We are staying at The Hilton Grand Ocean Tower. It was perfect to take the resort tram to the end and enjoy the short walk to the restaurant. Everything was perfect.

Beautiful scenic ocean backdrop. Perfect vantage to catch a Hawaii sunset.

We enjoyed it so much that in our 1 week stay we ate there 3 times for dinner

We made a reservation here for our last night in Waikoloa Village. We definitely recommend coming for sunset as that is the highlight of the location.
We did the chefs tasting menu which was good value, the portions were much larger than tasting menus we are used to. Everything was delicious and the wine parings were impeccable. Definitely recommend for a celebration or date night.

The croutons on my salad were not good. They ran out of deserts so you need to reserve a table early.

We went there on our last night on the island. The view was beautiful but I recommend going earlier in the evening so you can catch the sunset. Our table was ocean facing and a great ambiance. The live music was the perfect tempo. Unfortunately I was disappointed with about half our food.
We ordered the chef set menu. We were pretty happy with our appetizers (poke and crab cakes). The main course was so-so. I ordered the Short Ribs and was very disappointed. It was very dry and don’t fall apart at all. I got a side of onion rings and was also disappointed with the batter. Texture was great but the batter was very dough and not flaky as I like. My wife got the New York Strip and Brussels sprouts. Both were AMAZING. We both got the lobster tails ($35 for half a tail), which were over priced, but good. The deserts were very tasty.

I was appreciative of the waiter. He did what he could to comp the side plates due to the poorly cooked Short Ribs.

Overall, the volume of food for $300 was good, but the quality was way sub par. We ordered a similar size and cost meal at a WAY higher quality down the road at Fairmount Orchids and will likely go there instead next time.

Food was super, waiter was very good with details.
An$85 meal PLUS$20 extra for a steak is overpriced!
And the free desert? There was not enough carrot cake to even taste. Sorry, was very happy the last time we went there three years ago. With tip, it turned out to be a $300 meal for two.

The entrees were good. The dessert was not worth eating. Our busser was excellent actually but the server was not to their typical standard. For such a beautiful spot, I wish they would up their game.

In two weeks on the big island, the only place that had farmed fish... overcooked and disappointing. Went for the Monchong which was on the online prix fixe menu. While not available as advertised, Monchong was not substituted with a different fresh fish from Hawaiian water. Lots of hype but not much quality. Overpriced and mediocre.

I was a little hesitant to eat here given the recent reviews but am happy we decided to keep our reservation. The food was quite good, overpriced of course but to be expected given the location. Our server took a minute to get to us but once he did was very attentive. I’d recommend eating here.

The special birthday occasion we were celebrating was never acknowledged nor did the waiters introduce himself, offer daily specials, or recommendation. Service was extremely lacking, felt mechanical and going through the motions. The $64 Ala cart filet mignon I ordered tasted lemony and spoiled. A new order was received well after my companions were done eating which force me to eat the sides as my main entrée, and box the steak for takeout. Felt left out of enjoying this, and at this point we were moving on with desserts & after dinner drinks. Very little apology and certainly the manager never came out to apologized, I poorly scored this for a fine dining establishment, i’ve had better service at a Cheesecake Factory.

It pains me to say that this place is simply overrated.

The outdoor dining should feel spectacular but there's something missing. Sure, tiki torches and such but it just feels like the dining area was quickly set up on the patio with views of people's rooms in the nearby tower.

The service was good, actually great though the servers themselves seemed better fit for a more moderate restaurant and not a special splurge.

The weak point, though, was the food. The chef is trying, for example, with the deconstructed carrot cake but when it came out with cake bits torn apart, it just looked lame. Of the four of us, nobody ordered anything noteworthy and a place like this should impress at least someone in the party.

Sorry, folks. You can do better.

Really mediocre food (Caesar salad appeared to be just a pre-packaged lettuce salad with only croutons added in.)at an expensive price. Service was quite slow. We were seated directly next to two tiki torches and were extremely warm the entire meal. Honestly, our meal at Brown’s Beach House was twenty times better than here and actually cheaper. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Disappointed to say the least.

The view is spectacular but that is only reason to go there. The so-called hollandaise sauce should have been called gooey white sauce. It made the oysters Rockefeller especially bad. The hostess was running around aimlessly and did not effectively get people seated. Would not recommend.
