   Very few choices for lactose intolerant and solution was just to skip dairy ingredients. Nothing great about the taste of most items. Arctic char was just ok. Over hyped and not very authentic in my view. Server was nice.

   I found KAMA from the YYC Food and Drink Experience event. The menu looked delicious so I thought I’d go there to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. When we arrived, at a first glance the restaurant was beautiful and it felt like you weren’t even in Calgary. When we got seated at our table the server was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He was so honest about which items he thought were the best. We had a really hard time choosing which foods to eat because they all sounded so good. In the end, we went with his recommendations and we were blown away by how great everything tasted. All the dishes were curated and brought out one by one so it didn’t crowd the table. This gave us time to devour and appreciate each dish. To top it off they brought out the olive oil cake we ordered with a candle and a card signed by all the employees. It was such a sweet gesture making our experience all that much better. I will definitely be coming back to try all the other seclusions dishes.

    We went for the YYC tasting menu and it was our first time to Kama. We were impressed. The decor is modern and vibrant. The food was taste. We really enjoyed our lunch there.

    The room is beautiful, our server was very friendly and well informed. Plating of all the dishes is exceptional. We had the 3 course prixe fix lunch that they were offering, an excellent value. So we got to sample 6 dishes this way, between us. Our favorite was the Lions Mane scaloppini - with a creative play on Cacio e Pepe using Celeriac. Very successful. Our least favorite was the pork belly, which was neither crispy nor tender - sadly. The Tuna was excellent, and the SemiFreddo was beautiful and yum. The open kitchen, which should be a positive, was not on this day. I would rather not hear what we heard.

    We came for the prix fixe dinner and we delighted with every course! The waiter was attentive and did not rush us through the courses. We (4) sat in the middle of the room in comfortable leather club chairs. The lemon semi freddo, berry compote and sumac lemon curd was returnworthy!

    Food Expo 2023 menu, but menu on Expo website didn't align with what we got. Overall, mostly good. Best things: the service (Cooper) & the desserts, which were amazing. The starter of warm olives with walnut gremolata was yummy (12 large olives was a lot for 2 people). Popcorn octopus was delicious, but mojo verde was lacklustre. Duck confit orechiette was good, but also without any pop of flavour. The arctic char itself was a 10/10, but the other components on the dish made no sense to me; the flavour profile of this was underwhelming. The lemon semi freddo - WOW. THAT is what a flavour profile is all about! Two thumbs up. More than decent options for wine by the glass. We really enjoyed the restaurant itself - vibrant, with amazing staff, layout, & decor.

    The service from the moment we walked in until we left was too notch. All the staff were helpful, knowledgeable and so friendly. AGM Javen personally came by to check on us through out the evening. Chef Kenny delivered dishes I couldn’t get enough of! We ate everything from popcorn octopus, prawns, Brussels sprouts, to Artichoke char and amazing deserts. We will be back for sure!!

    Excellent food, service and decor! Highly recommend this restaurant. I was a fan of Workshop before and Chef Kenny has created something equally as good. Kama did not disappoint.

    I love the food and atmosphere at Kama. Everything is super fresh though it could be slightly larger. The thought put into the creative dishes and drinks is much appreciated and I’ll definitely be back.

    Went for a late lunch. Super friendly GM and waitstaff. We ordered a few dishes to share and they were all tasty. The space is beautiful and the chairs were super comfy.

    Second time visiting Kama for dinner and it did not disappoint. Ordered a variety of tapas plates with a nice cold petit Chablis and finished off with a port and semi fredo dessert!!! Delicious, can’t wait to go back!!! Go!!! To!!! Kama!!!!

    Booked 14 days in advance for 5 pm before theatre Seated in the worst area, facing a cement plaza and office building instead of the bar ambience area Food came piece-meal No attempt to coordinate 4 person meals Received carrots and cauliflower well before main meals 2 received their main meal dishes after other 2 had finished eating theirs Chef obviously cooks all same orders at a time, serves, then does a bunch of other identical dishes. Only one dish had no garlic so our allergies were not helped Don’t think the chef knows any other flavoring than garlic Most dishes just loaded with it Manager tried to make us feel better at the end, but pointless Never again !!!
