We have been to Junoon before, and enjoyed it so much that we returned. Sophisticated Indian dining, well beyond the standard Sag Paneer and Bhagan Barta is featured on the menu, along with a high quality of service and sophisticated ambience.
I think the restaurant servers push really hard to sell the “a la carte” menu. Please focus on customers not the product you have.
Food was topnotch!
The portion is ultra skinny ... wine served was way less than 60 ounces
Excellent food and service
Food is very nice, when table had food on it can try to clean more often
Appetizers were very good, but entrees were disappointing, especially in light of the cost.
Food was so so...used to be better, I don't know what happened to them. Am not sure that we'll come back. (we live near by).
A star dining experience replete with scrumptious food.
Despite reservations, the hostess didn’t have our table “reserved” and rude. We eventually got a table but her experience left us disappointed.
Good food, good ambiance.Liked the food selection for vegetarians.
The food and service were excellent. Everything was perfectly spiced. It was a bit pricey, but I would return for that meal. We were celebrating my mother's birthday, and they made a point to make it extra special for her.
Ordered several dishes but the Lamb chops was the favorite. Everything was delicious and service was excellent.
I was a bit weary to dine at Junoon due to some bad ratings online, till a colleague recommended the restaurant to me. I was seated in the Main Dining areas where I was greeted by the staff, it was a bit over staffed but definitely not overwhelming. I had the coconut flavored lobster that was mouthwatering to look at and flavorful in all aspects. Personally, I give Junoon a 10/10 the servers were attentive, knowledgeable in terms of the food and wine. The ambiance was exceptional from the beautiful decor, to the lighting, and the space of the restaurant is large which is always a plus! I will definitely be returning soon.
Amazing food, great service. We ate in the main room which was older and louder with the exposed kitchen (also a little warmer), next time I’d be more interested in dining in the newer dining room.
Everything was just awesome
Great experience
Beautiful place
Service was outstanding
Food was excellent
Friendly staffs
Ghost chicken , octopus, lamps chops telichery duck, and for desert bread pudding and the kulfi pops. Recommend to try.
Also great and creative cocktails
Ambiance, service -- good. Drinks and starters were great. The main course was disappointing for all three of us. The desert was OK. No recommended.
Overrated. Food was served in room temperature. Except average rose/mango kulfi, all the dishes were below average. Everything was edible but expected a lot more from a Michelin star restaurant. The music didn't complement the setting of the restaurant.
Great date place for a third date.
Great experience. Tasting menu with wine pairing was a wonderful find in this restaurant . Every course had a delicate balance of different flavors. Service was superb. Nicely coordinated and non intrusive and well timed. Very good bar program and cocktail list. Adraki punch was yummy.
Very accommodating server
Awesome food. Great ambience. One of the best Indian fare i have had in the USA. Will visit again.
Celebrating my son’s birthday during NYC Restaurant Week has become a tradition. This year we chose Junoon for upscale Indian food. It’s a lovely restaurant with excellent service & delicious food. We tried the eggplant chaat & ghost chili murgh tikka appetizers, chicken & monkfish curries for mains, rice pudding for dessert. The sommelier suggested wine to go with the curries & my son got a piece of chocolate mousse birthday cake. YUM!
The food and service were very great. My friend and I had a really nice evening together. I thought with the restaurant week price, the dish must be small, but it was actually pretty generous!!! I like the shrimp appetizer and the curry main course!!!!!
My girlfriend and I had the restaurant week menu and we liked it a lot. It's an excellent indian restaurant, worth the experience.
There’s a good reason why this restaurant specializing in Indian cuisine consistently has ONE Star Michelin standing, it’s excellent! I have been here several times, both at dining room and the Patiala room, and so far it’s always satisfying in both food and service categories. This week’s visit though was made memorable by the night’s Service Captain (Jay, if I remember it right). I highly recommend this establishment to visiting foodies and locals who are craving for spice and curries. The restaurant week deal menu is also a steal, among the best offered for dinner this year.
Service is terrible for a Michelin 1 star restaurant. The waitress spilled food over on our table and my friend's plate, she did not even change the plate for my friend. They gave us the wrong menu, without apologizing. Also, the waiter forgot to tell us the ingredients of the dessert and turns out I'm allergic to one of the ingredients. The drinks are pretty good - that's one upside. Overall not so pleasant dining experience.
Had a wonderful special evening! The service was impeccable and the food was spot on. This is not your everyday Indian food, this is a sumptuous experience.
It was great in there. Like the new concept . This is my second vidit there. Never went wrong. I got to try some apps and drinks this time. Love the service, very quick and professional. Friendly people. Music was quit loud some time for this kind of valued resturant i prefer moderate music.Overall great service and great food.
The food as well as the ambience was great. The appetizers definitely felt chef style but main course was not extraordinary. Desserts were amazing.
Went during restaurant week. It’s a preset menu. The food is tasty. Service was slow and waiter doesn’t seem to pay much attention - it’s a Michelin Star, service is supposed to be really good.
Drinks were good. They have a Game of Thrones inspired drink menu. I was impressive!
I realized that it’s over hyped.
Great service and outstanding food. Really love the ghost chili chicken and the desert! Great RW experience!
There was a hair embedded in my entree and the chicken was RAW! I complained and management still had the audacity to charge me full price! Food was basic, there’s much better Indian food in NYC.
I was recommended junoon by my friend. So, i celebrated my wife’s birthday there. I thank junoon for such a wonderful time. My wife was very happy. The atmosphere was nice. The service was wonderful. Though there were a lot of people, the staffs served us very well. The food was also very tasty. I will definitely recommend my friends to go there.
This is my first visit in junoon and it was fantastic. One of my friend recommend this restaurant and I was waiting the day.Very great wine list and lots of choices. We had tasting menu with wine pairing and it was great. I do like spice food so for me every course was surprise.I recommend this place if you are looking for experience. I have been to many Indian restaurants and had the same samosas , vindaloos and the same other dishes but in junoon I got to try some different style food with 100% authentic flavores and aromas. One Point I would like to point is if you want done in junoon you have to change your mentality so you can enjoy something different.
A great service with enough knowledgeable servers. Simply and clearly explained food and the drinks.I was amazed when I saw the staff were clearing and dropping the dishes.Very good experience.Being an Indian I am proud to have this kind of food and Michelin star restaurant in New York. Good job team I can't wait to visit again.
I was greeted by a very friendly hostess as soon as I walked in and was seated within 15 minutes.
The captain made some recommendations for our meal which were completely on point because the Lal Mas, although spicy was fantastic and the Junoon spiced naan...Mamma Mia!, The best!
Once done the server surprised us with our dessert, a shahi tukra, with whiskey in it!, The combination just blew our mind! And just before I forget to mention, what an elaborate wine list, we didn't have any wine though...
Definitely coming back!
A highly recommended phenomenal experience!
Thanks Junoon!
I caught up with my girlfriend and we both really enjoyed the experience!
We have been here several times and went during restaurant week. Even though we ordered the RW menu, the portions were ample. We liked that they were not shy on serving some items spicy. The sommelier Ted was very helpful. We will be back soon to order off the regular menu- had many interesting items.
great indian cuisine
I was disappointed by the rigid service and the requirement to order 1 entree per person. We wanted to order several appetizers instead and would have paid the same amount if not more. Either way, it is a pricey restaurant, and I would have expected a much better experience. Drinks were also average and half the tables were empty during prime dinner time on Saturday evening (6:30pm-8:00pm).
The most unpleasant experience. We have been here many times but never has the service been so unpleasant.
