We kept this reservation as it had the best outdoor seating option and it was an absolutely beautiful evening. They were not even using the outdoor patio and we were stuck in a corner towards the front of the restaurant with no real view, just the sounds of screaming kids by the pools. The food took forever. It came cold. Why didn't we send it back? Well, it took forever and we had a flight to catch the next day. The waiter forgot to bring my son's salad and was more focused on a larger table of 8 and another table of three than out table of three. The other table of three had a guy that seemed to be more chatty with the waiter and maybe even a local. We never once had him refill our ides tea. Just terrible service to go with mediocre food. On top of it being served cold, the miso marinated fish was way over-marinated and mush. The soup might as well have come out of a can and was also luke warm. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, over-priced, bad service and bad food. It was a trifecta of AWFUL.
I have been to the Kamuela Provision Company at least 10 times and plan it for my Birthday or Anniversary every year!
Incredible food. Great staff. Pice is a bit overpriced. But quality meets the highest standards
Took 25 mins to even get menus, very slow service especially when the restaurant was not busy!
KPC is a lovely restaurant. The food was very good and our waiter was attentive and nice. The only complaint/concern I had was when we were first seated (party of four) the hostess took us to a table that would seat four but had only three chairs. She then promptly walked away. It wasn't until my daughter walked over to another table to get a chair that we had assistance from staff to get another chair. I found this to be odd for a restaurant of this caliber. It should be noted that it was a while before my daughter went to get a chair from another table. Once we were seated things definitely improved.
Scallops were very good. Seafood Tower was bland and served only with cocktail sauce. Nothing else was offered. Service was ok. Maybe my expectations were too high. Ocean view couldn’t be better. Ambiance is unbeatable.
First of all, the price we paid for the amount of food and quality was very poor. After receiving a $10 Opentable gift card, during my process of the check the cashier applies the $10 credit to a different bill and not ours. Taking at least 30 mins to sort things out and awaiting for my check to come back. For the view, it’s fantastic but it’s pretty much like your paying for 80% of the meal because anybody can cook the food here. It’s pretty much like a fast food chain. I am very disappointed with the service and quality that they given to us, especially affiliated with Hilton.
Exceptional restaurant. Food was exceptional, Service was outstanding, and the views from the restaurant were great. Staff was very friendly and attentive. It was so good my wife and I went there twice during our vacation. The first time we had their seafood tower. It was exceptional. The second time my wife had their seafood bouillabaisse and it was exceptional. I had a local fish, steak and fish combo. The best time is at sunset, awesome view
The food was spectacular. We both had green salad and fish special. Our server Jordan was excellent, very attentive and knowledgeable about everything in the menu. I was hoping for a table with water views, but the evening we booked had extremely high winds so there was understandably no outside seating. Overall we would love to return.
Fantastic service matched with a wonderful meal.
$22 martinis and compared to Merriman’s the food neither compared in quality and price.
Made reservations and they passed us up several times. Ended up being seated 40 min past reservation time. Management did a great job making up for reservation error. Food was on point. Waitress was welcoming and attentive. Would recommend overall. Worth the wait.
Great outdoor experience! Jason was a friendly and attentive waiter and the food was good. We had the Miso sea bass (I loved it, my husband did not)..tomato beet salad (delicious!), crab cake appy(very good) and kona mudslide dessert(DEEEELICOUS!!!). Sunset was beautiful so all in all a lovely dinner out!
Beautiful setting but outlandish prices! Food was average.
Wonderful view of the sunset!!
Wonderful sunset view
Friendly server
Good food
The best thing about KPC is the view which is absolutely stunning. Although the view was stunning - especially at sunset - and the service was excellent, the food, for the most part, left much to be desired. On the plus side for the food: The dinner rolls were tasty but not warm, my son-in-law's fish entree was moist and tasty, and the cocktails were decent. On the minus side: I realize we were paying resort-level prices and were also paying for a view, however, the $76 bone-in a ribeye, although cooked medium-rare as requested, was sub-par (sinewy and almost "tough" versus juicy and tender), the onion-ring appetizer was "flat" (almost little no or seasoning to speak of), our mushroom and onion "add on" was undercooked, and the calamari appetizer portion size was laughable. I don't usually write negative reviews, but except for the view, the company of my family, and the attentive staff, I was quite disappointed. I'd suggest simply skipping the restaurant and instead bring your own cooler of goodies/wine and a blanket to spread out just outside the venue.
Great view, very windy which the restaurant couldn’t help. While I love being left alone while out for a special dinner, I would have liked a little more attentiveness from the waiter. But overall service was good and the food was incredible!
Great food. Amazing view. Waiter had great recommendations and free dessert for our anniversary.
Nice atmosphere for a resort restaurant. Service was good but the food was just OK for the value. Very windy evening so our had to sit inside.
The views dining here are incredible. Right by the ocean as the sun sets... We really enjoyed our evening here, but the prices are extremely high. The food is good and I’d say the experience is worth it, but just for a one time thing.
Be cautious. On windy days, it may be more difficult to enjoy the ambiance of this restaurant. You can sit inside, but definitely more worth it to be outside.
Be prepared for the one downside—high prices— but the food, the service and the oceanfront experience are worth it. The three of had and shared filet mignon, hangar steak and fish. All superb!
The view is awesome, we were there 5 minutes and we saw a whale break the water, awesome!!, and at sunset the view just got better, the seafood tower is great . I highly recommend this restaurant.
Terrific food, service and ambiance.
Excellent place to celebrate our anniversary. We have celebrated our anniversary on the Big Island for years and KPC is always the highlight dinner. I must say, this year was better than ever and a step up from our highest expectations. We even returned the next night. Great service, beautiful ambiance, and outstanding food.
Great View Great food The whales were dancing right infront of us
They ran out of the daily special (Red Snapper, my favorite) so I was sad. Other than that everything was fine. Kinda pricey.
Outdoor seating is phenomenal when the weather is calm.
The view here is amazing. Make sure to book a reservation for 30 mins before sunset as that is the best part for sure. The service was good all around. The prices are very high for the quality of the food. We came out to over $100 per person for 5 of us and we only had a couple salads, one app, 5 mains (not the lobster) and 3 drink in total. I had the seafood stew and it wasn’t a large portion and was too salty.
Worth the visit once for the view, but there is much better food elsewhere.
Wow! The sunset was incredible. Paid the extra $50 to sit on the closest tables to the ocean. Amazing! Great food, great service!
great location and view, but very overpriced, the price is expected given its location but a nice meal with apps, entrees, sides and drinks for 2 people was over $400 for 2 people, great view of sunset but was a one time trip.
Loved the whole experience. We watched whales, the sunset and had fantastic service and food
Expensive, as anticipated. Steaks quite underdone-had to sent back & should have gone another time!).
Waiter truly exceptional. Ambiance wonderful.
Amazing service and high quality eats. I had the O-Paca-Paca with mushroom risotto and it was tremendous.
The server was very brusque, in a hurry and not much help. We asked if rice could be substituted for risotto and the firm answer was “no”. We had higher expectations for a nice evening. It was a disappointment. Won’t go back.
Expensive but the location is magnificent. Definitely a special occasion. It can be windy outside so be prepared but your right on the ocean and it is Hawaii, so suck it up.
Food was good but the service was not that great.
Valentines Day.
We booked our special Valentine’s Day dinner 2 months ahead of time. Since we are staying here it looked like the best restaurant at the resort. We’re not sure if our server was brand new or just had a bad night, but the older gentleman with gray hair, slightly tall from Washington state “Richard” we think was his name was definitely awful. We were surprised to have that slow of service. It took about 15 just to get greeted, then we ordered drinks and that took another 15 minutes. Then he cane came back with nothing and apologized and said he was splitting checks in the back. When we finally got our drinks the service was better and ordered our food immediately and things started to improve. Amazing food, but poor service.
