Named in the top 100 restaurants worldwide by the Foodie Top 100 Restaurants, Gora Kadan is housed in a historic building that was once the summer residence of Prince Kaninnomiya. Nestled in the greenery of Hakone, the building features a half-timber style exterior inspired by medieval European architecture and an elegant art-deco interior. The Prince studied in glamorous France at the end of the 19th Century, and his elegant tastes are reflected in the good old European styles that are visible throughout the property. Descending from the luxurious traditional Japanese ryotei inn Gora Kaden, the authentic Japanese Kaiseki cuisine is made using the freshest seafood straight from Suruga Bay and Sagami Bay, as well as seasonal ingredients meticulously sourced from all over Japan, to produce an eye-catching and colorful display of the season’s freshest and finest. Enjoy absolute bliss while getting a glimpse of the prosperity of the Imperial Family of yesteryear.

    外国人の味覚を持ち合わせ日本に初心者観光客として当該店を訪れるぶんには問題ない。そこそこ日本を味わえる。しかしながらこれが日本料理と思われると少しばかり気持ちが暗くなります。本当に美味しいものと洗練されたサービスを知っている方や昔の宿やとしての強羅花壇のイメージで当該店を選んだ方からは次は選ばれないでしょう。味もサービスも完全に外国人観光客をターゲットととした店です。サービスホールスタッフもアジア系外国人が多くノンアルコールビールも区別がついていません。車も大げさに預かってくださるものの帰りには駐車場所も車種も把握せず違う車に案内。寒空に宿泊者の車の中から探しましたよ。担当のスタッフとともに。強羅にセカンドハウスを持って初日の夕食。この店のおかげで熱海にセカンドハウスを買い替えました笑笑

    建物も料理もとても素晴らしかったです！ 雨の日に伺いましたが、入り口でタオルを貸していただけたり、サービスがとても良かったです。

    強羅花壇に宿泊したのですが、どうしてもレストランを利用したくて昼食をいただきました。料理は手のかかったもので味も良く、お店の雰囲気も大変良く大満足でした。関西からは距離がありますが、機会があればぜひまた行きたいお店です。

    憧れの強羅花壇。ランチで訪れることが出来良かったです。 母と2人で丁度良いお料理、雰囲気も良く落ち着いていただけました。

    Quick kayseki lunch after a gora park visit. The lunch was average at best but with nice dinnerware, service, and desert. The main dish was fish, in our case a dried out sockeye salmon type and flavorless. Pickles and sides on par with other local venues we tried. Ambiance was excellent but likely won't return for the food.. With more than 5 visits to Hakone over the years, dining scene is certainly not what it was 10 years ago.

    Very delicious and very nice place with history!! The kid's meal was also good. One staff came from Taiwan and she served well. However, we had problem in using credit card at the end because the card machine was malfunctioning. It is still a wonderful experience in the restaurant. I would like to visit the restaurant again and also stay in the hotel in the future.

    強羅花壇の宿泊予約がとれず、「花壇」の食事のみ利用しました。わざわざ訪れた甲斐がありました。心配りが行き届いていて、とても快適に楽しめました。
