Kabuto Hibachi and Sushi
We look forward to serving you and making Kabuto Hibachi & Sushi one of your favorite places to dine out.
Please keep us in mind for your special gatherings as we have beautiful private dining room options available.
The restaurant is kid friendly which is good. The service was good. The staff are attentive. The food is good for the value. I will recommend it to other people.
Great place. Lots of food.
You don’t leave here hungry for sure. The experience is determined by your chef and how much you participate. Bring a larger group to ensure you have a good time. Very loud do not the place to bring your first date. The service was weird and slow at the same time. I asked for iced tea and they brought me Pepsi. They looked at me funny when I didn’t want the Pepsi. Overall drinks were not refilled very quickly regardless of what you were drinking. Still a positive experience that I would repeat.
The hibachi was great, the chef was funny, interactive, and had some crazy skills. The cocktails were also tasty. Will be coming back.
Great atmosphere the wait staff was friendly and personable. Would definitely visit again
This was by far our favorite restaurant we came to when we traveled to D.C. Our sever, BJ was hilarious and made the meal so memorable. We laughed so hard, enjoyed great food, and will always remember the hibachi experience!
Tried this for the first time. The atmosphere is great, but it was not that busy. More advertising should help this. The chef (BJ) was awesome. One of the best hibachi chef's we've had. The food was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. We like hot sake and they only offer their house sake hot. The house sake tasted like hot rice wine vinegar instead of sake. That's the only thing that was disappointing. They have a nice large bar that would be more appealing if there were some bar tables in the large open area. I am sure they could bring in a nice happy hour crowd with the additional tables due to the atmosphere there. We will definitely go back
We weren't sure if we wanted sushi or habachi so we had to sit at the habachi table. The sushi was pretty good...not outstanding but good. The habachi was mediocre.
The problem with sitting at a habachi table is that it is impossible to have a conversation when there are 4 or more people as they want to line you up side by side. We requested a corner, which helped but still not great for conversation. Consider this isn't a place to have a conversation except for the person sitting beside you.
Nice looking place and service was good.
It was our first experience with Japanese food and our first time at Kabuto. We thought the food was good but would stay away from raw fish from now on. This is a sushi place but you can do hibachi which is more like cooked food. Unfortunately we chose not to do hibachi for our first experience with japanese cuisine. We tried.
The service was not that good though, waiting a lot in between dishes. Our waitress forgot to ask us if we wanted desert and we were told by the greeter she was giving us our bill shortly so we mentioned desert and they graciously offered it to us (no choice though, cheesecake or nothing).
My husband ordered a Cognac which came in a kitchen glass. A cognac needs to be poured in a proper sniffer glass to be fully appreciated.
So, overall I would say the experience was not great but we would return to try the Hibachi table.
Great costumer service. Bj is the best chef !!
And the food is delicious !
Wonderful staff, excellent food. We will definitely come back!!
Beautiful restaurant and the food was delicious. They need to work on the service part. Everyone was friendly but the restaurant was empty and took forever to get our drinks and other requested items.
Love this place. The sushi is amazing and so is the hibachi! My husband loved the philly roll and the mango madness roll was my favorite. Our hibachi chef was funny and very entertaining and the service was great!
We enjoyed the experience. Our kids were very entertained by our chef for the evening. Our only complaint and it was minor was that the whole experience was 2 hours plus which is tough with 2 kids under 6.
Loved it! A great experience with the family. My 5 year old had a blast watching, interacting, and eating. It had been a while since my wife and I had done hibachi, and we weren’t sure how two little ones would take to the concept and experience. Now we’re already thinking about when to go back to this new restaurant. Free validated parking right outside the entrance was as simple and convenient as could could be in Rockville. I would highly recommend this place for a special night out.
Great spot for Hibachi in the Rockville/ Gaithersburg area. We usually go to Ziki, and the ambiance here is much better. Much cleaner and the food was great- especially the sushi rolls. Our kids enjoyed the chef too.
the poke bowl was absolutely fantastic and the sushi was outstanding.
Atmosphere is very nice. Food was just average though. Hibachi Chef put on a great show though.
If you’re looking for hibachi in Montgomery County, this is now the place to go. It offers the usual fare with higher quality and a twist. The ambience is sleek and modern, a nice change from the tired old traditional hibachi restaurant. It also has a huge bar lounge area with modern decor and an amazing happy hour menu. Parking lot directly adjacent to restaurant is free with validation.
Super awesome food and our chef was entertaining and so talented! Definitely going again!
Excellent food, chef was best hibachi chef I’ve had in years
Everything was great, the food, the service and love the decor
Food is fresh and delicious, service very friendly!
We had a great experience at the hibachi table. The hibachi chef was so interactive and made my birthday very special . The food was delicious and the service was outstanding
The server Names AC was very attentive
Poor service - ran out of cups, had to wait and wait for service. Got our soup and salad AFTER our main entree and that was only bc we reminded our server. Food worse than other restaurants
Meal was good. Always very irritating when you arrive a couple of minutes before the rest of you party and they won’t seat you.
Servers were not as attentive to customer needs as they should be and hostess seated our group of 3 at the 2 person side of the table and not the 3 person side of the table, and then seated a 2 person party in the middle of the table. We tried to point this out to her, but she was NOT willing to listen to us and her reaction came across as rude.
This was for my daughter’s 18th birthday. Overall she and her friends did not have a positive experience. My daughter felt sick and naseous after eating and her friends also were not able to finish their food.
We have eaten here twice, once at the Hibachi tables and once in the regular restaurant. We enjoyed both meals very much. The Hibachi chefs are talented and fun, and the sushi is excellent. We will be back.
We were promptly greeted and seated, the server was attentive and the chef was engaging and accommodating to our daughter's food choices/wants.
Everything about Kabuto was great except the wait. I understand at hibachi restaurants there is a bit of a wait to try to fill the hibachi table. However, I made my reservation for 7:30pm, didn’t get seated at the table until 8:00pm and food didn’t come out until 8:30pm.
The food was great and we will be back, just not for the hibachi seating option.
Seems like since you they are newly open there are still some kinks to work out. Had a reservation but still called me 3x to confirm and when we got there we still had to wait for table and took a long time to order. Servers friendly - and mix of good food- salad, steak - and average - fried rice was bland. Nice ambience - would give it another try especially now that I know where to park - feee lot with validation behind building
A well-executed Japanese hibachi steakhouse. Our Hibachi Chef was entertaining and the food was good. They also serve sushi. We only had a California roll but it was excellent!
We had a great family dinner. We're so excited to have this new Hibachi restaurant.
We absolutely loved the food and experience. Great restaurant. We will definitely return.
It was simply amazing! It had only opened about a month ago. There was a problem with Open Table overbooking the restaurant due to some glitch or something. But the manager went out of his way to get us seated within 10 minutes of our arrival, and barely 5 minutes past the actual reservation time! Food was spectacular. Hibachi grill experience rivals if not surpasses Benihanas. And the decor was beautiful, current in decor, and very clean. Hibachi chef was very friendly and a lot of fun. Highly recommend it. - MW
The hibachi food was excellent. The "show" aspect was extremely minimal--nice chef, but didn't really do any of the fun tricks or interact much with the crowd. Not sure if this is standard for the restaurant or just this particular chef. The miso soup was cold and not good, which is odd since that seems like an easy one. But, the main courses were cooked perfectly and it's great to have a new hibachi restaurant like this in the area.
Great food made in front of you, no kids entertainment or activities, no fire show for the kids during the hibachi cooking, new restaurant finding their way but will be back to see the improvements.
