Juvia Ratings and Reviews
Good & view outstanding as usual:) we were able to sit outside comfortably despite the cold temps that night! Our waiter was pretty young & inexperienced...having no clue what seltzer was for our cocktails?!! His accent was so strong it was difficult to understand him. Still adore Julia regardless & highy Recc to all👍🏻
Other than the snobby hostess, everything was great. We had a 6:00 RSVP for a party of six (all open tables at that time) and one of the couples was running late due to Basel traffic. The hostess (in a rude tone) said she would not sit us until the late couple arrived. So there we were, the four of us standing awkwardly at the entrance while people began to show up. Our table of six was all set up, empty, waiting for us to sit, but we could not. This is a silly policy.
The view is the best of any restaurant in South Beach. Everyone loved their choices but mine was exceptional. It was the chief special so listen to the waiter when they start talking! A beautiful evening with a full moon over the ocean making it very special.
I was at Juvia to celebrate my birthday and I left disappointed.
I was in a hurry to make the request.
I finally accepted an offer to eat caranguueijo paws, and I understood that the dish was well served, when I saw it only had two legs ... and it cost $ 69.00, a value that was not informed on the menu.
I felt robbed, literally because this should be the 20th. I travel to Miami and I know good restaurants that do not have this practice.
You get very good at RedLobester for this value.
I ended up spending $ 259 on a dinner that I left decapitated, so I will not recommend Juvia.
Imagine ... leaving Brazil, spending a small fortune to spend a few days in Miami, like I do twice a year and feel literally stolen.
I did not want to argue with the attendant not to end my night, but my wife and I left the experience sad.
Surely, I can pay the $ 259.00 for dinner, but I do not like to feel cheated.
The house is beautiful to good music, the meat I ate was great, but the details I told up killed our joy.
Spectacular view. Great service. Dishes are hit or miss. Our main dish scallops were outstanding. Excellent flabor achieved through the use of excellent herbs and spices. But foie gras... Give me a break! Are you kidding me! At $29 they give you cold pate. Side dished for entrees are extra and are on the expensive side.
The final bill is not for the faint of heart, so be prepared.
The most condescending and patronising staff who we have ever come across...especially the Sommelier! Poor service with a rushed vibe and who we felt that we inconvenienced when we had to ask for help with the menu options. Asked to sit outside with a view...sat inside directly below freezing cold air con...and view of a car park...we had 2 options...have a manky second hand establishment issued blanket or move table...moved table and over looked a noisy kitchen. Over priced and lack lustre food...pretentious atmosphere. POOR, POOR and POOR! Would not recommend or visit again. Thanks for ruining a special occasion!
We come to Miami once a year from NYC and make sure we eat at Juvia. This year was perhaps our best time although my special of the day meal risotto with porcini mushrooms and truffles came out uncooked and more like a soup and I had to send it back. I must sa the manager Guillaume Plecy was very kind to come and apologize after our waiter Melo took it back also apologizing. We shared mixed ceviche and the lobster ceviche and both were great. My husband had the king crab risotto which I took a bit till mine was prepared again. It turned out to be a great mushroom risotto with a lot of truffles and perfectly done this time. Senior attention helped. Our sommelier Mattias was great as well. We had a $70 Malbec which actually was no less good than the $400 Pomerol we had had the year before!
We must say Guilllaume, Melo and Mattias made the difference. Guillaume is a great manager, very professional and courteous with e great European touch.
We will be back.
Juvia was everything I hoped for and more. My best friend was visiting from New York so I wanted to take her somewhere nice with great food and Juvia exceeded my expectations, the service was awesome not too overbearing but at the same time attentive. I would recommend this place 100 times.
We’ve been here a couple of times, but this was the first time trying the Brunch. It was amazing! Food was great, service was excellent and the bottomless proseco, mimosa, and bellini was perfect. We were a group of 8 and everyone was extremely satisfied. Its worth every penny!
This was our first visit to Juvia. Found the service spot on from the get go. Loved the cerviche and scallop dishes. My wife had the branzino, which she said was terrific. Beautiful view of downtown Miami Beach from the rooftop. My only gripe is that I do not appreciate having to deal with other guests smoking near me while I am dining- we are not in Europe here and smokers should be required to head downstairs as the second hand smoke is not only unhealthy, but quite bothersome. Had a nice bottle of Donnhoff Reisling, which was priced fairly decently.
