Since we opened this camp 25 years ago, we have focused upon fresh foods for our guests. We know it is difficult to find good meals on the road, especially if you are vegan and vegetarian, and invite you to join us.

You will smell the foods before you walk in, but will see entree's like baby back pork ribs, samosas, ribeye steaks, moussaka, vegan ramen and steamed saffron mussels through our open kitchen. We make easy to assemble fresh bag lunches for the trail, and specialty lunch items for indoor and outdoor dining. Beside items like American breakfast and breakfast burritos you will find signature items like our California breakfast too! All this from fresh, mainly regional sourced, sustainable and some organic healthy foodstuffs.

We invite you to peek into some online reviews in advance. Our breakfast and lunch menus rarely change, however our limited dinner menu does change nightly. This restaurant is family style dining. Accessible restroom, parking and ramp to Cafe.

Lunch was fab - dinner was average. The difference… was how busy they were. For dinner it was rammed - each time I waited in line for drinks or food, it was 30 mins. That’s a long time. Unfortunately they had run out of vegetarian ravioli. Okay I get it was popular. The alternative was a fig salad or veggie parmigiana. Both got a thumbs down from my 19 yr and 21 yr old veggie children. I asked for veggie pizza - as an alternative. Not allowed the team said - only for young children. Okay i get this - but under the circumstances, couldn’t an exception be made? No, we’d get in trouble the team said. Hmmmm it was now 9pm, so not sure how many young children would be having dinner this late? Rules are rules and I get why / but equally, it seems a bit silly / ‘immature’ not to allow the team to make grown up decisions re the pizza - given the circumstances. And by the way - I give this gift of feedback so the team on the ground can be empowered to make and take their own decisions based on who’s standing in front of them - rather than the fear of who’s behind them (even though the manager wasn’t around and would have never known)

The food was delicious. So I give it a good rating. It is a bit quirky; way back from the road (you might think you're lost getting to it), and we had to bus our own tables. I surely wasn't expecting that based on the high prices. Seems like it's oriented to serve the nearby cabins and tourists stopping by for diner are the exception. But like I said, the food was delicious. I would highly recommend, but just set expectations appropriately.

We were surprised that this was a dining room located in a cabin/hostel retreat. Thought it was a diner with table service. Breakfast menu was limited. You go to the counter to order. No orange juice. Room was very noisy with people talking very loudly right next to us and lingering at the door. It was ok - better than the breakfast buffets in El Portal, but not what we were expecting.

Wonderful ambience. There is a warm fire beautiful wood structure. The food was absolutely incredible. I love that there are games there. My husband and I are food. Enjoy playing games together.

Won't be going back! Out of a party of 7, 5 of us got super sick after eating there...but yes I understand it can happen at any restaurant but when I told slash owner/manager he got very defensive and hung up on me! Eventually we got our money back ,but how awful to treat a local like that 😔

Showed up and it was closed. Said the cook didn't show up. Had reservation they could have called and let us know. Have eaten there before and food was great so was disappointed.

Off the road a bit and worth the trip. June bug has real food, a down-home ambiance and much more variety than the other restaurants in the area. We were glad our GPS helped us find it in the dark because we would have missed the turn off otherwise.

Honestly, I really wanted to love this place. It was a little too rustic for my taste and there wasn’t really any good options for dinner. You pay at the counter and they bring the food to you. There is a place to put all your dishes when you’re done. For the price point, I would have expected more of your typical sit down restaurant. Food was alright. I ordered the trout. It came with a shrimp Thai salad on top and rice. I enjoyed the shrimp salad more than the trout. I got pie for dessert and that was the best part. Overall, I think I was just expecting better food than what I received for the price.

This is truly a hidden gem. Food was amazing and 100 times better than a few other places closer to the park. Worth the 20-30 min drive.

Portions are huge! I had the prime rib and it was delicious! I could not even eat half of it. My husband had a cheeseburger and he couldn't finish his either. He also said it was delicious. The lunches and dinners are really good.

This restaurant should not even be on Open Table. This is NOT a sit-down service restaurant. This is- walk you to the counter, place your order and find a seat until called up to get your food. This was a HUGE disappointment as I was taking my husband out to dinner for his 70th birthday. We turned around and left. I’ve been using Ipen Table for years and this is this first time it’s led me wrong but please- remove this restaurant - it’s nit what anyone making a reservation for a nice dinner is looking for - no reservations are even taken there.

We ate in the cafe 2 evenings during our stay at Yosemite Bug. Both times the food was outstanding, by far the best we had anywhere during our 2 week holiday! Steak melted in your mouth and the sweet potato samosas were sooooo tasty! Prices were very reasonable too. There are vegan/vegetarian options each day. 10 out of 10!

We both entered and no instruction how to order or what to do. We went to the till and were greeted by an unfriendly staff member as we ordered two mushroom ravioli, the Vegetarian option. One ravioli had a red item in which looked like meat. When asking the staff what this ingredient was for clarification, it was met with a nonchalant attitude, no one cared, did nothing to reassure me it wasn’t or remedy the situation. They told me it was red pepper as this was in the meal. They took my plate away and removed the item so I could not photograph. Every other ravioli was opened and no other red items to note which is unlikely if the ingredient was actually red pepper. It didn’t cut like pepper, it was more like thin fatty ham as there was streaks of white in it. The staff told me it was red pepper and that it was on the menu on the board, so I double checked and confirmed it wasn’t, this was not listed as an ingredient at all. Multiple staff members shrugged their shoulders and had no consideration for the issue I raised. They told me it was a third party who provided the ravioli, and that it was red pepper. No apology, no effort to remedy the situation or make me feel better about the situation. In addition to that disrespectful situation, there was also burnt garlic bread. Food over salted. The cutlery was dirty. The tables were not cleaned. There were flies everywhere. No straws. Animal heads mounted on the walls of the room. PLEASE don’t eat here even if recommended, food and service was extremely poor and we are a couple who is normally easily pleased and never complain, so it shows the gravity of the situation.

Unique spot with creative menu. Second week of May was quite busy . We were very happy to find all kinds of Vegan options on the menu. Plenty of sitting outside. Very friendly and accommodating stuff. Portions are a little smaller than expected for the price but very fresh ingredients or hot, right off the grill!

First of all this reservation is a joke. The place has no clue for OpenTable reservation as it is open table there! You show up, go to the counter and place your order and your meal is brought to your table number. So do not go in finding a table reserved for you. The staff is friendly there and food is good and fresh

Breakfast Buffett here on a Sunday morning was great. No lack of choices and everything was tasty. The place is great we sat by the huge windows overlooking the trees. Absolutely beautiful

We had dinner here while we stayed at the Yosemite bug. It was a little different then we thought as you walk in get in line and order then go find seating. They had a band playing so there were a lot of people which was fine. Might have been the best steak I’ve ever had. It was excellent.

Giving a lot of grace, my experience may have just been due to it being off season. I ordered the steak medium well and it came very rare. Ended up hugging porcelain all night. My companion got a flatbread that was nothing but “gum” cheese and barely edible. The ambiance is very low key and rustic which fits the theme. Nice view from one side. Probably cozy on a cold night with a fire going. Portions were very large on everything we saw but if it makes you sick not sure that’s a good thing. If I had to eat there again I’d stick to a sandwich.

Wow the food here is fabulous. Love that they change the menu daily and have something for everyone. This was a great finale after hiking all day in Yosemite. Affordable, delicious, and definitely will be back!

We ordered two flat iron steaks —- one rare, and one medium. Rare was perfectly cooked to rare. Medium was more like medium rare /rare. Pizza was subpar but I guess can’t expect best pizza since it isn’t a pizza joint. Overall l, good quality and portion size and clean.

Snowed in we were grateful for world class food at this cozy rustic cabin-like resort just outside of Yosemite with a YARTS stop. They serve breakfast/lunch/ dinner at reasonable prices— we had the best duck confit, vegetarian angloletti, wild boar chili and flat iron steak over two days. They have a kids menu, too. They don’t take reservations and there may be a long line even in a snowstorm with spotty internet (best to have enough cash so it will go faster). You may even bring s’mores after dinner in a do it yourself campfire outside. There’s a nice fireplace and plenty of tables to socially distance or to meet tourists from around the world.

Food was not warm, not great quality and overpriced for Christmas dinner. Staff was disorganized. I feel like the quality of this place had really gone down in recent months, it used to be a go-to but after this experience we probably won’t be back for a while

We visited the bug for my sons 22nd birthday on Christmas Day. The menu was full of dishes we all wanted to try. Between the 6 of us every meal we tried was outstanding. Vegetables were fresh and the meat was cooked perfectly. The blend of flavors and vegetables paired with meats or fish are always the perfect combination. Oh and the lobster bisque was amazing.
