Julian Serrano Tapas - Aria Ratings and Reviews
What to choose? You can have it all - vegetarian, fish, fowl, or meat, but get the paella. Sit back and enjoy great conversation while your paella is prepared. We opted for rabbit and others ordered the seafood. Both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. We fought for the crunchy rice slightly burned on the edges. This is in the Aria lobby, but it's set up in a way to see and be seen. Service was good. They need more confidence and knowledge for wine pairings. All in all, a good bet for a fine meal, be it quiet or raucous.
I’m a little sad rating this low. When I visit VEGAS, I always visit Serrano’s. It’s my favorite restaurant, or was. I’m not sure if I’ve just been too much, but we ordered 6 tapas, all but one were just average, the one was excellent. Still fun to go, but it may have fallen off of my favorite restaurant.
Overall, this is an amazing experience. The food is outstanding, and it has a high energy vibe. It is so fun to order different plates and have a wonderful culinary experience with each. The mushroom risotto is a must have, and our favorite was the lobster salad which expertly shows off richness of flavors against acids and the texture differences between toast, lobster, and lettuce. Amazing!
Only a few minor negatives: (1) the chairs we sat in were incredibly large and heavy - you couldn't move them while sitting in them to move them up to the table; that is just poor designer choices for a restaurant chair and (2) there was a really loud table near us; not sure if the openness of the restaurant made it so distracting or this particular set of 4 individuals.
We were disappointed. The paella was more like a New Oleans Jambalaya than a Spanish Paella - no saffron detected, too much sausage, color off, not much seafood - consistency like gravy rather than a fine saffron based paella. The pan was good - but the paella was really off.
Wonderful service and the plates came pretty fast. Fun atmosphere and good food. We had a great evening.
Not a budget spot, especially if you are really hungry and order a great many things! Groups seemed to be enjoying snacking and talking, but there were lots of good tables for two also.
We arrived for our 7:30p reservation and were promptly seated. Our waiter was excellent in suggesting menu items. The items suggested were very tasty , flavorful and well presented. Our waiter suggested the mixed seafood paella . He stated that it'll take 45 minutes. All of the small tapas dishes arrived within a short time frame of ordering. The paella , however , never arrived even though the waiter said it was coming. 90 minutes later we had to cancel the paella as it was getting late. The waiter was very apologetic and comped us dessert and tea. That was a very nice gesture indeed ! We left happy and gave the waiter a very large gratuity. We'll be back to try the paella !
My first trip to Julian Serrano in 2011 was so memorable that when I found myself back in Vegas with friends that had never eaten here, I HAD to make a reservation for our first night dinner. The pitcher of Sangria was delicious, as was all the food. They loved it there as well, which made me so happy!
We eat at Julian Serrano's every time we visit Las Vegas. The tapas options are so varied and always wonderful. There is something for every palate! The service is top-notch and the atmosphere is electric, but comfortable. They do not rush their patrons! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Has potential but menu severely compromised by lack of variety you would expect at tapas bar.
The mushroom soup was exquisite as was the salad..
Disappointing were the meat dishes:
They were out of beef short ribs.
The pork ribs were tough—not as you would expect to be melt in your mouth quality. Even using the knife was challenging.
The chicken croquettes were cool on the inside and rather greasy...
We liked the drinks—clearly the bartender was on their game.
Wait staff was very nice and professional and attentive.. but the kitchen failed the whole experience....
My family thoroughly enjoyed the tapas. We had the chicken croquets, potatoes, Serrano Ham, cheese platter, and all were excellent! The red Sangria was perfect. The Serrano paella was good, but my least favorite of all the different food we ate. The perfect ending was the Churros and melted chocolate! Oh how delicious! This whole meal and a pitcher of Sangria was under $190 for the three of us.
Menu provides a great selection of authentic tapas. Really enjoyed the pork spareribs and rabo de toro. My wife enjoyed the beef ribs and churros! Great service by our waiter John Eric and fast delivery of order. Excellent selection of wines and brews. A bit pricey but as expected in Vegas/Aria.
