Kabuki Japanese Restaurant - Pasadena
The meal was flawless, and our servers were pleasant and efficient (not to mention good looking)...
The food was great, service a little slow but our server was very nice may have just been short staffed. Overall good place for lunch.
It's been several years since I've eaten at Kabuki's and fortunately it hasn't changed. Menu offers a large variety of Japanese food with good value and fresh preparation. Service was fast and attentive and food was good. This restaurant is located in area where there are a lot of restaurants and despite the rain attracted a good number of customers. I will definitely return here to eat!
Food was good but service was beyond horrible. Not sure why but they could not get anything right. Normally would not leave a bad review but this place just did not seem to care. Too many mistakes for me to even list here.
The food is always amazing, the employees are always so awesome they are always on point to help you or to replenish your drinks and food
Quality of food was good, as it must be in a sushi restaurant, but all of the non-sushi dishes were way too salty. Salad, brussels sprouts, soup, were all loaded with sodium. Enough salt to give us headaches. Not recommended for people with high blood pressure or otherwise adverse to high sodium.
Food and service was outstanding!
perfect as always
The waitstaff was very attentive and cooperative with my severe and numerous allergies. (Not many options for one who is allergic to ALL fish and shellfish.) We had a reservation for 5 and they gave us a tatami room and didn't bat an eye when we ended up with 6 and a baby. It was a delightful room for us to talk and celebrate a birthday.
Everyone was very helpful and nice. Service was quick and food was delicious! They even brought out the cutest dessert with Happy Anniversary written on the plate, as we were celebrating. Will definitely be coming back!
Chilean Seabass not Fresh and it smells.
Quality of food is getting worse. One of the dishes didn't taste good at all. It should've been taken back
I ordered the Steamed Pork Gyoza and the Sashimi Omakase Special. My only complaint with the special was the sauces used. I'm not a spice guy and it seemed like that was who this dish served.
I like plain masago, octopus by itself and no sweet or spicy drizzle. The sheer quantity of sashimi in this dish was wonderful and I have several meals for the next few days.
Tawny was a great server, seemed eager to please. Uni not very fresh. Food sometimes very good and other times not so good, not constant. Soup on one visit was so salty it could not be eaten, next time it was perfect. Overall a good value with many choices.
Great lunch specials. Good for business luncheon. I would recommend for children.
Our waiter Marcelo was outstanding. We got our food quickly and he checked on us often.
We ordered a sushi combination and an uni udon. The uni was brown AND cooked when it came out and when inquired with the server, she said that is how it's suppose to look. No, I've had uni udons plus both the menu and the Yelp picture of the same dish AT THE SAME Kabuki have the uni appearing orange-yellow and FRESH! I was disappointed that the server didn't just immediately ask if we would like something else; we had to call for the manager and return the udon. Then the server comp'ed our ice cream but it was already too late, we left with a bad taste in our mouths for this restaurant and the staff.
Miso soup too salty, happy hour saki price error on bill, brought entire order all at once, left off seasoning on poke bowl. Just a bad day for Raphael, not usually like this. We come here for the Poke and Chicken Ramen, always good and will be back.
When we arrived, there was no record of the reservation I made on Open Table. They informed me that they do not accept reservations. I went to this location instead of the Burbank one, in which I am familiar, because no reservations were available in Burbank.
They seemed understaffed for Valentine's Day. Our server had no less that 20 seats at the sushi bar and a full table section (4-6 tables). She also seemed as though she was new and couldn't handled the pressure of such a large amount of people.
Our Sushi Chef was amazing! He basically handled the orders and got on the waitstaff about our service . I received and finished my entire meal (I ordered sushi) prior to my husband receiving his soup which came with his meal.
Then we waited more than 20 minutes for our check, with our dirty dishes in front of us, and no drink refills. I finally got up and requested the check from the hostess. It was an additional 10 minutes before it arrived.
I won't go back to this location.
