pointless and the greens underneath were very uninteresting. We were there for Christmas dinner (the reservation was hard to get but there were 20 empty tables when we arrived- why?) so maybe the kitchen was running on junior staff. But even if these dishes were good the prices were just too much for what you get. 200+$ for 3 dinners and one measley glass of wine (cheapest on the menu) - two salads(a lackluster Caesar and a so-so tomato salad). I do not mind paying 200$ for dinner but this was not worth it. Our server was fast and courteous, so maybe in another night this would be better. I will not go back, however.
食事のオーダーは、Keala ola Farm Organuc Caesar , Potato Rosti Cake , Mauka Makai , New York Frites , Keahole Lobster で非常に満足のいくものでした（デザートのケーキ、コーヒーも美味しかった）。
It was Christmas Eve and my expectations were high. I made the reservation over a month out and ended up at a horrible table. When they came to light the torches he blew the horn and someone forgot to turn on the gas. A hilight of the evening was ruined and they never ever fixed it in the two hours we spent there. We spent $500.00 and we left underwhelmed.
Excellent service by knowledgable staff. Incredible water view for sunset. Able to watch the whales spouting in the distance and enjoy dinner by tiki torch lighting when the sun went down. The food presentation was beautiful. Local ingredients were fresh and the fish special of the day was prepared special for me due to shellfish allergies. Appetizers, salad, bread basket, and drinks were also amazing. Entire meal was relaxed and worth every penny. Highly recommend to all who want a beautiful sunset dining experience.
Has to be one of the most romantic restaurants ever. You must sit outside the view is unbelievable with the ocean waves and sunset. The food has to be one of the best meals ever! I am allergic to Garlic and shell fish and they had no problems working with me on that. My only complaint is it was our 30th anniversary and we went there twice on our 10 days trip there and neither day did they mention it. Plus the friends we were with was celebrating their 20th. I added the anniversary to our reservation.
Go for the views, unbelievable location. Sauces on the fish courses definitely out of a bottle. I’m pretty sure the crab cakes aren’t made in house either. Expensive, remember your paying for the view, service was acceptable, not outstanding though.
