Girls outing. Great atmosphere, young staff, amazing music. It was quiet when we got there around 5:15. Of course, got noisier with time, this was Saturday night after all. Food was very good, best sampled was the outstanding kale Caesar, the cauliflower, the Thai fish. My friends didn’t want dessert and I was disappointed because I wanted the crack pie, but not all to myself. I was surprised with a small piece to share, on the house. I thought that was so nice of Ricky our waiter. Crack pie is out of this world, a Momofuko / Milk Bar style recipe.
Went to Kale||Bacon on a Friday night. The vibe was lively, the food was original and delicious and the service was bar none the best I've had in a long time. Ricky was incredibly welcoming and fun, he definitely went the extra mile to make it an awesome experience. We will most definitely be back!
Loved this restaurant! The cauliflower wings were to die for. The short rib steam buns were amazing. “Small plates” are pretty generous. Between two of us we had 4 plates, drinks and desserts and left full. The decor and vibe are very hip. Staff was super friendly. I highly recommend Kale Bacon.
Kale bacon is amazing I recommend everyone try it out. The food is amazing and the ambiance is so much fun.
Service was great and attentive. Food was amazing with lots of variety and I really liked the half portion options so we got to try more things!
I’ve been to Kale//Bacon twice now and I’m obsessed. Amazing food, drinks, and service. Such a unique and fun dining experience, especially in the West Island. It’s nice not to have to go far from home for this kind of food and experience.
First visit. Loved it. Music a tad too loud.
We shall return
The food at Kale Bacon was really good. The service however... is a different story! We were there for over 2 hours even though we reserved early in the evening to make sure it wouldn't be crazy busy. We waited a long time for our food and an even longer time to get our bill (after asking a 2nd time).
We were 6, none of us had good things to say about the food. Overcooked, undercooked, average service, difficulty understanding the menu, poor menu presentation on paper sheets!! Not a repeat for any of us. Good luck, it is not an easy business and few survive unless it brings quality and value
Service was a bit slow, but very pleasant! Enjoyed all the dishes, but found the thai curry shrimp a little bland, expected better. Loved everything else we ordered, would go back!
This was my second visit. First visit, food was great but service was extremely slow. I attributed the bad service to growing pains since they had just recently opened. Since the food was good, I decided to give it a second try. Second visit food was even better, I’d say outstanding. But the service was so so slow, from greeting to service to getting a bill. I didn’t complain because I own a business and I know how hard it is to get staff these days so I was understanding. Table next to us got antsy, complained, spoke to the owner and got free drinks. Lesson learned, I’ll say something next time- cheers! Note: both times they ran out of beer...
That being said, I will continue to support this business as vegan options are so few in the West Island, and I can go with my omni friends.
Great food and great service. Place was very loud but all in all a great experience.
Manager, Ricki, was awesome. Super friendly and welcoming!
The lunch menu is great, though the bacon fries should DEFINITELY be on it! Ricky was amazing!
Tons of variety, great food and drinks. A MUST try.
Expect the unexpected. West Island desperately needed some Kale//Bacon.
The appetizers are unique and prepared with love, no doubt. Excellent selection of Japanese scotch. The service staff is top level. Truly hope it will be around for several years to come. Thanks for being.
I preferred their old menu (1 page vegetarian, 1 page meat). Their new menu, which is more tapas style, is far more confusing, and it's not clear which options are vegetarian or not. Plus I think the new menu format takes away from their very concept, which is simple and binary balance of vege & meat.
Pleasant surprise. Been wanting to try it out and now can’t wait to return. Menu selection is great - have to go back to test out more choices. Great attentive staff. A+
Love the new Half portion option. Makes it easy to try more dishes!
Amazing ! The food is fantastic, fresh, delicious ! We had the Poké melon , chicken, cauliflower, the rib, the ceviche ! We were three. The wine was great ! Sabrina was very professional and made a great effort to speak French ! She was very courteous and attentive ! Thank you ! We will definitely come back with the whole family. We will recommend the restaurant... Haut la main !
We’ve been trying to try this place since it open, it exceeded our expectations. Everything was absolutely delicious! This place is our number 1 in the West Island!
I loved my first experience at Kale Bacon. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was on point and the decor was welcoming and trendy. The price is a little on the expensive side but for the quality of food and presentation received, I'm okay with it.
Easily becoming one of my NEW FAVOURITE restaurants !
The staff is so nice. helpful & informative, the dishes are delicious and generous portions. Many items change and many are still on the menu due to the seasonal and experimental aspects. We had a delicious & generous Katsu chicken in a Bao ( asian potaish), the home made beat hummus really nice. The Thai chicken and noodle dishes we had were very tasty but we over ordered...not to worry they all came home with us...
Can't wait to go back & see whats next on the menu !!!
Loved the decor, great, friendly service. Interesting food. All around a nice place for lunch or dinner.
I live in the West Island and I wanted to dine at Kale Bacon for the past 2 months. I rallied up my friends and the six of us had a fantastic evening.
Everything about it was great...especially the service. Shawn our server was outstanding! The food was great and the overall experience was wonderful.
I recommend Kale Bacon to all those who say the West Island is to far of a drive from Montreal.
Over priced Tuna poke bowl and ver very small portion
Fish n chips also over priced with small pieces of fish
This is a great new spot on the West Island. The food is good and the ambience is cool. The night we went, they were short staffed and service was a bit slow, but it didn’t impede our enjoyment of this resto.
Note: the meals are meant to be shared, my friend and I ordered way too much and felt sick after, all of our own doing 😂 The food was very good and reasonable price.
Great new restaurant, with an awesome concept that actually caters to both vegetarians and meat-eaters. Menu options were all original, tasted great, and wonderfully presented. Restaurant vibe was A+. My ONLY qualm, and it’s a small one, was just that service felt quite slow. We weren’t in a rush, so it was fine, but I could see how that could be a problem otherwise. We waited at least a good 15-20 minutes after being seated before even seeing a waiter and/or being offered water. There were numerous large time gaps between servings that were noticeable. But the waiter was super friendly and helpful. I definitely plan on coming back.
This IS 1 of my new FAVORITE restaurants, innovative combinations, very tasty dishes and friendly service, not to mention very good cocktails !
The home made flat bread and pizza doughs are great
We had kale ceasar & a peach mini cucumber & pickle salads, amazing generous chicken tenders & chicken wings,
Pork belly fries with 2 house drizzled sauces,
We had 3 different fish dishes salmon, black cod & sea bass.
They were each prepared & accompanied with unique tastes !
Another house special is the beef ribs great👌🏻.
Leave room for desserts, the crack pie is yummy as was the Nutella calzone. They also have unique cocktails and a full bar & wine selection.
All the attention to the dish compositions it is clear the chef is well experienced ...
Looking forward to our return !
Food was delicious! Funky vibe, great service, innovative menu and generous portions to share. We will definitely be back.
Delicious meal. Innovative food. Great ambience. Loved it!
Delicious cauliflower wings and bacon pad sew. Only complaint is the temperature -- it was FREEZING. Will be coming back though (with a sweater hehe), what a cool new spot!
The bacon fries are amazing! Really good and nice restaurant, will go back for sure!
Good food. Definitely big portions to share. Great cocktails and service as well!
The food is fantastic (although some dishes are a bit greasy) and very generous portions. Great ambience and happy vibe. The service is probably the best I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. Sean, our waiter, went above and beyond anything I could have ever expected. He truly seems to love what he does and it shows. We even went back the following week and, even though we weren’t seated in his section he still came by a few times to say hi and to make sure everything was perfect. Great experience overall!
Food and service exceptional, will be back to try new dishes as they all looked delicious.
From the minute we walked in, we were warmly welcomed. Everyone is so nice, friendly and helpful. Absolute love the decor and ambiance!! The little details did not go unnoticed.
The food... everything we chose was tasty and so well presented. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on their menu.
We were only two, but the portions are large so we didn’t get a chance to try other dishes we were eyeing on the menu. We will definitely be back to try more, including dessert!
We had: Bacon Fries, Cauliflower Wings, Thai Grilled Chicken
Au prix que le vin est vendu il devrait y avoir des importations privés. Super soirée!!
