June Bug Cafe
You will smell the foods before you walk in, but will see entree's like baby back pork ribs, samosas, ribeye steaks, moussaka, vegan ramen and steamed saffron mussels through our open kitchen. We make easy to assemble fresh bag lunches for the trail, and specialty lunch items for indoor and outdoor dining. Beside items like American breakfast and breakfast burritos you will find signature items like our California breakfast too! All this from fresh, mainly regional sourced, sustainable and some organic healthy foodstuffs.
We invite you to peek into some online reviews in advance. Our breakfast and lunch menus rarely change, however our limited dinner menu does change nightly. This restaurant is family style dining. Accessible restroom, parking and ramp to Cafe.

We ordered two flat iron steaks —- one rare, and one medium.
Rare was perfectly cooked to rare. Medium was more like medium rare /rare.
Pizza was subpar but I guess can’t expect best pizza since it isn’t a pizza joint.
Overall l, good quality and portion size and clean.
Snowed in we were grateful for world class food at this cozy rustic cabin-like resort just outside of Yosemite with a YARTS stop. They serve breakfast/lunch/ dinner at reasonable prices— we had the best duck confit, vegetarian angloletti, wild boar chili and flat iron steak over two days. They have a kids menu, too. They don’t take reservations and there may be a long line even in a snowstorm with spotty internet (best to have enough cash so it will go faster). You may even bring s’mores after dinner in a do it yourself campfire outside. There’s a nice fireplace and plenty of tables to socially distance or to meet tourists from around the world.
Food was not warm, not great quality and overpriced for Christmas dinner. Staff was disorganized. I feel like the quality of this place had really gone down in recent months, it used to be a go-to but after this experience we probably won’t be back for a while
We visited the bug for my sons 22nd birthday on Christmas Day. The menu was full of dishes we all wanted to try. Between the 6 of us every meal we tried was outstanding. Vegetables were fresh and the meat was cooked perfectly. The blend of flavors and vegetables paired with meats or fish are always the perfect combination. Oh and the lobster bisque was amazing.
Ultimate Christmas experience! Take a snowshoe hike or ski in Yosemite, relax at the spa downstairs from the cafe, then pick from six entrees (there’s something for everyone, vegan and vegetarian, fish, chicken, meat) and five desserts for dinner (oh, and a salad or one of the excellent soups, too!)—we had wild boar and beef brisket, both were soooo good!! My husband polished his plate as usual but I (and most other diners) had plenty of leftovers for lunch next day. It’s always a nice place to come have dinner, but the Christmas menu was really something else, especially with the special desserts like clementine cake. Love this place and the people who run it!!
Best food in MARIPOSA even though you order quick service style and have to bus your own table. This is our second year ordering our Christmas dinner from the bug absolutely wonderful.
If you want to find a great place to enjoy American Dinning, then I recommend this fabulous place where the food is delightfully delicious, and the space is cozy and being displaced elegantly. Highly recommended!!
The Yosemite Bug dining is special. Great ambiance, nice people and great food selection. I would go back in a hot second.
Made a reservation for Thanksgiving. Worst table in the place. Right in front of the door. Some one let thier banshee children run and scream. They told us they ran out of pumpkin 🎃 pie. But offered it to the group behind us in line. Pretty pricey for a hostel. Overrated
Loved having our Thanksgiving meal here! The food was delicious, the staff friendly, and the environment very happy and jolly. All in all, would recommend :) Haven't been on a regular day, but I bet they always serve up great grub.
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, the food was perfect and it was warm and beautiful as always.
I love that this cafe offers legit vegan meals on a regular basis. There are very few places to get vegan meals anywhere in the area. Very good food.
Could not hear ourselves talking since large party next to us was extremely loud playing games. Will ask for a quieter seating next time.
The June Bug Cafe on Thanksgiving Day was just perfect! We did not know what to expect when we chose it for our Thanksgiving dinner since it was in Yosemite and looked like a cabin in the woods. But the food was excellent, the turkey moist and tender, mashed potatoes creamy, stuffing not overly flooded with gravy, and the the brownie for dessert with german chocolate frosting was the perfect ending. The price was the best around for the holiday dinner too. Everyone was friendly and well organized. I would love to go back should we be in that area. Do not hesitate to choose this restaurant.
Outstanding kid’s menu!
We're locals, but the restaurant largely serves people vacationing in Yosemite and staying at the resort. For that reason, it is very casual but also lively, and the service is on the slow side. The food is exceptional, however. My shrimp and grits were perfectly seasoned and cooked. My husband had a delicious steak. We finished off with a slice of cheesecake that matched NY deli standards. All in all, a lovely dinner and a fun experience.
The food was amazing. Our vegan daughter was pleased with her cauliflower topped with sate sauce. I loved my seared scallops on angel hair pasta. My husband enjoyed his lamb tagine. The servings were very large---if we had known we would've split an order. Luckily the hostel style kitchen has a big fridge for leftovers. I marked down service only because one should be aware that it is a place where you order and pay, then bus your own dishes. We loved sitting outside under the stars.
Gourmet level food. Everything was delicious. Can’t wait to eat there again!
So many vegan options! Went there for lunch and had to go back for the vegan breakfast burritos the next day! 3 kinds of vegan pie, apple was amazing and the mango cherry was great too!
We drove 8 hours from San Diego to Yosemite, and needed a good meal for those with discerning tastes. The JuneBug cafe did not disappoint. We Ordered 5 entrees for 5 adults, and could’ve done 3. The carrot ginger dressing on the salad and coconut chicken curry soup were served at the time of placing the order, and both were amazing. The menu rotates with options for a steak, fish, chicken, pasta, vegan, salad, and sandwich. We loved it all. Yelp reviews said it was the locals go-to, and we’re grateful to have read the reviews. It was worth finding. We’ll plan to be back!
Great food! Glad to have a fresh meal when everywhere else offers only fried stuff
