Let me start off by saying that I rarely write a review. My wife said I need to let people know how bad this place is...We are foodies, so we looked forward to Julep. However, this place seems to be a wannabe foodie restaurant. If you like this restaurant, you are NOT from the South and definitely not a foodie. I'm both. This was insultingly bad in a few levels.
The homemade chips that go with the fish dip almost broke our teeth. We sent them back and got more rock hard, stale chips. The biscuits tasted EXACTLY like bisquick biscuits. They are good, but nothing interesting nor flavorful about them. We cut our losses and left after that. VERY disappointing experience. Cost me around $90 bucks, for 2 incorrectly made old fashions, a few Bisquick biscuits that had zero unique quality, and a fish dip that could not be eaten, because the chips were hard as small planks of wood, Uber, and gratuity. Our waitress was sweet though. She boxed the biscuits and we tossed them when we left. NEVER again

If you have a lot of money and no appetite this is the place for you! Very pricey and extremely little portions...not my kind of brunch place.

Biscuits were really good. Service was incredibly slow and it was not busy. My first cup of coffee was only warm (not hot). Sat with empty cup of coffee for long stretches. With so many brunch options, there is no way I’d go back to Julep....too bad, I was excited to try it!

When you spend more than 100 bucks at brunch you really want to love it. The cocktails were good and deviled ham app was fine. Was told they were out of the pickled shrimp app, that if the chef didn't like the product it wouldn't be served. Eggs Sardou came from the kitchen in a kettle like hollandaise soup with medium poached eggs(was told they would be runny, no), canned artichokes, a few leaves of spinach, & dry, plain bread on the side. The sausage skillet had unseasoned cubed potatoes, limp arugula (no mustard greens), & dry overcooked sausage. Maybe go for the bar?

Went to celebrate my husbands birthday with a group of friends. The staff was lovely but the food was less than remarkable with one shockingly bad problem. We started with the biscuits which were amazing! Then came the Mac n cheese which was cold and watery. Then the blanquette came out and the vegetables in it were barely cooked. Then we had a salad where we discovered

Julep is not typical southern cooking, which is delicious, but offers a wonderful new spin on it. Have you ever had Gumbo without shrimp or andouille? Sounds absurd but it was phenomenal. From starters to mains, we loved everything. Oh, and the buttermilk biscuits were unbelievable.

It was pretty expensive for the lack of food that you got. Also, the service was poor. Our waiter disappeared for chunks at a time and was pretty unenthused to be serving us. It was Mother's Day brunch, so we expected something of the experience to be even remotely special, and the restaurant seemed flustered and unprepared for the amount of people that day.

The epitome of average. Went here based on the reviews. Everything was fine but nothing special. I think they missed the mark on the concept of the elevated southern food in general.

My wife and I love exploring brunch places in town. We decided to give Julep a try, and we love it! The atmosphere was super chill, the food was outstanding, and the drinks were on point. And dear God, the biscuits are impossibly good.

The food was very bland. :( I came here because Julep was featured in the Eater 38. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the hype. The “fresh” biscuits came out cold. My salad with the added chicken had very little flavor; the chicken didn’t taste like anything and had no texture. I couldn’t finish it even though I was hungry. We also got a sausage, potato, and egg dish (it was brunch). The sausage and potatoes were actually over salted and difficult to eat. Dishes were pricey given what appeared to be fresh ingredients. The ambience was nice, although the acoustics made it very loud. I was really bummed about this place.

Beautiful except for the upstairs private area we were placed. Missed the ambiance and energy of the restaurant with no music playing. The food was good. Don’t miss the Mac and cheese and deviled eggs. our waiter wasn’t familiar with the wine list so we stuck with mixed drinks which were amazing.

Love the location and buildout. disappointed in the service - our gal was sweet, but hard to find when in need of beverage refills or to order anything new. waited almost 20 minutes for coffee refills and mimosa refills. food is mediocre at best, and overpriced. i had the kentucky hot brown - an open face sandwich. no side accompanies it, and for $15 for this dish, at the very least, a potato, fruit or greens should be on the plate. adding greens to it was another $6 for them to throw some lettuce and quinoa on the plate. unless some things change, it is not likely that i, or my group will return.

Overall this place is ok. There’s a lot of hype about eating here, and the decor is very cute, but the food wasn’t that impressive. We tried to order the pimento cheese but they were already out at 11:30am. The biscuits were pretty good and I got the egg sardou which was very soupy.

Went for brunch. Ordered biscuits and jam/honey while looking at menu. Biscuits were very good. My wife ordered quiche and I ordered something else. Server came back a few minutes later and told us they were out of both dishes. The place opened at 11AM and we were seated at 11:05AM. My wife then ordered skillet dish and I ordered chicken dish. Skillet dish was just OK and chicken came out burnt and very over done. And this is suppose to be a highly rated restaurant? Server was very good and kept my coffee cup filled. Summary: serving staff excellent. Kitchen staff....???

Julep was incredible. We did the family style offering and everyone was satisfied at the end and all of the dishes were delicious. We even did the parfait at the end, and it was delicious to split between 4 people. The only downsides to the evening were that with an 845 reservation on a Saturday they were out of a lot of things already, including the blueberry pie.

Food was unique- really liked the family style share. We had pork chops, braised cabbage, biscuits (amazing), pickles, and a daikon slaw salad. All excellent, and just the right amount of food for the 3 of us. It was loud in the restaurant, so maybe not for an intimate dinner, but it was really fun and energetic. I will definitely go back for cocktails and happy hour!

We had an excellent experience at Julep. We enjoyed all of the food, but highlights would include the fried chicken slider, pimento cheese balls, deviled eggs, and, obviously, the biscuits. Our server was also excellent, both helpful and personable. Couldn't recommend highly enough for "upscale" southern food.

Added to a reservation from 3 to 5. Staff was accommodating about last minute request. Booked through this site and based on menu on open table you could order waffles - ended up with 2 children under 8 that was sold on the waffles!! At first the wait staff said no waffles today but went to kitchen and they were able to fulfill the request and everyone was happy. Attentive wait staff. Good food......biscuits were amazing......as were the mimosas. overall great dining experience

There was nothing wrong per se, it just wasn't outstanding. For the price of brunch, I would expect outstanding. My food was luke warm and it was a poor presentation. No extras come with the entree such as potatoes. I had a cup of tea and it tasted like cheap tea although in a fancy package. That said, the service was fine as well as the setting.

The restaurant was pretty busy and crowded when I ate there for brunch around one on a Sunday. It felt like a happy, energized, relaxed atmosphere in a classy looking place. I’d definitely go back to try other dishes and cocktails. The Hurricane was very fruity and delicious. The staff are very friendly and eager to assist you, even when the service time ran a bit slow.

Was very pleased with Julep - the food was really good and the service was great -
we can for the fried chicken brunch - we were not disappointed - did a 10 piece (1/2 original and 1/2 Nashville hot) - loved them both! their cocktails were also great -

This is a great bruch spot - not overly crowded - nice deck in the front that will be nice in the summer

Come for the cocktails and chicken!!
