Food was great! We had the short r
Great experience love this place
Meal from start to finish was fantastic
Incredible food, great atmosphere, and the staff was great with ok point recommendations for us. A little pricey, but what a great evening!
Fantastic food, great staff and just overall some of the most unique dishes I’ve ever tried, they are always delicious.
Food was excellent coupled w great service
Had the Yodel. It was so good I'm back before again before I leave San Diego
Too loud for a date. We made a reservation on a weeknight but still had to wait for a table. The food is good—nothing better than other surrounding restaurants though—but for bang for the buck it’s a fail. Not that I am cheap; I don’t mind spending money for good food. The value just wasn’t there for me. Go here if you are into trends, are a loud professional who likes to hear yourself talk, and don’t mind spending the same money as you would as if you went to Mr. A’s, but without the view or the special service. No dress code so okay to come in sweats. Plus for me!
We had a fantastic time!! The food was awesome!! The service staff were great!!
This was recommended by a family member while we were in San Diego. We really enjoyed the creativity on the menu and found the drinks to also be outstanding. A great dining experience and a place I highly recommend if you are in the San Diego area.
Our server gave us excellent suggestions. Two of us shared a biscuit, 4 small plates and a dessert. It was the perfect amount of food and everything was amazing! I would absolutely go back and try more and get the yodel for dessert again!-
Great food amazing service and we enjoyed every minute of it.
Excellent food. The service was outstanding. The food was superb, different flavors were a very unique experience.
We will definitely go back for a special occasion.
Excellent food from start to finish. Biscuits were a tasty indulgence and the roasted duck (for two) was sublime! Their YODEL dessert is a MUST if you like chocolate even a little bit. In fact, I'd be happy to go back for the biscuits and the yodel.... what a treat!
Food was unique
Seated on time, efficient service, got help ordering wine, food was amazing. The buttermilk biscuit and carne crisp are worth the drive: so good!
Everyone was very attentive and the food, as always, was amazing!!
Had three "bites" which all were good. The sea urchin, Madeline the best. Two small plates, one asparagus(literally)-nothing to be excited about, and some sausage which was plain. The strip steak was chewy and tough with nothing to recommend it. After dining here numerous times and thoroughly enjoying it(i.e. sea urchin butter linguine was outstanding-wish it was still on the menu) this visit was not good at all. We will go once more but if this happens again we will not return.
We all loved it. And we will return because we know we will experience something different and amazing.
Most spectacular was the service.
Beautiful place, great ambience, excellent food, we got our table fast and had outstanding service. The level of knowledge the servers have regarding the menu is impressive, given that the menu is constantly changing. We had a great time celebrating our anniversary!
Good food. Good vibe. Nice staff. Great addition to the burgeoning Little Italy district.
Fantastic, a hit every time.
Amazing food, great service and attention to detail! Well done chef and management! Will definitely return!
Creative menu with fabulous seasonal flavors. The Spring Pea dish was outstanding
Wonderful meal, lovely flavors, prompt service. Only negative - really bad coffee left a disappointed taste at the end of the meal.
So fun. Loved the chefs table option!!!
Great waitstaff and delicious dishes
Food was exceptional. Had a seat at the chef's counter so was able to see all the action, very impressive. Would recommend better exhausts fans given the amount of excellent cooking going on all around.
My 2nd time at Juniper & Ivy (We live in Wisconsin) and we asked the waiter to "surprise us". He nailed all 6 courses. Each plate was better than the next and several times we looked at the ingredients and thought, "this doesn't make sense" but everything worked. That's the magic of Richard Blaise! I hope to go back next time I'm in San Diego.
This was our first visit to Juniper & Ivy, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in San Diego. The menu had so many exciting dishes that we decided to order several "bites" and several small plates. We then split our entree so that we could save room for the delicious desserts. Our waiter was excellent and made us feel very comfortable ordering however we wanted. The atmosphere and the food was elegant, but not stuffy in any way.
Went here for our anniversary. Food was delicious and creative, service was prompt and friendly, wine and cocktails were great. Would recommend this to anyone for a special occasion!
Another grand slam homerun night for Chef Blais and his team! We shared six small plates and could not decide which was the most delectable. Sashimi, duck prosciutto, tongue, abalone, rabbit loin and Wagyu pastrami. Brilliant!! Happy Anniversary to us!!
Celebrating birthday dinner with my husband and son. Delighted to have Selena as our server - we have been so fortunate to know her and have her attentive service for years. Truly a wonderful meal and very fine attention to every detail. There is no better gift to share. Thank you for a great evening.
Outstanding from start to finish. Exquisite food!
I was disappointed but maybe my expectations were too high. The food was OK but probably not up to San Diego excellence. Also, the service was just OK also - while the waitress was very nice - she had us order way too much food. Some of the ingredients were just bland - sunchokes? I would have made the strip dish with brussel sprouts. The Ahi tuna was overcooked which is always a travesty. My wife thought the tables were too close together - I didn't mind. Too many other great choices around - I probably would not go back.
Lower your expectations.
My cocktail was amazing, but the food was mixed. My tuna hand roll was great, the ingredients under the beautiful sea urchin were super salty, and my halibut was over cooked and slightly over seasoned. The server was quick to make me another fish, but it came out over cooked again. I couldn’t tell if it was the kitchen overcooking the fish, or because it sat under the heat lamps in the coconut broth for too long, but to spend $40 on rubbery fish was incredibly disappointing.
Food was absolutely incredible- we loved every single bite, but service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced, waiter not paying attention, it took 20 minutes to even get a glass of water. He left us sitting there on multiple occasions and it felt like we were coaching him through what to do next during our meal. Still would give five stars because of how incredible the food was.
This is our favorite restaurant in San Diego! The service is always fantastic. The food is very creative and delicious. This visit we were able to try many new offerings on the spring menu and we enjoyed all of them. I especially loved the new Spring Pea dish with Meyer lemon and the panne Cotta with candied rhubarb.
We were very pleased with our experience. Everyone from the hostess, lounge area to the table-side staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent! Our favorite was the duck dumplings, but everything was great.
