We went at 8:30pm on a Sunday night, closing was 10pm. It was basically us and a few regulars at the bar who were quite noisy. They had clearly been there for some time and were loud, using foul language and talking about things that mama shoulda taught them not to talk about in the presence of a lady. The food was good, albeit pricey. Had one specialty drink and it was good. I wouldn’t go back on account that we were out of town guests and this seems more of a spot for locals that want to hang out and be loud.
Great meal and service, as usual—especially welcome at a difficult time
Glad we had made a reservation as restaurant was packed n a Saturday night! Place was hopping! Our server was a young man who was running in all directions but still managed to get everything out to us on time! Delicious food. Ceviche was to die for as well as my Bullwhip cocktail! We were using a gift voucher we bought through The Wintergreen Nature Foundation’s Fundraising dinner last June....and it was worth every penny! Thank you for donating and thank you for a great night!
The service was terrific. Brian was great. Based on other reviews, we were a bit disappointed in a couple of the dishes. We started with the Brussels, and we were pleasantly surprised by the healthy portion. I ordered the rabbit & sausage etouffee, my wife had the pork tenderloin. Mine was quite tasty and satisfying. The pork, on the other hand, was salty and a little tough. We had the apple pecan tamale for dessert. We each had a bite and sent it back. It was dense and lacking in flavor. We had high hopes. Maybe it was just an off night.
Food and service was great .. nice place . Can’t wait to go back
Seated quickly, server attentive, Fat Tuesday gumbo was great!!! Bartender was 10 out of 10.
I went with a group on a Sunday morning for brunch. Our food came relatively quickly but my French toast was pretty soggy, although the flavor was delicious. There was 1 waitress who was also hosting, and a bartender. The food was not bad, but the service was slower and inefficient. I would try it again though.
Food and service excellent. The only negative is the restaurant was cold and I had to wear my jacket the entire time.
Excellent food and atmosphere. We were seated promptly.
Had a great evening with friends that hadn't been together for 10 years. The Staff was great and took
good care of us and the food was great ( loved those corn cobs mexican style) The only annoying thing was a group of very loud young women who just having fun but not being considerate of us in the next booth. I've been to Junction often and have yet to be disappointed. I also live 4 blocks away which makes a fun walk.
Soggy tacos that were tasteless
Ceviche that was cooked and tough
Server failed to clear the table on several occasions during the evening, including empty glasses and plates
Won’t go back
Great brunch spot! The huevos rancheros with chorizo was amazing!
Everything on the menu sounds great, but nothing has any flavor. Great ideas, but very boring.
Change reservation cancelation process to row step input to eliminate mistaken entries necessitating the customer calling the restaurant to reset the reservation.
Everything else was good.
Our server Liza was very attentive and had a fun and casual persona. All of the food was absolutely incredible as prepared by Chef Chris. We were absolutely blown away with the quality and taste of our meal and will definitely be returning to Junction very soon!
We came for Sunday brunch based on previous positive reviews. It was ok. Nothing great. Probably won’t go back.
Great food and service
We visited Junction during Restaurant Week. We were not disappointed. The cocktails were fantastic. The entrees and appetizers were delicious. We had a few "mehs" regarding the pana cotta, but overall every one of was pleased with the meal, the service and the ambience.
Exceeded our expectations! Excellent food and service!! There were five of us and it was Restaurant Week. We all ordered from the Three Course menu. Every course was amazing and the portions were big! My salmon was phenomenal! We will definitely be back!!
Excellent at usual
Food and and service were lacking. It was our third time there, as we hoped to like the restaurant, but will most likely not return.
Visited during Restaurant Week. The prix fixe menu was rather upscale for the restaurant's regular tex-mex offerings. All our food was excellent -- top sirloin, chicken thighs, and vegie chimichanga mains as were the 1st courses and desserts. Service was very good and attentive without being intrusive. The vibe is very casual with lots of exposed brick. We'll readily return for the regular menu and laid back atmosphere.
Great service. Food was amazing! All of my courses for Restaurant Week were delicious.
Went on Restaurant Week so was a fixed menu which was awesome. Each of us really liked our selections. Highly recommend Junction.
We attended Restaurant Week and prefer restaurants we've never visited before. We hadn't heard much about junction but were pleasantly surprised. From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us almost as if we were friends. Service was excellent!
We tasted a variety of dishes, including appetizers pozole verde and lobster and corn fritters verde; mains vegetarian chimichanga, salmon, chicken, and steak; and both dessert panna cotta and chocolate cake. All were delicious and beautifully presented.
I look forward to returning to Junction and trying their regular menu items.
Very. Nice waitress—efficient & kind. Delivery of apps and dinner perfectly timed. Nice dining experience. Staff treated us like guests not inconveniences. A cut above many establishments in Cville—The Local & Tavola ,to name a few. Will go back soon! Thanks
Excellent food and menu choices. Superb service. Highly recommend and will return o. Next trip to Charlottesville.
Food was yummy and so were the drinks! Definitely worth visiting! Xo
Drinks are interesting and tasty, food was very good. A few negatives: no where to hang a coat!? Come on guys! Barramundi fish was excellent but spice level was way too high! There should be a warning! It was like eating at a Thai restaurant where the spice level was set to high!
Fried oysters and queso fundido were great appetizers and my husband was very happy with his veggie chimichanga. We loved the wood and brick interior and the setting in the hip Belmont area of Charlottesville. Sitting in the corner window allowed us to people watch outside and it kept the noise level down. Julia's service was great!
Sunday Brunch always good and a fun time.
Real menu, real food, fresh cooked in the kitchen as you order.
Lovely service staff.
I love Chef Hart's cooking, having enjoyed it many times when she was at Palladio. She is creative and innovative and has a wonderful sense of bringing flavors together. Unfortunately, I didn't love the foods/flavors on the current menu...I was hoping the ancho falafel would be something different and tasty, but it was dry and ordinary. The Southwest Caesar was interesting, and the salmon was also good. I'm looking forward to Chef Hart's next innovative genre....
Great place to meet friends for lunch or Dinner. We enjoyed everything - appetizers, cocktails, dinner. Good sized portions at a reasonable price. Try the Mexican Street Corn - Yummy
Thanks to Open Table this was a great neighborhood find that was filled with locals, excellent service, drinks and dinner was delicious and not over priced! The vibe was great despite the cold rainy weather!
Great service from Jazz. Not my best food experience at Junction but still good.
Food was great and our server was on top of everything. We were also served our food and cocktails very promptly.
Very cool spot. Delicious drinks. We would return again.
food was cold
love it there but food cold
had no spoon for coffee
First time there. Service was great. Food was good, not great, and that pretty much sums it up. Exception being the tres leches which was awesome.
Very friendly staff and prompt, attentive service. We really enjoyed our appetizer selections and the wine/beer list was fine. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I myself am not a huge Tex/Mex fan but was able to find a salad option that made me happy! We went with our two teenage sons and the meat options were a hit with them.
