Julian Serrano Tapas - Aria Ratings and Reviews
I had a large party of 26 and the waiter who I believe was Pedro was the most accommodating and suggested the best option for such a large group. Food came in a timely fashion. I wish I had the paella but the food was amazing. Best customer service, best waiter and most of all best tapas. I will recommend Julien Serrano’s to all my family and friends.
Food was reallly great but service not so good. And the servings are really small.
Our waiter forgot to serve two of our dishes and when i reminded him he thought we were asking him for another dish so he added one more dish on our check.
Then when we told him we never got the dishes he asked really!? Are you sure!? Had to tell hi twice.
I think this place would be great for 2~3 people dining. Not a great place to go as a big group.
As a Las Vegas resident I have been to this restaurant many times and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately this time the service was terrible. It took 45 mins to get our drinks after being seated. All our Tapas orders then came in quick succession so there was no room on the table...and then nothing, no drink reorder, no water refills, nothing. Very disappointing. It was an early dinner so the restaurant was not crowded. There are lots of restaurant choices in Vegas and I guess I’ll try somewhere else.
Waiter hardly came over. Never asked how the meal was. Never asked if we wanted more drinks. Seemed annoyed that he had to work. We waited an hour for our paella it came out ice cold. Had to tell a bus boy about because our server never came by. They sent out a manager and he said they would remake it but it would be an hour before we got it and at that point we would have been waiting for our main dish for 2.5 hours. They didn’t offer to take it off or even offer a dessert. They were horrible at customer service. I live coming here have probably been 10 Times in the past few years and every time the service and food gets worse. I will not be back. I will not recommend to any more of my friends and clients in town.
When I made the reservation, I noted that it’s our 2 year anniversary and wish to have something special to be served by the restaurant. But we were not received anything, a dessert or a special card. Quite disappointed by the service. Will not make another reservation in advance. But the food are quite authentic and tasty!
Very poor food. Serrano ham was too thick to eat. Server said nothing when we ordered something that ended up coming with another dish we ordered. Biggest issue was with the wine. Have never ordered a very expensive bottle of wine where the Sommelier takes it away to open it and decant it before a waiter brings it back for tasting. Very weird. Especially since he seemed to let other tables taste their wine. Raised doubts on what we were drinking because it was not as expected. Very unprofessional. Would not return to this place.
Everything we tried was very good. The dates were outstanding. Had to order more. The mushroom risotto is so good. Perhaps my favorite. The oxtail with potato puree was our least favorite. And don't forget the molten choc. cake with ice cream. The perfect ending to a great meal.
The menu has been gradually declining and trending away from Spanish. For example, the great lobster with asparagus was taken away years ago and never returned. Overall the menu seems to be trending to more chili-laden dishes. I like hot Mexican food, but not at a Spanish restaurant. I just returned from Madrid and Mallorca, and it’s quite clear that Julian Serrano is missing the mark.
I expected a bit more and the food was good but not memorable and too little of it even though I understood it was tapas. I felt that bread should have been a comped starter take then take it from there. Also the lighting was too bright but the wonderful manager did turn them down a bit, which made it much nicer::)
What to choose? You can have it all - vegetarian, fish, fowl, or meat, but get the paella. Sit back and enjoy great conversation while your paella is prepared. We opted for rabbit and others ordered the seafood. Both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. We fought for the crunchy rice slightly burned on the edges. This is in the Aria lobby, but it's set up in a way to see and be seen. Service was good. They need more confidence and knowledge for wine pairings. All in all, a good bet for a fine meal, be it quiet or raucous.
I’m a little sad rating this low. When I visit VEGAS, I always visit Serrano’s. It’s my favorite restaurant, or was. I’m not sure if I’ve just been too much, but we ordered 6 tapas, all but one were just average, the one was excellent. Still fun to go, but it may have fallen off of my favorite restaurant.
