About
Kaido features small plates, crudos, robatayaki and other dishes focusing on fresh ingredients and bright local and international flavors. Kilgore’s unique style shines in the form of sharable appetizers, such as the uni Fondue and Wagyu Katsu Sandwich, perfectly complimenting de Soto’s beautiful cocktails and large format drinks for the table, and forging a seamless and adventurous culinary marriage in the heart of the Design District.
Terrible loud 90s crappy rap music, but who cares the food was EXCELLENT
Lovely place and delicious food and cocktails. Our waiter was very nice and explained both the signature drinks and menu quite well. Wish we could have sat longer, but had to run and catch a show. Will definitely be back!
Great experience, amazing food, great service. The chef's unique flavors do not let down.
We went for Valentine’s Day dinner the day before Valentine’s Day to avoid the crowds and Kaido didn’t disappoint. Great service, cocktails, and food! Highly recommend!
Our waiter was so sweet and soooo accommodating! The sushi platter and appetizers spoke for itself !
I went to Kaido, when it first opened last year and loved it. I went multiple times last year, but this is my first time going back in the last 8 months.
Unfortunately, Kaido lost its luster, the new cocktail menu is not great, and the food doesn't seem as good, as when they first opened. It was fairly easy to get a reservation on a Friday night, which last year, it was impossible. I should have known something was wrong, when it was easy to get a Friday reservation on the same day. The best thing about the place, was the server Andrew. He was amazing and very accommodating.
I'm very disappointed about Kaido and hope they can get back to where they were last year with the food and cocktails. The ambiance is still great, but a bit sad, on the lack of quality.
Fabulous, as always!
Uni fondue, enoki mushroom, & iberico & mushroom dumplings can’t be missed!
Don’t like it at all. The food was not good as I expected.
Inside was loud and noisy, they sited us outside and the noise in the mall was bad too. Outside the service was bad, it took a while for the drinks to come, but then the food came fast... but it wasn’t good... sad
It’s a small space. The service was alright considering the size of the restaurant. The food was ok, I recommend the cheese balls and eggplant maki roll, but nothing to write home about. It was pretty dark, when we mentioned this they said the chandelier was broken, but I had also heard this from other people. A bit overpriced for what it is.
Great staff and menu....memorable way to bring in the New Year!!
Delightful tasting menu with great cocktails and champagne. Service was very nice and knowledgeable as well.
It was great.. sitting outside feels like you’re in a mall...
Outstanding food, and service. The cocktails are as good or better than any in Miami and you will experience flavors you’ve never tasted before. Highly recommend.
Amazing food, super friendly staff and great ambiance
Flavor bombs. Highly recommend.
Not what expected
The waiter was really nice, the place is a little too dark, could have it a little bit clearer. The tables are so sticked to each other that my husband had to stand up and move his chair for another table to go threw the place. We payed $240 for the whole meal and we asked for the signature dishes, fondue and some other thing... I live in one of the culinary capitals of the world, really makes you feel dum when you pay that much for something that’s really worth $100 tops.
Absolutely outstanding!!
Our waiter Andrew was amazing! We will be returning on our next visit.
Fantastic, different
Food was great. But the outside table looks just like you are eating in a mall food court.
The service was terrible and the portions were tiny for the outrageous price.
Amazing time! The staff was super friendly, and the details about the menu and food really elevated the experience! They also had a waygu nigiri special that was out of this world!!
Too expensive for the food
I had very special clients in town and this is my go to place for an amazing experience.
The service was terrible for a resturant that was not busy. It took forever to get our food. Our server told us that our dish takes 15 minutes to prepare, it took 60 minutes. This should not happen. The resturant gave us a discount on our bill, but I didn't go there for a discount. I went there for a nice meal and good service.
Had the 8 course tasting menu and some of the items where bland, service was great
Food was excellent service needs to improve a little
Fantastic!!!
Fabulous, as always!
Food and service was amazing. Very small place and the decor was beautiful
The tasting menu in the private room was fabulous!!! And the service was excellent!!
Server was amazing and hostess that greeted us was outstanding
Perfect for fun night with great food and service with girls. Amazing management and team. Thank you
We showed up for a 9:30 reservation and didn’t get seated til 10pm, but only after the bartender left to check on our table. Our server was beyond distracted and was literally running from table to table and we had to ask for our glasses to be refilled from the bottle we purchased that was on ice around the corner. At 11:10, we still had only gotten 2/5 plates we ordered. For the price you pay at this place, everything should be perfect. We eventually approached the manager and only then did we get the rest of our food. He comped our bottle of sake which was appreciated but honestly, the dinner was pretty much ruined. Too bad because the food was actually really good. Kudos to the kitchen but front of house staff and service were not on their game.
Very average food - significantly over priced. Classic miami hide the 15% service fee and add a tip line to the bill. No itemized bill. Calculating food items and backing out cost of drinks, 5 drinks = $100.00 which may not seem like a lot except that 3 were 1/2 pour level sake and 2 were 1.5 oz Suntory whiskey shots. Bad form folks. Have seen this Behavior before in Miami. Its the type of behavior that leads to short lived success.
Amazing food and service. Together with Ember two must hits in the design district.
Kaido was as exceptional as I expected from the master artist, Chef Kilgore. The ambiance was insane, the amazing attention to every single detail was staggering all of which pales in comparison to the level of the actual dining. The food is beyond any level of creativity I've ever seen, as inventive and creative as Alter with a singular focus on all aspects of the mean from visual, texture and aroma. This is a dining experience that cannot be missed. There may be some other excellent restaurants in Miami but none can compare to Kaido as it relates to total dining experience.
It was an amazing dining experience. The maitre d was so accommodating and welcoming. Our waiter Andrew was so knowledgeable about each menu item and drinks. We went with the Miami Spice with an add on of the short ribs which did not disappoint. Vibe was very cool and speakeasy lounge is a sure hit! Can’t wait to return. Thanks to Chef Kilgore who came by our table to say hello!
The food was excellent and also the service
I definable will be back
