Great fun, food, vibe, friendly service, fantastic music
Good food, great ambiance and service. I'd recommend it for a fun, lively brunch for anyone.
The overall evening was terrific....... food....... music ....... service was all excellent. Had a friend with us who is a jazz history expert...... he loved the music and the atmosphere ..... wants us to bring him back ..... and we will.
We had booked a table and it turned out that there was a large party that booked out a majority of the restaurant. The hostess recommended we sit in the back but the weather was so nice, the back seemed very stuffy. The hostess could see that I was unhappy with the choices and she did her BEST to accommodate and make sure me and my friend got the seat that we wanted. Although she had to move us twice, we ended up sitting outside at a cute table enjoying the sun! The service staff were very friendly! Also their bottomless brunch is a great deal!
A fun restaurant in a fun neighborhood (St Marks Place in the East Village). Ambiance was definitely Paris Bistro. The Jazz trio was good but the singer never materialized. Service was a little rushed. We felt like they were trying to get us out for the late night crowd.
We were looking for a dinner spot in the village with live music and came across this place. Jazz band was very good (happy hour pianist was not). Food was good although not memorable. Wine list was good and service was excellent. Overall on the pricey side for the value but we enjoyed the evening with music and for what we came for.
A great, reliable and authentic neighborhood bistro, the only thing missing is a full bar with cocktails.
This was everything we hoped for and is now our fav. Amazing. Everything about this place is amazing. Pure Paris in New York.
East Village classic -- nice, French atmosphere and good flow of the unlimited mimosas at brunch. CJ was a really professional and fun server and the rest of the staff as well.
Waiter took our order then forgot about it.
About a dozen people who came later got food first. When I informed him of his over sight he denied he forgot but came to his senses a minute later offering us a free salad and drink while we waited for our order. When he admitted his mistake and tried to make amends it was all cool.
Good food and the live music was fun to have..
Went with my family and everything was fantastic!!! We went on Saturday night and enjoyed the live music
Amazing ambience! Food was amazing and the service was on another level.
I went hear the solo pianist and found that the noise level drowned out the music.
The food was average, the service poor.
Won’t be back.
Jules is an East Village gem! The food is always good as is the service. Live music makes for a cool and relaxed vibe. You won’t be disappointed.
We were two couples, recent friends. As we order differently, I put in a special request for separate checks and they completely disregarded our special request. So, don’t waste your time. Turns out our ordering was matched and everyone had no issue at all. Place was cold; after a bit, the maitre’d? put some heat on.
Coffee was served cold. I asked the waiter Jonah on a return trip if the coffee came with spoons. He got them. Coffee; even colder(lol). You had to ask for refills or you weren’t getting it.
The food was very nice and tasty; no issues here. Much of it was Organic to my fiancee’s glee. A woman playing a guitar singing Brazilian songs was nice in the background. We were able to have easy conversation.
Maitre’d asked for tips in cash. In food service for many years, I never saw that, but understand; they aren’t paid well. Maybe good reason. However, the place and food is very nice and is nice and is worth the trip.
Very nice food and service. Lots of French favorites
took my mother here for live jazz it did not disappoint, music and food were great, better than my first time here. skate was delicious as was kale salad fries burger mussels and apple dessert. We'll be back
Really fun brunch with live jazz! The food was delicious. Definitely recommend the duck confit hash!
Brunch at Jules Bistro is always great! Good food, live music on Sundays, good for groups, takes reservations, helpful and attentive staff. Everything you want in a brunch! Been meaning to try dinner too. Lots of my friends have brought out of town guests who have all been impressed too.
Had a great time on a beautiful snowy night in the Village. Food was good. Tables were tightly spaced, and the noise level was unbelievably loud that the musicians could hardly be heard.
Services excellent. Homemade pate--delicious!
The jazz band changes weekly so not sure when I will see this band again. However had a yummy dinner, delicious wine and lively music.
Splendid night to spend my birthday there. Great place to Jazz it Up. Great vibes, service, ambiance, and company. Couldn’t ask for more.
We ordered two bottles of wine, both which were bad (cooked) and they charged us for one of them.
Jules Bistro was terrible. First off, this place smells worse than a fraternity covered in alcohol after a party- the stench was absoluly disgusting and made me want to leave right after walking in. The reason we stayed was because of the “Live Music” which I specifically called about the week of and confirmed would be happening, and which was scheduled and advertised on their website... There was no live music. There was no apology. There was no note of this or mention of this ever prior to my arrival and sitting down. That was the only reason I was dining there, to experience the music with brunch and my date. With no music, you’re just sitting in one of the worst restaurants in nyc at a terrible place setting with subpar “French want-to-be” food. Place was a let down and I’d never go back or recommend anyone to waste their time attempting to go.
Highly recommend the mushroom and fig appetizer, the skate entré with the Côtes de Rhone Chardonnay
Excellent food. The best octopus I've had in Toronto - beautifully marinated and so tender.
Just loved it!
I am French, so I can recognise between fake and true French bistros. Jules is a real one. Good food, friendly staff (better than in France), nice decor.
Fantastic service and food was delicious as was the lovely old world French ambience with great jazz.
Great live music in a little bistro kind of place. The food was good and the service very good.
The ambience was amazing, with the low lights and the wonderful live music, very good food, I would definitely recommend a night out there!
Jules transports you to France with it's food, friendly French staff, laid back atmosphere and incredible jazz music!!!
I was able to score a reservation for Saturday night last-minute, and when my friend was late to meet me, they had no problem seating me right away - the unpretentious vibe is breath of fresh air in NY!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in New York. Everyone I've brought here loves it too.
We were sat right by the front door despite having a reservation... it was below freezing outside, so it was quite unpleasant any time someone entered or exited the restaurant. I'm not sure why they didn't seat us at one of the many other tables that could accommodate 6 guests. The music was lovely.
Very loud with the live music, very very cold on a 32F day in NYC. The servers were wearing UGGS and wool cardigans over turtlenecks while we shivered in our seats. A bit shabby by now.
Band was great
Great experience! Need to get credit cards working.
Excellent Jazz and the Muchroom Plateau was to die for!
A pleasant stop, with well prepared food and low key, casual entertainment.
