Great place to celebrate birthdays! The staff makes a big effort to deliver a fun experience.
Great food and atmosphere. Great happy hour prices. Good service and parking is validated!
Good food, beautiful restaurant. Our aervice was also good. Very attentive despite being under staffed. We will come back.
Food was a little too salty and steeped in butter/oil for my taste. Nice menu, attractive restaurant, good cocktails.
A hidden treasure. Great hibachi food either at your table or not. Food was tasty and ample. Beautiful restaurant
Kabuto stands out among the many choices for sushi and Japanese food. Authentic food, well prepared and presented. Nice ambience and good service.
Delicious food and great services. Definitely will come back!!
We had a reservation for 7 PM, didn’t get seated until 7:30 PM, and the chef didn’t get to our station until 9 PM. If you’re coming here, be aware there’s a staff shortage, so it’ll take MUCH longer for you to be serviced. Eat beforehand :)
Had 530pm reservation but they couldn’t seat us at Hibachi table bc they had a huge party so chefs weren’t available. The manager said he’d buy us the first round of drinks at the bar. Finally started cooking at 7pm. Service was good. Food was good. Sushi as apps was delicious.
First time at Kabuto last night. Waited an hour to be seated. I suppose COVID has created staff shortage. Still a long wait. Restaurant is VERY loud. Seems that the cooking and ventilation systems they bought have noisy mechanisms. Feels like you’re in a train station. Also no noise abatement in restaurant - hard floors and ceilings with close together tables. Hard to talk to each other without yelling. Chef yelling at us to be heard. Chef was fantastic - funny and good cook. Food was very good. Drink was good and strong. Took 2 hours to have dinner. Yikes.
Kabuto is a fun night out. Communal dining yet socially distant and very skilled and entertaining tableside chefs. Food is plentiful and tasty. Wait staff is friendly and present.
Great food and happy hour specials! Our server was very good as well! I will return!
Great atmosphere in newer/modern setting. Very good food, both hibachi and sushi.
Good food ,I’m will try more dishes next time ,nice place
We got good value for our dinner because we had a free birthday meal.
Our sushi was perfect and out hibachi Chef was FANTASTIC! The food was prepared well and fresh. We had 3 x steak and scallops and one filet mignon and chicken. The bar and service were a good bit slow but we will be back.
We had an amazing experience! The chef, server, food, everything was perfect! Such a fun time and the food was delicious. We definitely will be back!
Went with my son we had the best experience. Got seated quickly. Good and service was amazing!
We haven’t been to hibachi since pre-covid and have missed it. This one is near work, but we had never gone. So happy we found it and gave it a try.
Needs more staff- but this is a post covid issue everywhere and we knew (sign posted) that staff was working as quickly as possible.
Good, service and entertainment was great!!!
We will be back!
This is a great neighborhood spot and a bargain in every way. Convenient, validation for parking, great sushi and hibachi, and a delightful performance by the chef preparing your hibachi. Amazingly broad selection of sushi and hibachi choices. Selections are generous. Wonderful for get togethers for couples and families. I am very happy that they came back four months ago after closing last year due to the pandemic.
Very nice restaurant. The food was good and tasty. The staff was prompt and pleasant. The chef was professional and entertaining.
They did a good job and very accomdatting
My friends & I all went for a celebration and It went well!
The food was yummy!
Will come again!
Great food, fun atmosphere! Bday coupon made us try it but we will be back!
Had a great time for my Birthday
Brought a couple we know here. Excellent service and atmosphere was so nice. Server was also very accommodating, checked on us frequently even though we could tell she was very busy. Sushi was delicious as was the hibachi style and appetizers. We will be back!
Overall this was a disappointing experience. The service was extremely slow. They seem very overwhelmed with the number of people who were there on a weeknight.
The food was okay. I've had much better Japanese steakhouse experiences. The fried rice was fried so hard that it was crunchy in some areas. They now do noodles with the fried rice. This was a novel experience but there was almost no flavor to the noodles beyond being drowned in sauce. Most of our party ordered chicken and one person ordered steak. The steak was undercooked when they had asked for it to be medium well. The chicken they used were tenderloins and not breast. I make this as a note because as many of you know a giant tenderloin will also have a giant tendon running through the middle of it this is not pleasant to eat and not something I expect in a quality meal. The knife he was using to cut the chicken must not have been very sharp because many of the pieces were still connected and I had to pull them apart with my fork in order to have a reasonable bite. The vegetables were undercooked the chicken was overcooked. For the shrimp appetizer there were two generous size shrimp. My first one was fine a little overdone but quite edible. The second one I had to spit into my napkin. It was mealy and had an odd flavor.
I would not recommend this restaurant. We were there for over 2 hours because the time in between the courses and the time that we waited to order were so long.
We had an amazing evening there. The place was really busy and they couldn’t sit us on time so the manager invited us to the bar and offered to get a round of drinks while we are waiting. The food was delicious, the performance of the chef was great! Thank you for an amazing night!
I should probably give Kabuto two reviews as our experience when we went there was like the restaurant had 2 personalities, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. We got there a bit early and decided to sit on the sushi side for drinks and a few rolls. The drinks were very good, as was the sushi, and the service was excellent. Our only complaint would be that, even for sushi, we thought the prices were a bit high. It was also quiet enough that we could converse with one another (2 couples), which is sometimes difficult as both my husband and myself have hearing problems. Had we known what awaited us on the other side of the restaurant, I think we would have chosen to remain where we were.
The other side was the typical Japanese steak house, and we shared the table and cooking area with two other couples. I knew it would be difficult, but I did order a steak that no one else at the table had ordered, and I asked the chef to use very little soy sauce on mine as I need to severely limit my sodium intake. However, EVERYTHING was overly salty, and even my husband and our friends left a good part of their dinner uneaten because, even for the average person, it was way too salty. In addition, there were several children in that section, and the staff stirred them up so the sound was way too loud to even hear the person next to you. We had only gone there because they had sent us a twofer for my husband's birthday. I can honestly say that we will never go there again.
They are just understaffed. Chef was great, food was good, server was good she was just very busy.
Would give it a second chance for sure.
Our little guy had so much fun!
Great surprise restaurant! Went there for a birthday celebration. There is free parking in the lot next to the restaurant. Our waitress, Jeni, was very helpful in understanding the options on the menu. The restaurant is decorated nicely and the noise level is very tolerable. The hibachi dishes we ordered were outstanding; i.e., tasty, lots of food, nd included a soup and salad first, the salad dressed with a peanut sauce. My wife ordered salmon and steak and bth were terrific. I had the shrimp dish. I can only say that thank goodness we didn't order appetizers as we took home food we couldn't eat.
Basically, a restaurant to which we will return We gave it 5 stars for a reason.
The hibachi chef was entertaining. He was the best feature of the whole dining experience. The service was palatable but nothing to write home. The waiter took orders and did a piecemeal in bringing in whatever what we ordered, which took way too long more than several minutes. Additionally, their pacing of bringing in soup and salad, which comes before the main course, felt like they were hurting us although there was very little folks in the hibachi room. The food was just heavy with butter and garlic spread, and seasoning, which covers the taste of the whatever protein was selected. I understand this is the cooking method but as we get into more healthy cooking, it would help to be creative it looking into the use of butter and garlic spread. Would I comeback back probably yes, but certainly only to bring friends for the show and after my cholesterol levels become normal.
Reasonably good service. Nice menu but the food was bland. Large portions though.
The hibachi dining area was cluttered with boxes, so ambience wasn’t that great.
Noise levels were excessive and it was impossible to have a conversation.
Perhaps teething problems post pandemic, so will likely give them another shot later.
Very good for the price & qty / quality served.
The food was great and plentiful portions were served. We will definitely go back. Our friends had the sushi and sashimi. We had the hibachi. Service was also top-notch. We will go back again very soon.
Food was very good, service friendly, if slow. Ambience was ok, but it was noisy in the cavernous space even without all the tables full. We would go back, at least until more tables are occupied and it becomes impossible to carry on a conversation with your dining partner.
As with many restaurants on Father's Day, they were crushed with diners but unfortunately not staffed enough to handle it. Our server was nice but harried. The food was good but the service was slow. I liked my experience enough to try again on a regular, non holiday night.
Great place to celebrate a birthday. Not cheap but worth it.
We ate at the Kabuto Hibachi for the first time and had a very enjoyable experience. The Hibachi "show" was fun and the food was very good. We enjoyed the company of two other couples that we had never met before. The parking was free. The room was a bit noisy but not enough to keep us from returning, perhaps when we have out of town guests to entertain.
