Voted to have one of the best charcuterie boards in Vancouver, baking their own bread and highlighting the best local ingredients. You will also find great desserts, fine wines, and by far the best cocktail program in Vancouver!!!
- food was amazing
- the drinks / cocktails were really good.
- I was told our group wouldn’t need to stick to a set menu for New Year’s Eve but when we got there, the server insisted we had to. The menu ended up being great but it was a little annoying
- the server was so slow, so forgetful and clearly did not care. It took an hour before he finally took our food orders. Kept forgetting people’s drinks
- We ordered some foie gras and some of them came with bread and others were just tossed on top of people’s appetizers. We looked at it so confused, and he made up an excuse like “oh foie gras typically comes on top of your appetizer. Not with bread.”
- everything was slow to arrive. We were in there for 3.5 hours and were very late for after dinner plans
- the server also charged us a 20% auto gratuity for “groups of 8 people” even though we were only 7 people. At that point, I was too exhausted to argue.
- we found out that juniper is closing. So I’m guessing this is why the server did not give a damn.
I would recommend this place more for the cocktails than the food. The food is great and I'm not taking away from it at all. I was 3/3 with cocktails, and all three were amazing!
Phenomenal dinner. Had only visited previously for cocktails... However this time went for dinner. So glad we did. Delicious from start to finish. If you like mussels, best I've ever eaten! The Bison was delicious as was the Sturgeon. This place is a must visit! Thanks for a great evening!
Was very good service and food. Service was prompt and the waitress helped me pick one of two of my wonderfully crafted cocktails. Food was delicious. Would definitely go again.
I would recommend Juniper for creative cocktails and the extensive gin list. The decor is quite nice, however, the rooms are VERY noisy, making it difficult to have conversation.
There is a well thought out cocktail menu, with some very interesting options. It was great to see such a gin forward cocktail menu. Also a nice touch using the various types of Fever Tree tonic water and letting the customer use as much or as little as they pleased with their G&T's.
The charcuterie board we had was not well planned, the meats were all very similar in flavour and texture and the cheeses were both semi soft and similar in flavour. More variety in taste and texture are needed to really make the charcuterie shine. Also the small sliced baguette that was included was no where near enough for the platter, additional bread and crackers are needed, again VARIETY! The additional bread we ordered was tasty (especially the sage butter) but it shouldn't be necessary to order extra bread to complete the charcuterie. The vermouth jelly was very interesting, I quite liked it. The pickled vegetables were a nice touch, the beets particularly were very well done. However, the Sundried tomato spread was way to salty, and the the duck pate was much too loose, had more of a thick sauce consistency than pate. Overall, I wouldn't order this item again.
Patrons don't seem to spend much time here, we each had four cocktails over a three and a half hour period, every table in our section turned over at least twice in that time. It seems people come in, have a cocktail and possibly the charcuterie board and then leave. People weren't sticking around for dinner.
Awesome, will highly recommend and come back
We had the vegan board and the bread board. The vegan cheeses were delicious and there was a fantastic array of crisps and chips to dip and spread onto. The lentil pate was yummy and paired well with the vermouth jelly. I had a tasty couple of cocktails as well. Definitely going back for more.
It's OK. There is really no ambiance to mention but the food is very good, the service OK and one of the bathrooms worked. If you are really fussy about washing your hands "after" that could pose a problem.
The food and drink were great and the service was excellent. To be fair, I think we were the only ones in the restaurant so it makes it easier for service to be quick but our server's demeanour, recommendations and attentiveness were stellar. We had the charcuterie, the bread and an order of fried and everything was delightful.
It was a mediocre dining experience - nothing too special for me at least
We had a great time the other night. Not only was service friendly, but all recommended food and drinks that we tried were amazing
Food was slow
Great menu with interesting vegan options. This made for a great supper for my husband and me with our vegan daughter. We shared the vegan gratin as a starter and it was hearty with a delicious vegan cheese sauce. The main course portions were generous and I enjoyed the vegetarian gnocchi while my husband had the duck and my daughter the vegan latke. We all agreed the food was fabulous and we would come again soon!
I made a reservation for 5 but it was for 11 people ever thought I called to let them know I couldn’t make a reso for 16 online, they told me it was gonna be fine.
When we arrived, they have us a small table, the servers helped us a lot but the manager was a bit rude.
They have a few vegetarian dishes to choose from.
The gnocchi is very good.
If you are a Gin drinker, Juniper is a must! They have an extensive cocktail list, and all of the ones I tried were delicious.
Alle top freundlich und zuvorkommend. Essen war ein Erlebnis. Super Küche. Ein Besuch lohnt sich!!!
Delicious food with generous portions. Bonus bubbly with dessert and a candle for my birthday, lovely and thoughtful
Had a great evening at Juniper. Tuesday evening, so the place was quiet. Had the best service we had in a restaurant this year. Amazing server actually. Cocktails on tap are great. Compact but perfect wine list. All available by the glass which we like so we can match a different wine for each course. Food was also excellent. Compact menu as well, including items you don’t see as often in other restaurants (like Buson & duck). Grill squid with my halibut dish was exceptional. The best I ever had. Definitely recommend this place to anyone. We will be back.
We had such a fantastic time at Juniper! You can really tell the care and thought that goes into all of the food and cocktails. The hardest part of the night was deciding what to order, since everything looked so delicious, and the cocktail menu was very extensive, but our server was great at guiding us through the menu and helping us make up our mind. All of our food was cooked perfectly, we couldn’t stop raving about each bite! We can’t wait to come back!
This weas the second time to the restaurant and as I live in the neighborhood there will be many more.
Eric was our server, and his attentiveness was not over the top and not unattentive..just right for four older gals having a special night out.
Chef warren blessed us with a visit to our table to explain some of our selections which was wonderful.
the evening was what I had expected for my out of town guests and they commented how great a restaurant in walking distance from our condo in china town.
Thank you again.

Absolutely wonderful. Would come back again and again!
We have walked by juniper many times as we live in the area and said let’s try it.
We were delighted in our dining experience and will be back in the near future.
It surpasses any other restaurant on the abbott strip.
Beautiful restaurant in the middle of a ghetto. Great food, do not pass up the vegan board appetizer. Carnivore boyfriend ate the whole thing with me. Delicious wine pairings as well. Do not pass this up.
We’ve been to juniper several times, often for cocktails but certainly for dinner too, and this has been the best experience thus far. We were there during negroni week so ordered off their special menu (3 to choose from). I had the watermelon white negroni and he had the one that was not the “baller negroni”). I asked for mine on the rocks instead of over crushed ice and both our were brought that way, even tho his was supposed to be in a flute. The server gave me a bit of a hard time about how hard I put the teeny cork back in the teeny vial but it was also only half a cork so...) He got better as the night went on.
Food was very good. We split everything: the mussels with ‘nduja sausage (delish!), the seared tuna with compressed watermelon (yum!!), the meatballs in tomato sauce (fantastic but the radish garnish did absolutely nothing for the dish) and the duck. The Dijon spätzle that came with the duck was outstanding!! Wow! As were the rest of the accompaniments. The duck itself was probably a little overcooked &!under seasoned but was totally fine. Too full for dessert.
We stuck with cocktails and man, I got some good ones!! The Celtic Knot (loved it!!) followed by something even better that’s coming to the menu soon (akvavit, amaro x 2, coffee bitters?). Would defs go back, for that cocktail alone!
Juniper was recommended by my son. Went there with 2 close friends. The cocktail menu was outstanding if you like gin and, I loved the drinks. Food was very tasty. I had the vegan dish, and I’m not a vegan. Both friends had the pasta in the very best mushroom sauce I’ve ever had. And the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place.
Oh yes Service was efficient and friendly.
I had the halibut and it was the best dish I’ve ever tasted! Not only that but every dish was over the top incredible! Such a special evening for me and my boyfriend, thank you!
Amazing food and service. Great vegetarian and vegan options - thanks Chef Stefano!
First time myself and my boyfriend went to Juniper, and we were not disappointed! The cocktail list was abundant, and everything we ordered was delicious! The food selection was wonderful - and definitely someone were we would go back to as we couldn’t order everything!!
Amazing experience! Took my sister there for her birthday! Thank you to the Juniper team.
Thank You Casandra for the 5 star review! We always appreciate hearing that our hard work is paying off. Hope to see you again soon! Regards, Michael Stadler GM
We went to Juniper Kitchen before a show for the first time. The atmosphere and service is very chill and modern. The menu has many unique and delicious options. Everything we ordered was very good and we would both recommend it and go back in a heartbeat!
Such a wonderful restaurant! Great place to go for a special occasion, date night, or just to treat yourself to some amazing eats in a great atmosphere surrounded by great people. Definitely will be coming back to try more! They went above and beyond for my sisters birthday, adding to a very memorable evening. Chef Warren Chen is remarkably talented, you wont want to miss a chance to taste his fabulous creations!
Thank You so much Alana for the kind review! We very much appreciate the time taken to write the review and cannot wait to serve you again. Chef Warren Chow and I are glad to have given you a great experience. Regards, Michael Stadler GM
Lovely little spot. Loved the roasted veg appetizer. If you love a gin cocktail, this is the place for you.
And a lovely review as well! Thank You so much Melody. Regards, Michael Stadler GM
Exquisite combinations of flavors. The best roasted vegetables I’ve ever had, and the bison was done to perfection. Highly recommend the cocktails, especially “When the smoke clears.”
I appreciate the great review Andrew, though reading it has made me hungry! Hope to serve again soon. Regards, Michael Stadler GM
We had funa nice time at Juniper. Service started kind of aloof, but then picked up through our evening. We ended up connecting with our server. Had fun, good food. Dessert was so-so, trying too hard with too many flavours. Loved the butter!
Thanks for taking the time to pen your review Donna. We have an eclectic staff to say the least but I am glad to hear you made the connection because I am proud of the entire staff and the dedication they show! Regards, Michael Stadler GM
Fantastic drink menu and a super creative menu. A great intimate spot. Service was speedy and friendly.
So glad you enjoyed your experience Lindsay! Thank You for taking the time to review Juniper. Regards, Michael Stadler GM
The food was good but didnt think it was anything special. It was a bit pricey for what it was. The atmosphere is nice but doubt we will be back.
Great cocktails, bar staff very knowledgeable and wowed is with off the cuff conconxtions. But ain’t doing it with love, their lack of engagement with the patrons was robotic.
Thank you for the feed back James. No excuses except to say we have a couple new faces on the bar team that may have been intent on remembering the recipes we have thrown at them. Hopefully you'll stop in again. They are getting more comfortable and hopefully more engaging. Regards, Michael Stadler GM
Service, drinks, ambiance great. Food bad for the $$$
I am dismayed to hear you didn't enjoy the food Mike, but I thank you for the feed back and hope you will give us another try! Regards, Michael Stadler GM
