Our group of 5 had dinner here prior to a concert at the pavilion. We ordered 3 appetizers that were pretty good- chips seemed stale, pork belly was sweet and delicious, fritters were just OK. The drink selection was great- a variety of beers, mixed drinks, wines at average prices for Charlottesville. Our meals were pretty good as well- menu was small and offered some more exotic options.
Creative and flavorful food.
Would not recommend for brunch.
The rabbit dish was pretty spicy so it wasn’t enjoyable for my boyfriend. I’m not sure the description made it seem as if it would be so spicy.
My shrimp and scallops was awesome.
Great dinner with friends
Awesome outdoor seating. Food and service were great
Imaginative cocktail menu and extensive dessert wine list. Pork belly app with polenta was outstanding, but fried chicken was disappointing, skin under breading was not brown or crispy, would not recommend. Appreciate we were not rushed on a busy Saturday night. Very good service staff.
Steak was under cooked and cold; sent it back twice. They ended up taking it off the bill but this is my second poor experience at Junction and will not be going back.
We had a delightful Sunday brunch sitting outside on spectacular Charlottesville day. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the creative combinations. Everyone was happy with their choices and full! We definitely would come back on another visit!
The food was great and the restaurant interior is really interesting. I enjoyed reading the history of the building presented in the menu.
Definitely recommend Junction!
Great SW fusion experience. Casual and laid back. Try the Habanero Margarita - you won’t Regret it!
Felt very rushed by the server despite the restaurant not being crowded
Thanks For t i during i q
Stopped in for an early Saturday dinner with friends. The service was attentive, and not overwhelming. The server seemed knowledgeable about many of the wines on the wine list, and she approved of our pick. When ordering our appetizers and entrees she was helpful in describing what was shareable (did we need a regular or larger serving of the Brussels sprouts, let's say) and made sure that I understood that the seafood dish I ordered with olives and capers would be on the salty side, because olives and capers ARE salty. :) The gentlemen ordered duck, it came on the rare side, as it should, but our friend didn't want to make a fuss and send his back...he ate it up. We shared the flour-less chocolate cake with some espresso coffee ice cream on the side. A solid dinner, great service, and at a reasonable price.
Really appreciate the fact that you have a parking lot!!
Although a lot of brick walls, the curtains help absorb some of the noise and I am able to converse with my fellow diners!
Wonderful as always
Drinks and service was great although the mixed drinks were a bit pricey. The food we ate was very good but we were disappointed not to have the full menu available due to the extension of the restaurant week menu.
There were very few things to choose from although what we picked we enjoyed. The Brussels sprouts were awesome.
Junction. never disappoints with inventive menu and great cocktails. We had the Restaurant Week menu which was fabulous. Wonderful ceviche and flourless chocolate cake!
First visit. It was a cool restaurant, decor very nice. It was restaurant week so a set menu. Food was excellent and well priced. Would definitely go again.
I have been here several times and have enjoyed it each time.
Food was great, served quickly.
There was an excellent beer selection as well.
Great drinks, cool space. Super rude server, unfortunately, not a single smile or kind word to say. What’s the point? Just be nice, like we were to you. Food was very one note. Won’t go back.
Thank you for the feedback Kathleen. I'm very sorry to hear you had such a disappointing experience, our service is typically very highly rated. I'd love to hear more, and see if there's anything I can do to earn another chance to impress you. If you'd like, you can reach me directly at the restaurant, or fill out an inquiry form on the "contact us" page of our website and I'll get back to you immediately. -Will
Great food, good service.
The only negative I had was that the restaurant was so loud that I couldn't have a conversation with my partner - made worse by a group of people shrieking and talking at the top of their lungs. At my table, the noise registered 90 dB on the noise meter on my phone - almost painful. The food was not as enjoyable as it could be with that level of noise. It was to hot and steamy to sit outside (which would have been quieter).
I'd go again but try to pick a night that is not so painfully loud.
Salmon was bland; steak had a gross sweet sauce; and every meal was way overpriced. Service was good.
Love the food and margaritas! So fresh and innovative.
good food ok service fair value could be cleaner. everything had alot of spice
Meal was excellent, though it took awhile to come.
We sat outside on a beautiful Friday evening. Our drinks were delicious (I highly recommend the Paloma and Margarita), as was our food. Server was attentive and engaged. Lovely night out.
Perfectly poached eggs .. server Bella is amazing !
Delicious meal, wonderful service. We tried the chicharrones, duck, pork wrapped in a lot of tasty stuff, and the tres leches cake. All fantastic. We will definitely go back again!
We were a party of 7 o a Saturday night so this review must be taken in that context (also, perhaps, the fact, the 3 of the party are in our 70's!). The only thing to mar our delicious evening at The Junction was a loud (probably 20-something) party seated not far away from us. The service was impeccable--and the food wonderful!
Our experience was probably not typical, but it was not good. Our waitress was in training and it showed. My wife ordered the vera cruz and asked if she could have the side from the fish special instead of the one that comes with the dish. The waitress said that would be fine. After a short wait, we were informed that they were out of the vera cruz. There was a very long wait for the waitress to return to take my wife's next selection. She recommended the shrimp enchiladas. Then, they brought my meal along with the complete fish special dish for my wife... She had only asked for the side that came with that as a substitution, not the whole dish. They apologized and eventually showed up with the enchiladas which were swimming in oil and had only 3 or 4 nickel sized shrimp in each. It was not an appetizing dish. My wife sent that back and then ordered a salad just so she could have something to eat. On the bright side, they comped the salad and did not charge for the enchiladas (or the fish that we did not order in the first place).
Had to call the waiter over whenever he walked by as he never glanced at our table or made eye contact. Trying too hard to make creative drinks which are honestly terrible & Very expensive. Drinks also took way too long to be delivered. Our main dish special was good but we ordered the Brussel sprouts to go with it which were super oily & completely burnt. We left the entire plate uneaten. We love the atmosphere but will probably not be back unless we sit at the bar and only have a beer. 😣
We were seated quickly but server was slow to greet us, space was noisy, and food was heavy.
Junction offers a slightly different twist on Southwestern foods. Their brussels sprouts roasted with pork belly is a cacaphony of flavors on the tongue and not to be missed! Mains range from falafel over coconut/lime rice with spiralized veggies, to duck breast, to steak. My preference is outside under the roof overhang, but the interior is also very comfortale and a little quieter. Service has always been exceptional, and your servers will make suggesttions when solicited.
We ate brunch outside on the porch on a beautiful Sunday. Great food, great ambiance, great service.
Great food and great service-only complaint is that 2 out of the 4 people in our party were served their dishes a long time before the other 2 in our party got their food. Food was great and service otherwise was great too. Our glasses always filled.
Junction is a charming restaurant with excellent service, but the food did not match it. The chips and dip trio was bland and tasted like it was store-bought and the sirloin was overly charred and bitter-tasting. The cocktails we got were good, but honestly we won’t be returning for just cocktails. Junction did not meet our expectations at all. I’m surprised that the ownership hasn’t made improvements already to the menu given that The Local is so good (and partly the reason we tried Junction). I don’t see this restaurant lasting very long without some changes. This town has so much better competition.
Enjoyed an evening on the deck upstairs. Both the salmon and swordfish were excellent. Service was attentive but never hovering. Over a great experience
Best service and food in town!!
