   The food is excellent but I live in Bed-Stuy, surrounded by excellent Caribbean food. And this feels like it's more for people who want Caribbean food but don't want to leave the lower half of Manhattan. I get it. But for the price, I really expected it to be more elevated.

   Super unique dining experience (which is hard to find in NYC!) with amazing food and even better service. Ann was the BEST - great recommendations, super knowledgeable, and just overall lovely. We'll be back!

   Everything was SO Delicious! And lots of little extras. Staff were all attentive and very warm, friendly, and fun. Loved sitting at the counter and watching the food being prepared!

   Had an outstanding experience at Kabawa celebrating a friend's birthday. The staff was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere and decor created a transportive ambiance, but the food... I don't even know where to begin. The food was amazing from start to finish. Portion sizes were generous and the small touches from the kitchen far exceeded anything we could have imagined. Highlights of an all around wonderful meal were the bread/dip platter, the octopus toston, the goat and skirt steak, and that coconut turnover that I wish was sold separately (even if it's probably best for me that it's not). So many familiar flavors done better than I've ever experienced before. I can't wait to go back!

   This kind of food doesn't really exist in NYC at this level. It's different, it's not what you'd expect, and it also feels like home cooking at the same time. Don't dawdle.

   One of the best meals I've had in NYC in ages! The staff was wonderful - knowledgeable, paying close attention to every detail. Sitting at the counter overlooking the cooking area was a great vibe. It felt like a very special night out (with zero pretension). Can't wait to go back!

   Extremely pricey for what it is. Did not expect to drop $500 for 2 people for the tasting and 2 drinks each.
