Great food and service
Options for all tastes with vegetarian dishes
Great cocktails too
Great experience, great food, great value. This place is a home run!
Went as a family for a birthday dinner and absolutely everything was delicious. We all shared the Alsatian tart and a side of brussel sprouts as starters, both of which were incredible. For entrees we had the Bolognese, the Lamb Tagine, and the Chicken kabob and all were amazing. We didn't do dessert, but they brought a sparkler for my birthday, which was a nice touch. The place feels very special - the dining room is very pretty! All in all I was very pleased and it was a great choice for a birthday dinner!
Me and my mom went for her birthday and it was an overall great experience. The service was really great and our waiter repeatedly wished my mom a happy birthday and made sure that her birthday went great. I had the filet mignon which was overall very good but had a little too much spice/pepper. I also had a salad to start which was a little bland and which I thought could have used a little more crunch to it. We got the creme brûlée for desert which was really good and I think the best part of the meal. The dinner rolls were also pretty yummy but somewhat plain. I would come here again!
Very nice place with excellent service
I am never disappointed at Julii. It always has good food and great service. My only wish is that they change the menu more often. Either that or have some specials. I go so often to Julii that I have tried almost everything on the menu.
Extremely ridiculous limited lunch menu!! What they list as main course is like an appetizer
Pastries list is a croissant or similar danish - never seen that listed as lunch/dinner pastry anywhere - even breakfast offer more - should have apple tart or similar
There kouign amann dessert is a vulgar dry brioche when should be testing and dripping butter (french Brittany specialty) obviously the owner nor the chef are from there and don’t know - therefore shouldn’t do something they are not good at it! Don’t insult culture!🤦♀️
Not impressed by the croque monsieur dry - should go to culinary school to Learn how to do a real béchamel sauce instead serving that grey plop!👎
I went there for dinner the first time they opened and was not impressed by anything there - this time I have tried lunch with my friends and that is my/our last time - restaurant try to do something which is not there - I suggested the first time they could have better success if they offer a 3 courses menu since they have a small kitchen - bad experience - that restaurant has nothing like Mediterranean nor European- staff is untrained and sometime rude
Julii is a gem! Everything there felt well thought out and precious. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Love this place - consistently great experience. Beautiful decor. Staff is so well trained and polite.
Will come back again!
We went on a Sunday night at 7:00 pm, and they were out of the burger and the pasta bolognese. The menu is very limited to begin with, which is not a problem in and of itself, unless of course the restaurant runs out of 2 of the most basic items early in the evening, and there are only 4 or 5 (maybe 6) other dishes to choose from. The food that was available was mediocre: a stuffed cabbage with barely any stuffing (rice and mushrooms); a sad looking and boring tasting Niçoise salad; and a mushy crab cake. The lamb tagine got good reviews, however.
Love the hostess. Sat us quickly in a desired outdoor table. Took over 20 minutes to get water. Longer to place our order. One menu item was sold out. Service remained slow for the duration of the meal. Entres were tasty. Ordered several glasses of wine (expensive). Each glass pour was a VERY small serving. Beer was poured 3/4 full. Love the concept and food. However, the slow (but nice) service and cheap pours left me feeling bad. Unsure if i'd return.
We always try to get an outside table because it's the same great food but quieter and warmer outside than in - our only complaint, in fact, is that it's always freezing cold inside - so much that I shiver even when wearing a sweater. Food is fantastic, service is friendly but professional, and the drinks are amazing and wonderful.
We went here today for an early birthday celebration with my family (party of 5). We had a great experience after trying out the following dishes: the breakfast burger, the shakshuka the crepe and the bagel service were all excellent. The only problem is the bagel was a bit dense and they only had one kind (no sesame, no multigrain choices for example) but the toppings and the tuna salad and salmon were great.
Really enjoyed our experience at Julii. My wife and I were celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary and Julii went above-and-beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time.
We were seated right away upon checking in with the hostess. Service was very professional, courteous and efficient. Our waiter also liked joking with us as well, and checked in on us throughout the meal. The food was well-prepared, beautifully presented, and very good. We shared the foie appetizer and Alsatian tart. I had the crispy cauliflower entree, which was generously portioned, flavorful and unique. Will definitely come back for dinner again and try brunch as well.
The food was perfectly seasoned but the portion was small. I tried the crispy trout. The beverages were curated and delicious! The service was as expected
Our group was disappointed in Julii. The restaurant is lovely, and the service was good, but the food was average. Our server highly recommended the croque monsieur, but the 2 of us who ordered it were not impressed. The friend who had the avocado toast rated it okay. We were excited to try this restaurant, but it didn't meet our hopes.
Excellent! So glad to have a fine-dining option in Rockville/North Bethesda. All of our dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the server was able to make recommendations on serving sizes and number and order of small plates. We look forward to going back. Definitely make reservations; the dining room is small.
This was my second trip to Jilli’s for lunch. The first time there were eight of us to celebrate a birthday. We all got complimentary cookies and we enjoyed it very much.
This time we were only three for a birthday. Food was still good . Service not quite as good but still reliable. Missed the complimentaries.
We had a delightful lunch but was a bit surprised to learn they offer only brunch items on the weekends. One person had the steak and eggs entree and raved about it. It looked wonderful, and I’ll definitely go back for it. But was the Nutella crepe was also very good. It’s a wonderful newish venue with good food and attentive service.
This meal had potential to be so much better than it was...however major flaws in food temp and the fact that most dishes we tried lacked the 'wow' bite we eagerly anticipated in choosing this restaurant having read others reviews kept my rating to two open table stars at best. Two of the starters came out luke warm. We sent them back both times. It was our anniversary meal and we were hoping for so much more than what was delivered. The souffle for dessert isn't worth the 35 minute wait either...needs some whip cream or a canelle of vanilla ice cream to go with it. Won't be returning....Many other new restaurants to try at Pike and Rose. I wanted to love this spot....but it failed on execution. and brightness of unique flavors.
This was my 4th times at Julii. We had to look for or ask for our server a couple of times even though the restaurant was pretty empty. The food was tasty though. I had noted that I was taking 2 friends out for their birthdays. Nothing was said or offered .... a nice touch would have been a birthday treat..... many restaurants do that!
Ambiance, service exceptional. A welcome addition to the Pike & Rose dining experience.
Great Restaurant, food was excellent with phenomenal service.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friend's home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The trout was amazing and the brussels sprouts were really yummy. Everyone loved the chocolate souffle and the profiteroles. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
Scallops were extremely sweet and fresh. Chocolate soufflé (ordered at beginning of meal) was delicious!
Wonderful stand alone restaurant located in Pike and Rose area. There is no parking at the Restaurant but there are garages close by.
Service was attentive and food came out fast. I ordered the scallops and they were delicious - perfectly cooked and well seasoned. It was my first time a Julii and can't wait for my next visit. Definitely will recommend this restaurant to friends.
I continue to enjoy and appreciate dining here at Julii. I think my friend will come again and I continue recommending Julii to friends and others at my condo.
Definitely on the repeat list. Salad nicoise was outstanding.
Small and quiet, delicious food. A bit pricey but worth the treat.
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Julii and they treated us like it was our wedding day! So special, they even gave us a hand written note wishing us a happy anniversary. The food, service and special touches made it the best night ever! Thank you Julii!!
We looked forward to visiting this new restaurant by the team that brought us CAVA. We were not disappointed. The menu is not overwhelming but is varied and enough for every one to find something to enjoy. The focus on limited fare results in excellence all around. Our party of 4 had outstanding salad, tasty entrees including fish, chicken and pasta dishes, generous sides of brussel sprouts and frites, and shared a very well prepared chocolate souffle (order early). The atmosphere is bistro. The service is prompt, friendly and informative. The seating is limited so a reservation is recommended. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience in a location that is convenient and with ample parking.
Was amazing. I was disappointed that you changed the bolognese to a cream sauce. It was better the other way.. there was more flavor with the meat sauce and it was more Smokey and tasted straight from Europe. Other than that, everything was fantastic.
Fun place to dine. Creative menu. Tasty food. Nice wines by the glass selection. Well-made cocktails. Friendly, knowledgeable service. Nice ambience.
Cocktails are amazing! Great service and great ambiance.
This is the 2nd time that I have dined at Julii in Bethesda and both experiences were extremely enjoyable! The food was delicious and the service extraordinary. The drinks and deserts were all interesting. I would encourage Julii to bring back the ice cream desert that is prepared at the table with liquid nitrogen! We were told that it is no longer available which was disappointing, however, this did not detract from the overall experience that we had Friday evening. We will return again!
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Julii. It was our anniversary (Julii was well aware of this). We have two young kids and hardly see each other with our work schedules, so needless to say we were very excited about the time out together. Well, the AC went out at Julii (this was not why I was upset it happens) & how the staff at Julii handled this was just awful. I asked a server what was going on and she flat out lied and said "oh the ovens are just really hot right now".... I'm not an idiot, but thanks. Our server just apologized, but didn't do anything. The manager came over and jokingly said "oh yeah the AC is also out at Cava"... like... also ok? You can tell I'm miserable, don't feel well, and asked for the check early and the least that could have happened was something comped, a gift card, or just DRINKS on the house bc it was our goddammn anniversary and NOTHING!!! As someone who worked in the restaurant industry for a few good years, I was so upset and disappointed. And would NEVER come back to Julii or recommend this place again.
Excellent restaurant - food and service both wonderful - I’ll be back for sure!
Julii was a very pleasant surprise. We went on a Thursday evening to avoid crowds. We ordered 3 starters: a risotto, a tomato/egg dish, and a salmon crudo. Our waiter, Tom, timed things so that as we finished one dish, the next arrived. We also enjoyed a French chardonnay from Chablis. All in all, a delightful experience. We will be back.
