Service was confused on our reservation, very slow, food was cold, bland and very expensive. We probably won’t come back again.
very nice casual dining area in the hotel near the airport.
It took nearly an hour for us to get anything. Appetizers, drinks, and main courses all came out within about 4 minutes of one another. All about an hour after ordering. Salmon was flavorless, steak was unimpressive, flatbread was very tasty. Desserts were also good. Overall though, unimpressed
Excellent Service. Great view of the golf course. Better the expected draft beer selection.
Dine LA menu and food was very good.
No clear entrance - just sitting in the lobby. Sporadic service. Limited lunch options. Food just ok but everything is an add on so salad came out to $24! Definitely not worth that price. Plus $5 for validated parking ($28 if you don’t get validation). Better places to eat in close proximity with free easy parking. I wouldn’t choose this unless I was maybe staying at hotel.
Always a nice place to have a light meal and wine
Cook was unable to book a burger properly - our dinner guest asked that it be cooked with ” no pink” / they failed after 3 attempts. All other goods was mediocre.
I chose this for my birthday brunch- 5 gals at 12:30pm. I had a reservation and there was almost no one there. Still the service was non-existent. We got seated by the hostess and she asked what we wanted to drink. I asked- well we may want champagne or some wine but can we see the menu?
About 15 minutes later she came back with lunch menus. I asked politely- is brunch over? We really wanted brunch. She said- oh that’s a different menu. I asked- can we see it? She said OK and then left. It was another 15 minutes before she returned with lunch menus. We were wondering-did she go home? The place was empty so it’s not like she was too busy.
Well the lunch and brunch menus did not have drinks on them so now we had to ask again for drink menus. I told her - before you leave- bring us some water while we wait. We e now been there 45 minutes with nothing.
Then a new waitress came and brought water and drink menus. I ordered a bottle of wine and a bottomless champagne. I had to ask twice for a refill- hardly bottomless! After 3 I at least felt I got my $19 worth.
The food was brought another 1/2 hour later- the wine was gone and one meal was missing. I asked the wAitress- what’s going on? Are you the cook too? She shook her head and said- just about!!!
The avocado toast was horrible!!! More of a guacamole spread with so much lemon- just horrible. The last meal arrived when we were completely done. Unbelievable. Our wAitress was sweet- I didn’t dock her but the bill was $195 with tip and it was like eating at Denny’s.
She validated parking but I was still requested to pay $26 parking but I refused. I was able to get that waived as I thought I they mixed all our tickets up. Just a total disaster.
It was my birthday and all my guests said- don’t ever bring us here again. Total disappointment.
There was a wedding going on so things were really busy and noisy, although we had the outside area to ourselves. After asking for the check they seem to have forgotten about us so I had to go to the bar and sort it out myself. Food was OK for the price but I feel they should have let us know at the time of booking that there's a wedding going on at the time of our booking.
Great food. Ordered the scallops and chicken meatballs appetizer, and the beet salad. Very good. Buttermilk donuts ok- they were hard, but we ordered them to go.
Mom’s day. Excellent. Please do Father’s Day!!!
The Mother’s Day buffet brunch was exquisite. We had a wonderful time. Service was exceptional. The team went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely experience.
The restaurant is lovely, open air , spacious.
We had wonderful service and the staff were very kind.
My husband and son raved about the steak. I enjoyed the seafood.
Would definitely return.
Best Mothers Day ever staff was amazing food was fresh mimosas kept coming. Live Band was awesome play area for the children was brilliant. The small details put it over the top very happy Mother and wife ! Thank you guys
Lovely spot for lunch with friends - amazing view of the pond and golf course.
Easter Brunch was lovely! Plenty of options except there was no pancakes/waffles/pastries for kids ... which is normally part of a brunch. Plenty of activities for kids- giant Connect Four game, farm animals, Easter Bunny. Etc
Great atmosphere. Not too crowded. Food was very flavorful. Prime rib station was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely go back! Great price for high quality food and endless champagne!
Fantastic food, fantastic service. After the renovation, this place is clean, modern and amazing. The new lobby and restaurant is clean and modern. The food is delicious, the service was top notch.
Delicious food made with fresh ingredients. My husband and I absolutely loved our experience. We had the Halibut and Curry chicken dishes and both finished our entire plate. This restaurant also has a gorgeous view overlooking the golf course and pool. I would highly recommend!
We had a late lunch here after arriving in the westdrift hotel. Fantastic tuna tartare, salads, burger. Didn’t notice the name of the restaurant which has a nice view of the golf course and area.
We looked for a place for dinner but it was late and Valentine’s Day. We found the jute coastal bar and kitchen so made a reservation. Turned out, it was the very place we had just had lunch. Second round in the same day and the experience didn’t disappoint. Again, food was terrific including several more choices.
My friend and I arrived early for our 6:00pm reservations, and the seating area was quite open. It was a Friday night, and the live music was ear-splitting. We and the very gracious hostess had to repeat ourselves to be understood. We opted not to remain for dinner due to the cacophony.
The entry gate for self-parking malfunctioned when we parked at the hotel (not a restaurant issue), and upon leaving, we asked the registration clerk for assistance. Again, all of us had to repeat ourselves to be understood above the singer.
He was marvelous, and gave us a pass to open the exit gate on our way out. He acknowledged the noise level made conversation difficult.
The menu looks great. I am sorry we could not enjoy the food. Perhaps lunch, or dinner on a week-night would be more appropriate to diners who wish to speak to one another during their meal.
No staff was around when we first arrived. But they made up for that in excellent customer service. Really enjoyed the dessert with the strong, hot coffee. It included a delicious grapefruit tequilla drink. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing evening.
excellent waiter
I am not writing your requested lengthy summary
Christmas. Buffet. Great food and awesome ambiance.
Great Christmas brunch. Loved the Chia bowl. Very nice staff. We will go back!!
Positive elements were very good food and great service. Caesar salad was best ever with fresh anchovies...mussels were very good. Cocktails were also mixed very well.
Negativity was due to overall feel and management. Dining area is really part of the lobby (although there is a nice outdoor area) and was totally empty. We were the only ones there for dinner. Plus valets were pleasant but not well organized and didn’t seem to know about validation policy.
It’s a shame because food and service were great.
So the food was quite good, but everything else was beyond awful. Got there for our 7:30 pm reservation and they acted as though we had no reservation and nothing was set for us; we were seated and then waited almost 10 minutes for the waiter to show up for a drink order; never got a wine list so we ordered based on his recommendations; ordered dinner and then waited over 40 minutes for the food to come and at no time did the waiter come to see if we wanted another glass of wine or to refill water; food was served and he never returned to ask how it was or see if we needed anything else; after dinner he cleared half the table and then left to wait on other tables leaving us only partially cleaned; after complaining to the manager and asking for our check the manager brought it (30% discount for awful service) and then never came back to pick it up! We had to ask another server if she would take it to get it paid. Finally the awful waiter came back but never once apologized for the service. In addition, the restaurant is in the lobby of the hotel and was very noisy, and it was very poorly lit. They have a great chef who can prepare a fantastic meal, but everything else about the place is simply terrible. I guess they have enough business from the hotel that they don't need diners from the South Bay. Never going back.
Read a good review on this place, but it was not very good. Limited menu. Overpriced. Food just ok.
Our server was very good. She stopped by to check on us plenty of times. Seeing as we were dining small plates style, we ordered more at least three times.
It has a great view of the golf course which is a nice treat to see open green space. We sat in the "outside" area which is really inside but with wide open windows. It was quiet enough for everyone to hear, which is often an issue for some of us. The food was all very good, if a bit overpriced. Not unreasonably high though.
There is valet and self parking in the garage with validation. The machine was broken and would't take our ticket, but we just pressed the speaker button and they opened the gate remotely.
Lovely waitress, even though we were dining very late!
The food was AMAZING. Nice to find a fabulous new local restaurant.
My husband and I sat outside on the patio with it's beautiful golf course view to have a quiet dinner together. Disrupted by a large table of rowdy men who were very loud. (They should have been in the "bar" area as they were just drinking, not eating). Service was extremely slow. Food was just ok. A little disappointed.
Horrible! Remodel did little to help surroundings. Service was all time low. Walked out before food arrived after waiting an hour from ordering. Do not go.
Great food and really updated
The basic bones of the former Marriott are still there without the staircase that leads to the ground level. This restaurant takes the place of the one that was downstairs and it can be loud. The bar is situated in the middle of the entrance and areas for the restaurant surround the bar then line up at the windows looking at residences and the 9 hole golf course. My friend ordered a bottle of wine, the wait staff delivered the wine open with the cork in and sat it in the middle of the table. When we asked why the staff doesn't pour the wine we were told the staff was not educated about this yet. Hmmm.. ok. So then we ordered a few plates to share. We waited quite a while and when the 1st plate arrived with (per the menu.. fresh avocado as one of the main ingrediants).. my friend mentioned her avocados were brown and would not eat them. It went that way all the way through dinner. Jute needs to work out the kinks before we return. We're locals and we were really hoping this would be a new destination for us. Sadly.. not yet. We'll check in later this year to hopefully see they're actually pouring the ordered bottle of wine and serving the fresh food they reference in their menu.
The food, drinks and service were quite good. Overlooking the golf course is nice.
My only negative is that there isn't really a "dining room". You feel as if you are sitting in the middle of the hallway. It was quiet for conversation, as not crowded at all.
Second time. Again, great food and service. A real gem in Manhattan Beach
We had a great time at Jute. Food and service were wonderful. It’s a new hidden gem in the South Bay!
Some hits and misses. Over priced food/wine. Interesting and delicious cocktails. Strange setting in lobby.
