Kamuela Provision Co. Ratings and Reviews
Elegant, romantic with impressive views of ocean, beautiful sunset with a green flash that evening. We were also entertained with atleast 6 whales spouting and swimming from a distance. The waiter, Christian, was very personable and provided excellent service. We had the 14 oz. ribeye and crab cake, and both were very delicious. The ribeye was very savory and tender. We also had coconut creme brûlée which is served in a real coconut shell...I definitely wasn't going to pass up one of my favorite desserts, especially since we were celebrating Valentine's Day. We've dined here 2 other times before and have enjoyed it, but this experience was the best. The stellar food, remarkable food presentation, friendly service, atmosphere and spectacular views are unbeatable. Highly recommended.
My husband and I had dinner here in Feb 2018. The best time for a reservation was 630p( I set up the time weeks in advance on OpenTable. Good thing I did - it was booked every night) We arrived at 6pm and had a cocktail at the front patio area and watched the sun setting - what a magnificent view. We asked to quickly be seated at 620pm in the back patio and watched the sun set with all of the other customers, who all gasped in unison.
Every seat is great, although we wanted a 2 person seat right at the ocean but we were unwilling to pay the extra $25 to guarantee it. As expected, the fare prices at a high end establishment in Hawaii were very high. We come from NYC and by our standards, we thought the menu was overpriced. $83 for a lobster, $57 for a NY Strip. We shared these plus an order of onion rings ($10) which were great. The food was really excellent, the location, the ambiance, the sunset, the service, excellent drinks ---this is why the prices are inflated. Well worth it for a one time special/fancy/memorable dinner. Would definitely recommend.
Had 5:00 standard dining reservations, opening time. We’re seated on the patio, which seemed to be the majority of the tables. Not sure what the $25 charge was all about — maybe a reservation closer to the 6:30 sunset? Anyway, our party if 4 enjoyed crab cakes and the tomato salad, followed by mahimahi, short ribs, Bouillabaisse. Desserts were lilikoi cheesecake and the mudslide. All of our choices were good, not spectacular. Wine list was pricey — figure at least $50. You are definitely paying for the scenery and location overlooking the ocean, with Maui in the distance. Sunset was a bit cloudy but beautiful. A bit distracting to have resort patrons walking on the path past the tables.
We were seated at a great table by the ocean. Our server Linda was great. She was friendly and efficient. The monchong fish was prepared really tasty and the ribeye steak with mushrooms and onions was sensational. On the occasion of my 74th birthday, I was offered a dessert.
Overall: disappointing. We made a reservation here the last night of a trip to celebrate our anniversary. We had previously stayed at this resort on our honeymoon and had missed KPC so we’re looking forward to the experience. The hostess gave us a excellent table in their Ali’i section right on the water so we had a fantastic view of the sunset. The wait support staff (water person & bread person) were excellent. Our waiter seemed uninterested in our experience and stopped by only cursorily. For example, when he delivered our entrees I asked for a refill. He didn’t arrive with it until our plates had been cleared away. And, while I know that servers are busy folks, I never saw him at more than 1 or 2 other tables. We left a decent tip more for the others than for him. Overall I’ve eaten similarly priced meals with better service and no ocean view and enjoyed them much more. The food was good but I’d say skip it and head down the beach to Lava Lava Beach Club. You’ll have more fun and your wallet will thank you!
Hands down my favorite spot for a relaxing and/or romantic dinner on the Big Island. Great food, best setting, good service. Never disappoints! Love love love it. Closest proximity too the ocean you'll find, lovely sunset view, upscale without being pretentious, just right Aloha vibe!
Great table with nice view. Had a hair in my sauce when the waiter set my plate in front of me. I alerted him to the hair and he is kind of shrugged it off and walked away. Later when he checked on us he said he would like to offer a free desert, I politely declined. He should have Taken the plate back and offered to fix this instead of leaving it on the table and charging me for this plate with someone's hair on it. The hair was on the plate when he set it in front of me not like he left the table and came back and then I found the hair, nope just as he set the plate down there was a large curly hair in the sauce. I would expect more from this place, we paid more to have a nice table view, purchased the 2 most expensive plates on the menu. Was not happy about this and will not be back.
We one here often, service was a tad less attentive and with light winds there was no Lana’i seating. So we were all inside. The way the tables were had one of our party continuously brushed and lightly bumped by wait staff as they passed. One had a very lg tray and passed about an inch over her head. It was quite odd and uncomfortable. They never once apologized when they did brush her or her chair. Disappointed.
My Husband and I ate here to celebrate our birthdays. We reserved the special Lanai seating which I highly recommend. It was fabulous to watch sunset as we dined. The food was delicious. Well prepared with great presentation. I was especially impressed with the customer service. I walk very slowly with a cane. The tram driver called ahead to ensure they held our Lanai table. Be aware that it is inside a huge resort that uses trams and boats as shuttles. A great experience and I highly recommend.
We requested a ocean side table if it was available, which it was, so we had an amazing setting for our dinner. The wait staff was exceptional. My husband and I shared a salad and a main course which was very acceptable. The food was excellent and the overall experience outstanding.
Slow, poor service, and the food arrived cold 5 out of 7 plates. No check back to see if everything was ok. They comped two desserts by way of apology, but still charged the 18% gratuity.
I have eaten here several times in the past, always very good, this was very disappointing.
I asked to speak to the manager, and did. He informed me that they had several problems last night and he didn’t have time to come and chat with us about our very poor experience.
Ridiculously bad form.
This was our Special Treat dinner (celebrating our anniversary) during our vacation. Perhaps we were slightly disappointed because we had expectations. The appetizer, poke with avocado, was excellent. One entrée, the beef tenderloin with foie gras, was very good; great sauce on it! The other entrée, the steamed monkfish with rice, was so steamed and mild that there was almost no taste to it whatsoever. The dessert, a flan, was excellent. So, not a Home Run but given the menu prices we just thought everything would be superb. Oh, the wait service was appropriate... helpful and almost there we wanted something.
This restaurant never fails to provide an authentic Hawaiian dinner and experience. The service, the food, the whales putting on a show for over an hour, the marvelous Hawaiian Sunset, straight out of Endless Summer, made this an unforgettable dinner experience.
The food was shamefully overpriced merely because it was at a resort. The food was not up to the quality or technically prepared for the ridiculously overpriced menu items. I’m willing to pay more for quality food and preparation, but this place had neither. Service was fine, but prices were a big enough turnoff to affect entire rating.
We always make sure to spend an evening at KPC whenever we visit the island. The food and presentation are great, and we find the value very good compared to other resort restaurants. It is wonderful to be able to sit outdoors to enjoy the fabulous view and watch the sunset. Their poke is some of the best I've had. I will definitely return to this restaurant and recommend anyone visiting the Waikoloa area experience it.
I thought that this was supposed to be a 5-star dining experience. Instead it was a slightly upscale TGI Friday's. The food was pretty nice, but the service was indifferent and the ambience was downright disappointing. Also, I took my wife there for her birthday and they did nothing--no recognition, no special greeting, no birthday cake. I had to ask them for a candle to put into her dessert. Overall I think I'm being too generous by awarding 3 stars, because if I consider the cost of this place, it is really closer to 2 stars.
The food is expensive but hey wants not expensive here in Hawaii . There is one watch out. My wife and I each ordered a glass of wine at the bar while our table was being prepared. Each glass was about $14 or $15. At dinner we ordered two more glasses an we both notice that the pour was generous. When our waiter brought the check I noticed the price was $21 a glass. I asked the waiter about this and he said that he assumed we would want a generous pour. I thought that was pretty sleazy. He adjusted he bill and his tip was adjusted as well. This is a very good restaurant that doesn’t need the wait staff trying to pad the check.
The food was passable and the serving staff realized the outdoor space was too cold and moved us inside. That was the best part. The lobster dinner was paltry and an embarrassment as the steak and lobster had a better portion... and included a filet! The waiter forgot our sides until dinner was nearly over and same with our bottle of wine. Generally a poor effort. The value is just not there.
