After arriving late at our hotel due to heavy traffic. I attempted to contact the restaurant to advise them I would be a few minutes late. HORRIBLE... the phone number listed on their website is wrong, no way to contact them through their web site. Hotel concierge provided a different phone number. Which did not work either. ( I did over 20 min. Of research for the restaurant's number) Could not change the time for the reservation online. And, the Kabuki website - doesn't even have a listing or location for the restaurant I had reservations at. It was a complete nightmare.
My grandson is into everything Japanese and even though he is a picky eater, he enjoyed the food and the experience. It was a part of his Spring Break week.
I had reservations at 2 pm the doors were locked when we arrived and they wouldn’t let me explain they just waved their arms, I even called them and when they answered they said they’ll open the door. Waiting 10 min and they never answered, they were sitting at the podium...
Honestly, this was kind of a let down. We made the reservations early after seeing on the website that there is a happy hour... but there is not. I think in general the place is a bit pricy without it, and the food was slow/did not all come out together. That being said, everything tasted fine/as to be expected.
This is my favorite Sushi place! The food is AMAZING. The service could have been faster, but other than that we really enjoyed ourselves.
Poor service(not rude at all, just clueless) , portions and presentation were terrible. Should have come with my own knife to cut bites into tolerable size.
I ordered a chicken dish and the chicken was raw. Service was also slow and not very apologetic about serving this inedible dish. I will never go here again!!
The quality of the food was poor and one party had chicken that looked under cooked. Beverage glasses were empty for over 25 min before they were refilled. The restaurant only had 3 other tables occupied, so we expected better service.
went to dinner on a Sunday night with a 7pm reservation. started off not so good. when I called to say we were going to be a little bit tardy, they couldn't find my reservation. they found my confirmation by the end of our call. we ended up being only 4 minutes late instead of the 10 minutes I estimated in my call. when we arrived there were at least a dozen tables available and no one waiting. so I'm not sure why they were so concerned about me even having a reservation. service was slow and unattentive, but improved slightly about 3/4 of the way into our dinner when more runners/assistants seemed to appear from nowhere. but it was too late. first impression had already been made, service-wise. food was pretty good. not the best sushi we've ever had, but good. restaurant was clean. atmosphere was very bright and sterile. not recommended for a romantic evening. probably best as a meal before/after shopping since it is in the galleria mall.
This was for business dinner for 11 and we used private room
Manager was very helpful and helped me to select menu for this group
Food was excellent service was great too
We will use here again
The food quality is not advanced expected, and food is served very slowly. Will not recommend it to anyone looking for quality Japanese cruising.
My girlfriends and I met for lunch on the patio one day last week. We were slow to be greeted and served from the beginning and throughout the meal. We were on a lunch break, which is a standard 1 hour break, but due to the very slow service, we were there for 2 hours! Not good.
Our food was tasty and for the price, we were stuffed! BUT, our waters and teas were not refilled once. Too bad the service was so poor, because the quality and quantity of what you can get for lunch doesn't make up for being over an hour late back to work. :(
Kabuki is a great spot to pick up some sushi at the Galleria. It's a little tough to find; it's outside facing the Tollway next door to Grill on the Alley.
The prices were reasonable; not "cheap" per se, but not over the top by any means. The portions were fine and rolls were very good. Service was quick and friendly.
The hostess was kind and professional, but that is where the positive experience ended. My waitress forgot half of the order. I had to flag others down to have my drink refilled. I had to wait 25 minutes, after I had finished my appetizer, to get my entree that the forgot.
The food quality was average. The saki sampler was nice, and interesting.
I will not be going back.
Quick lunch meeting - lots of good food choices at reasonable prices. We had dumplings and a sushi roll, both quite good.
We waited at least 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The restaurant was not full and no manager on site that came by. The miso fish was very salty and the rice were shaped to little cups that equals to less than half a cup. Overpriced and the service was just okay. We can barely understand the server.
Nice venue. Variety menu. Great server but most omportantly, the food is mediocre.
We went to this restaurant on Father's Day and it was wonderful! We will be back.
Quiet , very nice waitress, very mediocre food quality and saki.
Wow, it had been a long time since we had quality service. If there was six stars this establishment would get it...
The food made my fiancé sick. He got the lobster roll which he usually orders from our local sushi place with no problem. However, this was poorly prepared and had a huge pile of creamy lobster haphazardly placed on top. The fact that the texture/mouth feel was unpleasant would be bad enough but the lobster seemed uncooked which is not stated on the menu. I ordered the tempura shrimp and something tasted off with mine as well. Needless to say we will not be eating here again. (Will be sticking to our local, family owned sushi joint). However, I will say our waitress and the manager were certainly gracious. We offered to pay for the meal in full despite the bad experience, however the manager insisted he'd take care of everything & comped the meal for us.
Really liked the place and the food. Learning curve for us as they have some items on the menu not custom to for a Japanese restaurant. The water and manager were very nice and engaging. A- for a first time visit.
Excellent food. Service levels need to be worked on. Lunch is very quiet so no excuse to not provide quick service.
Awesome sushi rolls
Great restaurant! Our first meal at Kabuki Japanese Restaurant was only a couple of months after it opened 2016. On the recent trip to Dallas, we were determined to go back...and were not disappointed. Fabulous food.
I was there for a friend's birthday and our server Britt was absolutely amazing! She made our experience delightful! She even brought out a dessert with a candle in it. I'll definitely come back soon!
Had a delightful time: good food, good service, and good company. Restaurant was not crowded in the slightest so it was possible to engage in candid conversation. Had there been more people, the lack of architectural barriers would not have made that possible.
Good, reliable restaurant. Corporate, predictable meal. No charm or particular character, but good solid dining experience.
Excellent Japanese food that was well prepared and very tasty. The service was excellent and the quanity of food for the price was outstanding. I recommend the seafood dish with the scallops.
Excellent personable service delicious food and beverage served fast and with a smile. This is my new favorite happy hour spot with discounts between 3-6pm yumminess.
The server was great, she gave me a recommendation on what to eat and it was an excellent choice. The atmosphere was great and not noisy at all. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for delicious sushi and great service.
Good Japanese - may get better with a little polish. My wife and I had dinner here and it was a mixed bag. Wait staff seemed a little confused. We ordered 3 "small plates" and then some sushi rolls - they brought out 2 of the small dishes in sequence, then all the sushi rolls at once (plus one we didn't order), then the last small dish out later. Confusing, and not easy to manage on the small table. The small plates were excellent. Good tempura shrimp and vegetables, delicious, smoky shishito peppers with a sweet/savory sauce, and incredible, lean pork belly served fajita style with onions and bell peppers. The sushi rolls were beautiful, but like too many Japanese restaurants these days, were excessively sauced, and ended up tasting much the same. Still, the place is pretty cool and the staff tried hard to please. Maybe with a bit more experience the food and staggering of dishes will improve.
Inexperienced and unsupervised service. Bland, preprepared food. Corporate chain menu. Sushi for people who have never tried sushi or for captive guests of the neighboring hotel. Little to recommend it. Gone in 6 months.
