Flavors great, service unacceptably slow until I complained to manager. Price exorbitant.
The three in our party spent $210 which includes one appetizer, three desserts, and the tip. We only had water to drink. We enjoyed the crispy eggplant morsels in the appetizer (eggplant chaat). Our favorite entree was the artichoke mattar which was delicious. The portion was enough for three to share and be happy. The decolonized poussin was also very good, but really only enough for one or two people, and also the highest priced item at $33. Our other items were mushroom korma, garlic naan, and mushroom kulcha. Each of us had falooda for dessert. It was beautiful and was tasty, but not really worth the $16 price. Everything was very well prepared and the service was excellent.
Delicious food supplemented by awesome service! All in all, wonderful experience
The food was outstanding, creative, flavorful and good portions
The service was not good. We waiting long just to get menus, and 45 minutes to get our apps. the waiter was not informed about the ingredients, if you have an dietary restrictions this is not the place to go.
We special ordered simple sautéed vegetables and they brought two plates vs one and charged us $46
Food was not what I would have expected from a Michelin star restaurant. The tikka Chicken was super greasy and fatty and many burnt pieces on it. I was also disappointed with vegan and vegetarian options. Overall, I do not recommend this place.
Terrible service, tasteless food (except kulfi pops), overpriced dishes. Very disappointed. Expected much more from a Michelin Star restaurant. Go to Tamarind for a delicious, reasonably priced meal.
I have never been disappointed at Junoon. Vegetarian dishes really make me happy, they are are top notch here. Meat dishes are just as wonderful. Don’t miss this food!
As much as I loved the food, I was annoyed at the fact that a Michelin star restaurant does not provide a high chair.
The food is always great but surprisingly the service was slow.
I hate to speak poorly regarding service and everyone except our waiter seemed to be very attentive. For whatever reason, our waiter was not attentive. We had to ask for our drinks 20 minutes into our meal. Otherwise, the food and drinks were delicious and the presentation was wonderful.
Everything was delicious and really showed us a little bit of Indian culture. However, I felt like it was a little overpriced.
We went to enjoy the restaurant week menu and it delivered but the staff were not on top of their game. They forgot essential utensils, beverages, brought the table next to us dessert first and assorted other mishaps.
Food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was really nice and attentive. The ambience was also very nice. Clean and spacious restrooms.
The best restaurant week in the city. The portions were great and the flavor was as great as always.
The food at Junoon’s is phenomenal. Junoon’s will always be on my list when I’m in NYC.
The food was just okay. My shrimp entree was served with half cooked shrimp. It was barley warm. The salmon appetizer was very fishy tasting. I was not at all impressed by my dinner. I was less impressed by the flavorless sorbet s. I wonder how they received a Michelin Star? was I just there on an off night? given the price point, I would not give Junoon a second try, there are too many other solid choices.
Delicioso la mejor comida hindú que he probado
Every time I go to Junoon (which is never often enough) I vow to try something new. Then I see GHOST CHILI MURGH TIKKA and MALABAR SHRIMP CURRY on the menu and I can't try something new because I know these 2 dishes are so outstanding! Love Junoon on all levels, the food is genuinely and consistently outstanding.
Service was extremely long
Food is ok
It was my sister’s birthday. To let her know how much I value her existence, I treated her to lunch at the only Michelin starred Indian restaurant in New York. It didn’t hurt that the restaurant was also participating in New York’s Restaurant Week. Perfect opportunity to sample Junoon’s menu without breaking the bank although we opted for the three-course lunch which was not included in the special. We wanted dessert too so three-course meal sufficed.
We had the spicy grilled octopus and a scallop for appetizer. Entree included lamb (my sister) and curried lobster (moi). Complemented with basmati rice and the best Nan ever (light and flaky)! The glass of red Pinot Noir completed the meal.
It was a wonderful lunch experience. My sister said, it’s her new favorite! With the five-star service Rose gave us, I will definitely return. A great place to try upscale Indian food!
Love the salmon appetizer. Went there during restaurant week, great value!
The food and service are excellent. The seasoning is really done well and the fodd is served very attractively. The wait staff is attentive, friendly and informed.
The environment is great. I like the eggplant.
Truly fantastic food. Quiet calm elegant atmosphere. Pricy tho
Absolutely amazing food! Junoon found a great way to make sure the food tasted authentic while still having an upscale twist to each dish that made it unique. I’ll never be able to eat dal from anywhere else the same way ever again. I will most definitely be returning if I’m ever in the city again!
Third visit to Junoon. Food was excellent — the pork belly main was unique for Indian food and was delicious. Service was good. What was missing was the simultaneous presentation of plates that really wowed me on my first visit several years ago. It’s a small touch that with minimal effort creates and impressive experience.
Very limited menu. Indian restaurants usually have many vegetarian options. This establishment had only three mains. It was also incredibly poor value given the high prices. The mushroom dish was about 24 dollars and was a big plate of gravy with about three or four mushrooms. That’s absurd. All of the sides, bread, sauces and chutneys, which are often complementary at other restaurants, we’re from five to ten dollars each here. They were also unwilling or unable to accommodate any special requests or deviations from the set menu. I absolutely would not come back.
They should have clearly advised that they don’t serve branded bottled still water when we ordered it. When the server came to serve water he would go fill up a glass bottle that has the restaurants name on it and poor it in our glasses. I stopped him and asked why he is doing that and then his boss came advising that they have an in house water filteration system that generates water that is as good as evian or fiji water. Well i clearly asked for bottled still water and he should have been very clear from the start. Overall the food was great but that water incident surely isn’t professional especially fir a restaurant that has a michelan star.
Food and Service was excellent
Great food and lots of options. Can’t wait to go back
We had a wonderful family dinner night at Junoon. Most of us were not too familiar with Indian food but out waiter guided us to make the perfect selections and we all could not get enough and even added more. Everything was delicious and the presentation was outstanding. After an initial shaky hostess reception and wait we were thrilled with our evening and look forward to returning.
Food tasted amazing as always!! Appetizer quantity was less. Eggplant chat was a good size. Regardless all 5 Star
Everything is always amazing at this restaurant! The food, the service, the drinks, and the ambiance!
Never disappoints! A wonderful dining experience where I always enjoy trying a new food/flavor.
Went for my husband’s birthday. Service was great and non intrusive. Food was great
Great meal with family and friends. Lovely place to grab a drink, and their appetizers are truly outstanding! Only thing is they change their menu quite frequently, so sometimes you might not find your favorite dish on the menu anymore
The chicken dish was out of this world. The sauce had a slight bite but very tasty
Bye lunch for colleagues
Junoon is the best India restaurant in NYC. I prefer the Patiala room with its more intimate atmosphere than the bigger, somewhat antiseptic main dining room.
Patiala room was quiet when we entered around 6:30pm on a Tuesday night but started filling up after 7pm. So booking in advance recommended. Promp service and excellent food. Ordered mushroom scallop and saloni macchi for starters, paneer and dal makhni with missi roti and garlic naan for mains and falooda for dessert. Appetizer portions are small as expected but mains were decent in size.
This is my go to place for lunch with a team of colleagues who enjoy Indian food. Little fancy but Always very good.
