We are more in favor of visiting vineyards as opposed to tasting rooms. They were very accommodating given they had just opened on limited seatings after the stay at home orders. The atmosphere was quiet and very modern. The wines were not as good as I remembered especially at $20/glass
It was a wonderful experience! We weren't sure what to expect since it was the first weekend of reopening, but it exceeded our expectations! Carson was a very attentive and patient server for our group! Wine was excellent!!!
Great wine great service! Definitely recommend!!!!
Kids should not be allowed to occupy a entire table while parents enjoy drinking. Kids were loud w little parent supervision
Incredible service! There was a delay getting our French fries and they comped the entire meal. They went way beyond necessary to compensate for the delay.
Wine room is very nice and it was nice to do the wine tasting with food
Rafael was extremely helpful about the we nes
We love coming to the tasting room downtown! They were a little short staffed the night we were there but the lady that was helping us did an excellent job considering it looked like she was the only one working. Wines are always consistently delicious and the appetizers were excellent! We will have to try the sliders next time!
Food and wine are both delicious here. Less busy than the main Justin site but we like both locations.
The best wine in downtown Paso! The downtown tasting room offers the same quality pours you get at the vineyard with the convenience of being downtown. The room is sleek and modern, with surprisingly comfortable seating (make a reservation if you want to sit during peak hours).
The place was slammed, but the friendly staff made sure to keep our wine tastings on track. My wife and I each selected a glass to enjoy with our light snack. The menu is limited, but very tasty. Each dish seemed to pair perfectly with their suggested pairing.
The tasting fee is pretty high; but you are tasting quality and expensive wine. Worth the price.
From my first phone call for directions, to the awkward uncomfortable few confusing minutes we spent in the cold, empty room, the only thing I can say is their service was consistent. Consistently poor. No table ready for our "seated tasting experience", though the only souls in the place were the two behind the counter. Credit to the young man, he at least acknowledged our presence. The woman did not do much as squeek, smile or greet us in any way. We were told we could stand for our tasting and they do NOT do pairings. After more questioning they do indeed offer selections of cheese, charcuterie and I believe a few appetizers, which is what we were expecting, paired with a tasting, or flight. I don't know what he meant, "We don't offer pairings, but you can sit at a table if you want", and by this point was not feeling any desire to spend my hard earned money in this establishment. They need to remove the booking option from Open Table or educate the employees on their "Seated tasting options".
We made an Open Table reservation 6 months ago and were disappointed to see the tasting room closed when we arrived. The Tasting Room manager responded to our message and graciously invited us to come back free of charge.
We returned this past weekend and were greeted by the lovely Terri. It was hectic and busy with the downtown event going on but she made us feel right at home! She guided us through the tasting and even shared a bonus pour with us. The wines were delicious! Tasting room was modern, bright and very different than any others we had seen in Paso. We did not get to try the food but look forward to on another visit.
We also have to give Terri kudos for deftly dealing with an inebriated young man that insisted on a tasting even though he needed no more alcohol. Terri was gracious and professional, even when he was rude and inappropriate. She is awesome!
Rafael was a fantastic host. He was perfect for our group of girls. I would definitely go, the wine is fantastic, the food is good and the staff is exceptional.
Great food, Wine, and service!
Great atmosphere, great service, Raphael was very informative and he paid attention to customer service. Well done!
Great stop in Paso Robles and the BEST reds in town! Justification and Isosceles are not to be missed. Tapa style dining that helps make the tasting more enjoyable. The dining is more appetizer options; but helps enjoy the wine more for sure! We shared a cheese plate and lamb meatballs and that worked for light lunch for us!
Very friendly server and great atmosphere. We were three couples and I ended up joining the wine club. I am moving to Paso Robles and plan on enjoying Justin wine frequently.
We enjoyed our experience in the Tasting Room. The food and wine were delicious. We joined the wine club.
As much as we liked the convenience of your downtown location (we had an individual in the group who would not be able to take the long, windy road to Justin Winery because she becomes car sick), it's just not the same. Next time, I'm coming back to Justin and going to your vineyard location. Also, we had a dog with us but unfortunately, there isn't an outside patio for dogs so we had to send my friend's husband and their dog down the street to the corner sports bar.
This is a wine tasting bar with small plates and snacks. This is not a Restaurant. From the Open Table description that wasn’t clear to us when we made the reservation for dinner. The staff treated us well and were very accommodating.
I don't write negative reviews about places but this was very frustrating. I had a post dinner reservation booked through Open Table and was shocked to find the tasting room closed when we walked there from our home. Please make sure you check your availability on Open Table and do not allow reservations for days/times that you are closed. A very disappointing experience that could have been easily averted.
We had such a good time with Terri! Can’t wait to visit again!
We were warmly greeted and welcomed into the modernly decorated downtown tasting room. The sommelier was very friendly and informative, explaining the different wines and wine club options. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting and were so pleased we ordered several bottles to be shipped to us!
I need to be fair and I have to admit I did not take a good look at the menu before reserving my table. This is a true tasting room and not a restaurant. I made the assumption I could get dinner there due to it being on open table. It looked very nice and I am sure the wine is more than likely great. When I looked at the menu it was more like appetizers and small snacks and not dinner, so we left. I would give it a try if I was down town and wanted to do some tasting and maybe just have some light appetizers.
Amazing experience, great wine, and outstanding service.
We wanted to like this as a place as we love the wines, but unfortunately it was a mixture of rushed workers, cold food, and slow service. There needs to be one person attending to those who are there to eat and experience great food/wine paring. Food is set down without any explanation and by the time we got our food (lamb meatballs) they were cold. Loved Deana who served us, but obviously under staffed as she had to run back and forth to work at the tasting room and the diners as well.
There also was a gentleman they sat who wanted to eat, only to be told the kitchen was closed. He stormed out as a result, which I doubt will be back.
We were very disappointed and embarrassed at taking our friends to the tasting room for lunch on April 6. Justin changed the menu/format since our previous visit in October. Even when I made our reservation a few weeks ago they still offered very nice lunch entrees. The new "small plates" format is certainly small!! Four lamb meatballs about the size of a typical chocolate truffle were $18 and the $16 Poutine Frites were basically limp french fries made soggy by some sauce drizzled on top. We told the server/manager Allison how disappointed we were, and she did nothing but say the chef was trying something new. It is not well received, seeing as how we were the only people in the restaurant from noon to 1:45 on a beautiful spring Saturday. We would have been better off just having the wine tasting in the front room. The bad food experience diminished our enjoyment of the wine. We will be cancelling our club membership.
The wine tasting exposed us to more great Justin wines and we learned a lot from our tasting guide. We shared cheese, charcuterie and a small plate and discovered the single varietal glasses were a great value. We’ll be back.
Spent $140 for two steaks and two glasses of wine. Both were good, but we went to In-N-Out after because we were still hungry. We both weigh 110 and 160. For the price tag, I expected more food. Wish we could have had a flight tasting with dinner since the tasting room is 10ft away, but nope.
Decor was slightly sterile but smart. Amazing wine, knowledgeable and relatable staff, just fabulous!!!
Our server was rude. However, the manager Dina corrected the situation.
Good wine, we made a reservation for wine and food pairing but it unfortunately was not available. The hostess was very nice to give us complimentary tasting. Wine was very good. We ordered pate plate but it was inedible. Our hostess was very nice
We were there on a very quiet day (a week before Christmas). The food was very good and attractively prepared. Service excellent and the space is very comfortable. Of course, the wine was sensational.
Wine tasting in the front, great food in the back! Had a delicious lunch meeting with business clients. Was a great space to hold a private conversation while still being in the bustle of downtown. Strip loin steak was perfectly cooked and fries disappeared!
We had a wonderful time, Raphael is so knowledgeable and we had a great time with him. We are wine society members and are happy to see a tasting room downtown
Extraordinary wines, and and fabulous service (thanks, Nicole). Really lovely and memorable. Hope to return.
While they are great winery the downtown restaurant falls way short. Overpriced with very few food selections. The wine pairing is very small amount of wine, like barely an ounce per taste. Way overpriced and you don't get a sense there is any creativity with the minimal completely hidden kitchen. With so many good options to choose from in downtown Paso these days this one will not be back on my list. Good winery, falls very short as a restaurant or even a restaurant/wine service bar combo.
There are so many things to love about JUSTIN, starting with their chic decor as you enter! My wife and I had theater tickets at the Park Street Ballroom, so we grabbed a quick bite and tasted a flight of wine. A friend urged us to try their burger, and it (plus accompanying fries) was spectacular, as was the salad with local goat cheese (yum) tossed with a perfect champagne vinaigrette. There was one slight hiccup: our server departed halfway through our meal/tasting (we ordered 1 flight, and he graciously offered to split it between 2 glasses during our meal)...our new server was great too, but she must not have been told that we were sharing one flight, so we ended up being billed much more than anticipated. We needed to get to our show, so I didn't say anything (the service was impeccable) but will make sure we're careful with our bill next time! P.S. Make sure to taste JUSTIN's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon...wow!!!
