The food here is very good, but there were way to many things wrong with service food, pacing, and atmosphere to want to go back. If you do end up eating here make sure that you get seated in the main dining room....not in the entrance like an afterthought. Look at the menu well in advance and pick out your meal. We had stretches between courses that were 35 minutes with no food when we ordered 5 courses. It took 15 minutes to get a glass of wine. When we spoke with management they said this is "just how it is" during the evening dinner rush. There are equally good places in this area serving the same food with better service and price. Pick those!

The sashimi here is amazing. We tried one of the signature smoked dishes and it was okay; same with the crisp sake maki. The sashimi was melt in your mouth fantastic, as usual. My hot tea started out lukewarm and got cold pretty quickly.

Our server was great, very engaged and accommodating, and our food tended to be available pretty quickly even though we ordered one item at a time. What REALLY bothered me was one of the guys filling water picked up the glasses by the very top, right where you put your mouth. Ugh! I saw him do that through the whole dining room. So gross.

Very good service. The rice was the proper temperature and texture. The scallop with squid ink pasta was one of the nicer dishes I’ve had this year.

This is my second time coming into this beautiful establishment. Standouts for me are the Signature Maki and my all-time favorite, Tamago. Seriously, this is the best tamago I have ever had (I've never been to Japan) but the texture is pillowy and could be pound cake. My boyfriend is a fan of the uni shooter.

I will not come to this restaurant again. They change lots of food style and most of the time they are out of A5 wagyu. The waiter forgot one of my friend's order, and the level standard of nigiri was slide. So disappointed.

I had high hopes for Juno since I had read a few very good reviews on yelp and the Michelin guide mentioned it positively. Not sure if our waiter was new or his general attitude was off but he constantly forgot that we were there, did a poor job explaining anything on the menu ("What's the Unagi roll like" - "Well, it has unagi, rice..."). The food was pretty pricey for what you got (okay, I knew that...). Also, the restaurant closes at 10 which I found out after they sat us for our 9pm reservation. At 10.15 we were the only people in the restaurant quickly trying to finish our bottle of wine while people around us heavily cleaned up. Please, if you don't want people to be there at 10, don't take 9pm reservations and forget about the guests for 30 min.

I would be happy to pay the price for this place if the ambience and the service was good. It's not though.

Best sushi I have had in the city. They do a lot of creative takes on sushi and I would definitely recommend their smoked dishes. It does get a little pricy but worth it to try some unique delicious sushi.

So far best Japanese I’ve tried in Chicago. You obviously can’t compare it to eating in Japan but fish is fresh and tasty. The only problem is that the ambiance is kind of empty and service can be a bit slow.

After trying every single sushi restaurant in Chicago, more than once, we keep coming back to Juno time and time again! We really do try to find a suitable, more affordable, alternative. Unfortunately, nothing else compares. Yes, Juno is noisy at times. Yes, you might wait for your next course for more than a few minutes and yes, you might have buyers remorse after seeing the bill. All that, however, does not take away from the fact that Juno has the freshest, most flavorful and most consistent sushi in Chicago. The Hotate nigiri is to die for. The Aka Ebi is amazing. Spicy Salmon handrolls are like no other. You don’t have to be a foodie to appreciate the perfectly toasted nori that envelops the perfectly seasoned fish. After eating soggy, rubbery, flavorless handrolls and mediocre nigiri over and over, we have come to terms that half of our paycheck will be left at Juno every month. As we have reached this acceptance phase, things like subpar service, long wait times, excess noice and small portions, have become tolerable annoyances.

Overpriced, with very small portions and very limited menu. Also a very rigid manager with a "customer is wrong" perspective. Other high end Japanese restaurants in Chicago, such as Arami, Kaizan, Momotaro do a much better job. So do medium class ones such as Sai, Rolopalooza, etc.

Juno is one of the best sushi places in Chicago. And, because it is not in the river north or west loop areas, I believe it has tremendous value, too. It is much cheaper than other good sushi places in those neighborhoods. It is definitely worth a shot for any sushi lover!

Juno historically has been our favorite sushi place in town and the place I recommended when people wanted sushi. After this experience, I likely will not. After arriving, we were seated under a speaker and before sitting down asked for another table so we could have a conversation over the meal. Despite at least 4 other open 2 tops scattered around the restaurant, we were told we would have to wait for a replacement table. We were taken to the near empty bar to grab a drink while waiting. The bartender was very busy moving glasses around. Despite walking passed us several times, we were never offered a drink. 12 min later, our table was ready and the meal began. As usual, the food start d out amazing. After our first pieces of sushi came out there was a 26 min pause (documented by photos of the food) between plates of sushi (first plate was 4 pieces and second was 6). The waitress apologized for the delay. Around this time a table of 5 people were seated at the table next to us and we noted the couple seated at our original table were having a hard time hearing each other. After waiting 32 min and seeing the 5 top receive a sea of sushi, we became a little annoyed. Added to this, our glasses had run dry of tap water and the bottle of Pelligrino and sake was near empty. We were clearly being ignored. We couldn't get the attention of our waitress but caught the eye of the Maitre d' who I explained what was happening and said we were ready to cancel the remainder of our meal and pay for what we had eaten if some sushi wasn't waiting for us. The waitress came over with our bill and we paid and left. On the way out, I wanted to explain more clearly how out of the normal the experience was. From the start, she was defensive and kept saying that they treat all their guests like VIPs and if we didn't understand how the sushi was being coursed out that was our fault. I think the most disappointing thing was how little the manger cared about our feedback.

I booked a table here a couple of weeks in advance for my boyfriends birthday and we were not disappointed. I read about this place being number one for sushi restaurants in Chicago. I'd have to agree without question. I normally don't care for sushi but I tried nearly everything brought to the table and was completely wowed. The seared scallop and the unagi trio had to have been my favorite. Our server was amazing as well. He was highly knowledgeable and very accommodating for our large group and my many questions. We will definitely be coming back here in the future!

The food took forever...which I would have been ok with, if after waiting for over an hour to be served our main course, they didn't forget my young son's meal. Didn't see our waiter, so I asked another waiter if his food was coming. It never showed. We left and picked up McDonald's on our way home.

Good food, bad service. Very little accountability when asked why food was taking so long. The tables were about 3/4 full and the sushi bar, where we were sitting, was empty. There were six sushi chefs. Good food, slow service. I will not return.

Juno was a last minute decision, and a good one. Don't let the entrance fool you. Once you go past the foyer, it opens into a handsome space. We used to live in this area, and Juno makes me wish we still did.

The food was creative, taking notes from the likes of Alinea, Next, French Laundry, etc. The seafood was incredible fresh and tasty. They offered items that many average sushi restaurants don't.

The ambiance and decor were lovely. It was a touch loud, even though it wasn't very crowded (Wednesday night).

The service was a bit slow, but they were all very friendly and very professional. We'll definitely be back here if we're in the neighborhood.

Juno is one of the better Sushi restaurants north of downtown Chicago. Note they do not pre-make any items. All items are prepared at the time of order, so expect slightly longer wait times after you order. (Ever wonder how your food comes out so fast in other sushi restaurants??) This is one of the reasons Juno has such great food and quality. The service is also way above average.

The food is delicious. My only complaint is the pricing for what you get, which is not a common complaint of mine. These were some of the thinnest cuts of fish I've seen. Now, perhaps they are buying higher quality fish and this is needed to make a profit. However, their drinks were a bit on the high side too, with a glass of wine starting at $14 and $8-9 beers. I don't mind paying for a nice meal and the food was delicious, but the prices seem a bit inflated for what you get. I'd even be fine with the price if the fish cuts were a bit thicker.
