The ambiance was lovely. The food was passable but under seasoned. The service was lacking and the menu rather overpriced. But a real surprise was the “admin fee” added to the bill which was not pre-disclosed to our table of 4. When asked about it, our server avoided eye contact, mumbled something about the fee being “shared with the house” and immediately dismissed any follow up questions by simply walking away. Also- this 18% charge was added to our bill pre-tax so we were forced to pay additional sales tax on the fee. If we had not caught this charge before signing off on the bill, we would have added an additional tip on what was overall a lackluster outing. We found this to be a rather underhanded practice and will not be returning.
Nothing special about this restaurant, in my opinion. Service was slow and ambience was boring. Menu offers nothing special, although the food was good. The location is great, easily accessible to all and mid-way between us and many of our friends. Unfortunately, we probably won't be going back. Too many options nearby that are way better.
Cost for 3 girls $ 400.00
not worth it and very little food on the plate!
Just returned from a fabulous dinner at Juniper, located in the Vanderbilt on Corporate Drive in Westbury. The restaurant occupies the former space of Kingfish. We sat in a very spacious rear outdoor patio, which is one of the nicest outdoor spaces we’ve eaten in since Covid began. The inside portion of the restaurant is beautifully done, and would certainly be apropos for any occasion.
Now to the food and service. The menu highlights a raw bar with a wide assortment of oysters, crudo, shrimp, lobster, as well steaks and seafood. We began our meal sharing a very tasty wild mushroom, tallegio cheese and black truffle flatbread. For our entrees we had grilled branzino and center cut tuna steak. Both dishes were prepared perfectly. Many of the menu entree items are ala carte, and we ordered whipped Yukon potatoes and roasted cauliflower as side dishes. Again, both were prepared perfectly. For dessert we had a vanilla bean cheesecake which was accompanied by a berry sorbet, which may be the best tasting sorbet that I’ve ever had.
They have an extensive wine, beer and cocktail menu. The service was very professional, and we’re very knowledgeable of the menu. One item of note, is the menu prices, at first blush, appear to be on the high side, but they include an 18% administration fee in lieu of a tip. You obviously can increase that amount on the final check. I personally like this, and I wish more restaurants did the same, allowing the servers to be properly compensated for a job well done.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I can’t wait to return. Unfortunately, I only took a few photos.
The service is fantastic and absolutely on par with the cost of dining. They do service really well.
The food was good but didn’t wow us; which was disappointing given the prices. The presentation of the food was excellent.
The ambiance of the place is nice. We sat outside with heaters and really enjoyed it. Not sure how it would be if the residents were out using the pool facilities. The inside is nice as well.
Other than the servers confusing who ordered what, the meal was great and the waiter very accommodating. Food was what we expected and we were not rushed.
Always enjoyed eating at Juniper. Friendly service, very good food, and resonable.
Nice will go back. Few choices hopefully they do what they do well.
very unique menu cold peas soup was delicious, pasta lobster special was spicy and delicious a well as the prawns
Food and service was great
Modern, crisp atmosphere with fantastic cocktails and truly delicious cuisine!
Great staff, great food and great vibe
Great food pretty place excellent service ——but very expensive
Excellent food and service. Many vegitgan options and nice choices for everyone.
The food was fantastic!
All was very good !
Although a bit too quiet , expected more of a crowd .
Maybe next time !
A new restaurant still getting on its feet. The waiters were friendly but not knowledgeable of the menu. GF items should be marked on the menu. Menu had interesting choices. The cold pea soup and vegetable risotto were very good and well prepared. The wine is badly overpriced with almost no choices below $60 a bottle.
Well prepared, balanced plates. Excellent. Try anything on the menu and you will be happy.
I took my older daughter here for brunch, we both enjoyed it so much! I got the shakshuka which was incredibly savory, flavorful, and downright delicious! I looked up the recipe and I know I could never replicate it! My daughter got the eggs Benedict (her usual) and it was exceptionally tasty as well. Such great ambiance and cocktails! Great local place for ladies to brunch!
Amazing service and amazing food
I enjoyed the restaurant and the great service. I thought the food was really delicious.
Juniper has only recently opened and has a few opening pains, so I expect them to get better with each visit. The location is really nice, great outdoor patio option, food is really great, and it’s certainly a place I’ll go back to.
Lovely place and delicious food. The Mac and Cheese was especially divine.
We had a wonderful dinner at juniper. The buzz about the fried chicken actually lived up to the hype. It was moist and tender on the inside and incredibly light and crunchy and flavorful. I don’t know how they pulled it off. The double lamb chop was the best lamb I’ve had in a long time. It was expertly prepared and served hot and pink, exactly how I requested. Drinks were delicious and sever very attentive. Don’t miss dessert.
Lovely restaurant. Food is excellent. Service was a bit spotty until I made a remark to the waiter, then it dramatically improved. Loved that the manager came around and introduced himself. Do try this new restaurant
Menu was a bit limited. What we had was very good. Although most restaurants now of this caliber are at a similar price point within a few dollars, this was on the high side, and portions were relatively small. We ate out on the patio, which was a very nice atmosphere. The bar seemed to be quite hopping.
This is a very nice upscale restaurant. We were pleasantly impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the food was quite excellent. It is a new restaurant (replacing one at the same locale that closed during the worst of the pandemic). It deserves a quite successful run! It was nice having the option of outdoors (in an atrium mostly covered) or indoors. Not cheap but highly recommended.
Sea bass was delicious. Server was very attentive. Sat outside with heaters and was very comfortable. Had a delicious fruit dessert in a light and sweet coconut broth. Overall great meal.
Our first visit was a very enjoyable one. We had the "BEST" waitress who is an asset to your organization. Can't find her name at the moment. I was anxiously awaiting the "steak for two" calling to specifically know when it was available because I had read its reviews. I was a little disappointed because I knew the price & was willing to pay but was less than happy with the portion. I think the portion suffered because some of the pieces were VERY fat thus reducing our share. However, the seasoning was 2nd to none & very tender. We enjoyed what of it we could eat. "MAY" give a 2nd try but not silently if not pleased because it's not inexpensive.
Very classy space for Long Island
Food is excellent. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Overall great might
I was wowed by this dining experience from start to finish. First off, the restaurant is gorgeous and had lots of outdoor seating. The service was also stellar. Our waiter Terry was personable and helped in guiding my friend and I through the menu. I had an Aviation to start which led to a second soon after. We shared the wild mushroom flatbread as an app, which was fabulous. I had the duck breast as my entree, which was cooked to perfection and my friend loved her Seabass. We ended with a cheese and fruit plate and toasted a fabulous night out with a glass of red to end the evening. Can't wait to come back!
Nice food, great space and ambience. A little pricey though, into the range of some of Manhattan’s best restaurants.
From the moment you walk in your greeted with a friendly smile. The restaurant is kid friendly, which I was concern about sine I have 3. Since the restaurant is fairly new there was no kids menu but that wasn't a problem, Danny our waiter come up with some suggestions which worked out well for our kids. Keep in mind the portions are small but worth it. We enjoyed our time at Juniper and were able to celebrate my birthday in a beautiful relax environment. Oh almost forgot, there's valet parking, DJ and pool side dining area.
Wanted to thank the entire team at Juniper for doing such a great job in these most difficult of times. The level of service, food, and ambience is top notch. There are many seasoned veterans from the Fine Dining arena that make this an extremely special place. I really look forward to going back.
Lovely ambiance and well staffed. The food good -- fresh and clean-- but portions are disappointing -- especially for the prices. Also, the menu is limited and so should either be routinely changed or specials added.
Note that the gratuity is already built into the bill -- which we had not been told by the staff. Also, an additional fee was added to our martinis because they were straight up -- also something we were not told and who orders a martini on the rocks?
In sum, there is potential but at this point I would not return.
Weird. No parking sat in a side dining room when restaurant was empty. Waiter couldn’t answer basic questions, was not familiar with the menu.
The food is excellent. The service needs improvement. Staff try but need training. Be aware of Admin Fee.
Entrees were delicious. Shrimp cocktail and oysters not so great. Restaurant opened only a week ago and the server was very nice but needs to learn what was on the menu and what things were. I would def try again. And they need to change the lighting for dinner time they need dimmers on the lights- way too bright.
Great spot... Great service. Hard to beat the atmosphere as well. Big high fives to the staff!!!
