This was our second time eating at Juno and it was just as amazing as the first! While there are a lot of options for sushi in Chicago, Juno is absolutely the best! We’ve eaten at some of the top rated sushi restaurants in NYC, LA and SF, and also lived in Japan for two years. I would put Juno in my all time top 3 restaurants! Not only is the sushi so fresh and delicious, but the service is excellent...the waitstaff is always very friendly and attentive.
First time there. As great as we heard. Family will definitely go back when we want to splurge on Japanese and sushi.
Everything was great. We are still talking about our experience days later.
Fantastic meal and great value for the quality of sushi. Highly recommend the sushi bar for additional sensory experience!
It is really, really expensive
Fantastic service. Great food. Will definitely be back
I have been here three times now and each time I've been uber-impressed. From the food quality to the service, this place is a hidden gem. Far superior to your average (good) sushi place in Chicago.
Wonderful as always
Although good quality, the size of portions are so small. In Los Angeles you would get 2 big pieces of fish in an order of sushi. Not this place, you get one tiny little piece. Really not worth what we paid.
A whole new level of Japanese cuisine. Server couldn’t be nicer or more helpful in guiding us through what could’ve been an intimidating experience. Definitely a place to go back to!
Food was good, everything else was a disappointment. Bad service, long waits.
Nobody greeted us at the front when we arrived. Stood and waited 5 min for hostess to show up. Sushi quality was quite dismal -- boring, small maki rolls without a lot of flavor -- and overpriced. Saki came after we were done with our soup. The Miso soup was also very salty with very few mushrooms in it -- mainly liquid. Very disappointing.
Juno met all of our expectations for food and sushi experience. We had a little issue getting service at first (20 mins after we sat down), but once they realized what happened the waitress was very very good and apologized for the delay.
Would absolutely recommend them if you are looking for a unique experience.
One of our favorite restaurants in the city. We love everything. The cocktail list is great and fun way to set the mood for all that is to come. Don’t miss The King and The Queen.
We celebrated my son’s 16th birthday when we dined here last weekend. We decided to give it a try due to good reviews and it did not disappoint us. The ambiance is very nice. The service is superb. And the food was really great! It is pricey but on occasion like this, it is worth the splurge! We will definitely come back.
My companion and I were stunned at how minuscule the nigiri was. It almost seemed like a joke — “dollhouse food.” It would’ve been fine if the fish was exquisite, but it was only okay. The hamachi crudo was so minuscule it was almost laughable. We go to another sushi place, NIU, that is vastly less fashionable, but the hamachi crudo there is far fresher and more flavorful, and each piece is three or four times the size of Juno’s portions. We also didn’t like the way the waitress poured us a small amount of soy sauce, and provided no extra wasabi. The pretentious implication was that “our sushi is so delicious that it doesn’t need anything extra,” which would’ve been fine if it were true — but it wasn’t. Our waitress also condescendingly informed us that there was “a small dab of wasabi between the fish and the rice,” as if that was some sort of unique preparation! Lastly, fairly early on a Saturday night, they were out of what we wanted most, uni. And the green tea dessert was ridiculously skimpy. After spending far too much money for hardly any food, we were both starving, and had to buy some chicken tenders and curly fries at the movie theatre just to fill up.
great place!have to go
Amazing food. Waiter was awesome.
Amazing food !
You do not get enough food for the money you pay for... that's all I got to say.
Quality of sushi was very good
Food takes TOO LONG
Possibly the best sushi restaurant anywhere. At least as good as any, anywhere
very expensive for what you get. ultra thin slices. although what you get is tasty.
Excellent menu, but be ready for small portions:)
Tasting menu was spectacular- customized to our party. Recommend highly
Having lived in japan for 5 years we don’t always find Chicago sushi satisfying but Juno knows how sushi should be done. Both traditional fare and elegantly updated modern takes on traditional sushi are delicious. Juno is confident enough to serve their fare without tubs of soy sauce on the table. Juno will be a regular spot for us!
The service was really good, and the food ingredients were very fresh. I can tell they use the pretty high quality fish to make the sashimi, which was my favorite!! Definitely will go back again!’
Juno is our favorite restaurant in the city! The Juno King is phenomenal. Great ambiance and service. Food is so fresh.
Great service, food tasted great. Little pricey.
Really small portions... would have rather had higher prices and better slices of fish. Sashimi was so thin that it was hard to taste, not cut appropriately. In general fish quality was bland, service so-so. We had some spilled sauce on our table that sat there throughout the whole meal.
Best sushi in Chicago! Love that they have inventive non-sushi dishes as well so you can mix and match.
All was excellent. We have a handicapped friend and it was a bit difficult for him to negotiate the 2 steps up leading to the restaurant and even more so going down. However, the staff was wonderful and extremely helpful in getting him up and down. It is not to my eye wheelchair accessible but possibly that was not visible to me.
Best Japanese restaurant in Chicago. If you're visiting or a local you should definitely try out Juno. You will not regret it. If I could I would dine here weekly.
Fancy presentations with great fish, very small portions
Great date night spot and awesome sushi! Will be a new favorite for us!
Amazing Sushi & the Presentation was incredible. The sushi is cut on the small side, so you need to order a TON of food. Well worth it..
The food and presentation were extremely good. The pasta with lump crab meat and the queen roll with scallops were the favorite. Their edamame is a very tasty and unique treat too!
This place is extremely loud, there isn't any sound absorption. It seems it's concrete walls and floors without any carpet or sound absorbing accents or paintings.
So if you are expecting a quiet sushi experience the bar is a much better offer. I'm not sure the noise can be fixed but the food and service are exceptional.
Juno is our #1 date spot - we love the staff and the fish is the freshest in all of Chicago.
