Kaido features small plates, crudos, robatayaki and other dishes focusing on fresh ingredients and bright local and international flavors. Kilgore’s unique style shines in the form of sharable appetizers, such as the uni Fondue and Wagyu Katsu Sandwich, perfectly complimenting de Soto’s beautiful cocktails and large format drinks for the table, and forging a seamless and adventurous culinary marriage in the heart of the Design District.

Outstanding food, service & decor. All the food is exceptional! Don’t miss the the uni fondue & the pork and mushroom dumpling. Drinks are also excellent! We enjoyed every minute.
Great overall! Private bar in the back was fun too
Elena took care of us. Unfortunately she’s leaving KAIDO. Great food
Went for dinner the other night. The food was just ok, which isn’t good enough given the price. The seafood was not fresh and they served raw fish on the warm side. The cocktails were pretty good and the service was attentive.
Food was mediocre. The uni fondue stood out.
Dinner with friends we haven’t seen in over a year
The restaurant is very cool - fantastic ambience. The bartenders are great and overall the service is very good. The food is just okay. Very small portions even when comparing to Chotto Matte, KYU and Zuma. I didn't care for their specialty - cheese fondue with seafood.
Your taste buds will go wild !
Amazing food, the chef came out and presented himself, it was a great experience!
Well food was good in general but i made a reservation for a table and when i got there they wanted to sit me outside where theres no A/C and told me they had reservations for tables inside... and i said... thats what i did... they wanted me to eat then at the bar and it is a little uncomfortable to eat the bar because of the chairs so after 1 hour they sat me in a small table... this was my second time visiting this restaurant but definitely the first time was the best for the amakase... but making a reservation “at the regular dining area thru opentable app” doesn’t guarantee you a comfortable table so i have learned my experience 😞if its not amakase reservation i better not show up!
What a treat! Exquisite presentation and cuisine. Every dish was a gastronomic experience. Highly recommend!!
I had a great experience at Kaido and as good as it was I know it'll be better next time. I was with 2 of my friends that don't eat beef. So we didn't order the short ribs or the beef tartare. They both look amazing. We did have some great dishes though including the Floridian Fugu, Uni Fondue, Enoki Mushrooms, Blue Crab Rangoon, Pork & Shrimp Dumplings and Thai Bass. Those were the dishes that really stood out. I know it seems like I just listed the whole menu, but I didn't. The menu is diverse. At first I was disappointed to hear the Fugu was not lionfish sashimi on that particular night because they didn't catch any good lionfish that week. So they brought me fluke sashimi. I have a feeling she wasn't gonna tell me unless I asked. And I did. It didn't look like lionfish. But I still loved the dish. The coconut dessert was great as well. I recently got back from Japan so I was pleased to see they have a great Japanese Whiskey selection too. We definitely indulged. I can't wait to bring my girlfriend back there so we can try the other dishes.
This food is amazing, but you’re literally in a mall. That should probably be highlighted somewhere...
Small portions, but excellent!
Perfect as always, start to finish. Everything is done to a superb level
Worst ever never had worst service food and drinks
Great decor for such an intimate restaurant.
Food scores high for it’s creativity, taste and presentation.
Service not at same caliber as the food and decor. The waiter tried too hard and way to long winded when explaining the menu and dishes... actually annoying!
Cool place and recommend to experience as a couple.
Was in town for a few days. Truly remarkable food experience. The waiter was wonderful in his recommendations and pace in which food was served. Can’t wait to come back. Let me not forget to mention the chocolate dessert was decadent. The mushroom dumpling was superb. Short ribs amazing. Nothing I would change.
Service was excellent
Service was very slow to start. Waiter asked if I prefer a large ice cube in my tequila drink and as usual I said yes. He recommended a cocktail to my gf and said if she didn’t like it then no problem to change it. When the $400 bill came the cocktail she didn’t like and returned was on the bill along with a $4 charge for the ice cube! Really? I complained and the manager immediately removed those charges but still it felt like they were trying to screw me if I wasn’t paying attention
Great food and service. The restaurant is stunning no expense spared. The Owner was extremely nice and made sure we were taken care of. Def will be back again.
This review is simple. Chef Brad Kilgore is simply a genius.
I’d put him in category of the best of the best. Also, service was excellent. All servers are truly excited about the food and Kilgore’s creativity. Ambiance is great as well. KAIDO and ALTER (Kilgore’s other restaurant) are favorites. Anyone we send loves both.
In my opinion this is currently the best restaurant in Miami! Food is creative, innovative, and the flavor is unmatched! The speak easy is outstanding, the bar ambiance is on point, I only wish the space was bigger! The dinning tables are a little to close to other guests to make this a romantic restaurant, that’s its only downfall.
Tastes were exquisite but portions miniscule and expensive.
I see it as the kind of place I go just once so I'll know I'll have the experience.
But there are too many places that are 90% as delicious for half the price.
Service was amazing ! Great presentation of the dishes.
Our reservation was at 930 end up siting at 1030, then waited another 15 mins to get our drinks even tough there were 4 bartenders not busy at all.
Siting at the bar you have a strange feeling since there is a decor on top of you with knives pointing at you from over your head.
The menu is hard to understand so you need guidance from your server but the music is loud so it becomes uncomfortable to listen to it.
Some of the tapas were good.
Kaido was great for a date night with my husband. We were very impressed with the specialty cocktails, especially the Shinobi, a blend of rum and sesame that was fragrant and outstanding, and the Momoiro, a sparkling sake mimosa. The uni fondue is amazing, and I loved the chicken yakitori with the melted leeks. Brad Kilgore does not disappoint.
Great experience, very original, secret place
I love this place ! The food was great and so was the service. Definitely coming back !
Small place , small portions ,small options
Flawless dinner. A real culinary journey with one of Miami’s culinary genius’s Chef Brad Kilgore.
Fun and fantastic! We had a great time, delicious food, very attentive staff, and the chef couldn’t have been more welcoming!!!
Top notch experience. Food was delicious and the service was on point! Design of the place is funky cool.
In a small jewel box size version of a magical japanese fusion nautilus , each meticulously elaborated course will keep you full of subtle yet captivating taste experiences. Surprising demostration of Kilgore’s versatiility.
Es un lugar muy caro y nada agradable, esta muy chiquito y nada llamativo. No vale la pena.
Hay mejores lugares en miami
We sat in the back room. We loved it. It was small and beautiful and we had a great experience. The food and ambience were both fantastic. Service was impeccable.
The restaurant has a chic vibe. The food is delicious and the servers are helpful and attentive.
All hipe, the tables are very small coupled with the portions. Service was mediocre and when confirming your reservation, be clear about where you want to seated - either inside or outdoors.
Did not enjoy . Small plates, food to complicated. Restaurant smelled like fish . Music was so loud you couldn’t hear your date . Just some items to name a few .
The cocktails and food were all excellent. Not a bad drink or dish in the bunch. Make sure you get the Uni Fondue. It was the star of the show for us.
