Excellent from start to finish. Super service and delicious food. Would highly recommend and a great vibe
Service was so terrible (Kasey) that we sat waiting for food for over 15 minutes between courses and this is after asking her to send the food as it was ready. She was over whelmed and had too many tables so we ended up leaving before getting all of our food. Won’t go back.
This is now my favorite restaurant in San Diego! The food was incredible, the staff were friendly and efficient but never hovered. The ambiance was beautiful and the drinks were so fun! I would recommend this place to anyone that asks and am excited to visit again in Jan!
Amazing experience! We went for our anniversary and everyone that greeted us from the hostess to server wished us a happy anniversary. So sweet. The food is amazing, I enjoyed the small bites the most. Restaurant is trendy but not too over the top.
Amazing experience for your taste buds! We met the Chef at KAABOO festival and decided to try his restaurant the next day and we had a great time!
Had dinner with my hubby there this past Sunday for the first time and we LOVE IT!!! The food is delicious and the people their were super nice. Our waitress Jessica was awesome!!! We will be going back for sure!!!
Fantastic all around! Highly recommended.
We cannot say enough on this incredible restaurant. Our favorite place to go when we are in San Diego. Each course was mind blowing. The flavors are to die for, service impeccable. Can’t wait to go back again.
I often tell people that Juniper & Ivy is my favorite restaurant in San Diego and I still stand by that. But, every place has an “off” night and I think that’s what we had on Saturday evening. It was so loud that we couldn’t carry on a conversation with our friends so we focused on the menu and began ordering several dishes to share. We all loved our “small” bites - the Madeleine & spicy tuna rolls. But the rest of our meals were downhill! We all tried the bone marrow and found the toast on both orders to be black and burnt. My husband and I shared the uni pasta dish and even though I specifically told our server I did not like spicy food and she assured me the kitchen would “dial down the spice”, it came out way too spicy for me! The other couple we were with had the seafood stew and thought it was just ok. It seemed to take forever to get drinks too - the bar must have been short staffed or something! Dessert was ok - again, “ok” but certainly not great! When we asked our server how often Richard Blaise visited, she smiled & said maybe once a month if that. I think he needs to get there more often! There are many decent restaurants in Little Italy and unfortunately, Juniper & Ivy has become a bit too complacent for our money!
The food was absolutely outstanding however I did find that the "menu" online and the menu that was provided on my reservation confirmation were both completely different than what the menu actually was at the restaurant not a deal breaker but just kind of annoying. The only other issue encountered at the restaurant itself was the length of time it took to get get a drink delivered to the table in excess of 20 minutes and this occurred (3) separate times and one drink after waiting over 20 minutes was delivered "on the rocks" instead of "up" as ordered..did not bother having it corrected as waiting another 20 minutes was not worth it. Would absolutely go back again though and highly recommend this restaurant to others.
Juniper and ivy is our favorite restaurant in San Diego. Each time we’re there the food and service are better than the last.
Everything amazing, except the duck (supposedly best dish).
Came in for a bachelorette dinner and had the best experience!
I cannot reconcile all the positive reviews I read with the experience we had. It hurts to say, but the food was spectacularly bad. Tomato sauce on the bagel bite tasted like ketchup. Eggplant appetizers were bland and undercooked, with a pretentious and discordant addition of mint. An amazingly fresh cut of tuna was strangled by an indelicate sauce better reserved for much more mediocre filets. But what left an indelibly bad taste in my mouth was the strangely sweet gnocchi with a sauce fit for an ice cream sundae. What an unfortunate representation of San Diego’s food scene. Very disappointed. Only the attentive and friendly service lived up to this restaurant’s billing.
Innovative food, especially seafood, well prepared with fresh veggies and produce.
Had 2 “bites” and 2 “small plates.” Bites were amazing, but the small plates were contrived. Service was A+ from the moment I walked in until I left.
Excellent meal and exceptional service.
Excellent meal. Zach was terrific and steered us in just the right direction. The duck? amazing.
Awesome food and service to match! Loved the ambience: sheik, modern, yet inviting.
Food was excellent!!
We had several small plates and the duck. We enjoyed the small plates, but the duck was amazing. Presentation was also an A+!
This was an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic! A truly great birthday dinner.
Incredible food, service, ambiance. Extremely well done
This place really pays attention to the details. We went for our anniversary and were greeted with a glass of bubbly and each person who served us, wished us a happy anniversary. We decided to order a few bites (which are literally one-bite dishes), 4 small plates, and a dessert rather than getting an entree. The fig bite and smoked sturgeon were to die for. All dishes were creative and delicious. Thanks for a special evening!
We spent our wedding anniversary at Juniper and Ivy. We had a spectacular meal and the service was impeccable. Highlights included the spot prawns, grilled peaches and what was essentially a high end fudge sickle, which my husband says was the best dessert ever.
This is our go to restaurant for special occasions and impressing clients. It never disappoints.
Special thank you to our server, Carlos, who helped make it a wonderful evening!5
Great service, great food, all dishes were served Promtly
Went there with 10 friends for my 40th before going to downtown the rest of the night. Told our waiter we needed to be done by a certain time. Also, since we had a large group, they offered for us to leave it up to them to pick our dishes for all of us to share (omakase), which we took them up on. All the choices were on point, and we were able to finish on time. I’ve dined there before so I already knew the food was excellent, but others who had not were talking about the food for days. All in all, a wonderful experience, as expected. :)
Juniper and Ivy is goin owf
Food sucked. Best thing was bread and butter. Inedible, portion sizes suck if you wanna pay 25 bucks for 2 slices of chicken. I think they look up the most ridiculous ingredients with fancy names possible and add it to their food because i did not understand a thing on the menu. Ive had fancy expensive food in san diego and it tasted 10x better than this. Maybe its just me and my girlfriend but we both couldnt eat more than a bite of anything.
Was good, no issues. Great duck
The food was just “ok”. Our server was either way too busy or simply didn’t check in enough. We waiting about 30 min each time she swung by often with empty drinks. The night before we visited Kettner Exchange which in my opinion was far superior. Not a terrible experience just not somewhere I’d probably return to.
The food was very good. Everything we ate was great. They made out anniversary very special.
The atmosphere is great and the food sounds good but tried several dishes and wasn’t all that impressed. That said, it is highly rated and I would give it another try in the future.
Cocktails are a must have at this establishments. But the small plates are where this place shines.
Great experience! The Yodel is worth seconds!
Fantastic flavors, beautiful presentation, filling portions, helpful staff. Our best meal out in years.
We had a great time. It was our second visit and intend on returning. The waiter Ryan made great recommendations.
