First time we went to Jula's it was great. Patio seating on a nice day and service was great. To be honest, the food was average but the service and atmosphere made it worth returning. Tonight, it was not very good. Server was the same as last time and he was solid. They even seem to keep note that we were returning guests which was a nice touch. The menus are different on the patio versus the bar versus inside, which is a little annoying as we wanted something on the patio but there was a storm coming in so I opted for the inside. The food was not great. We've had way better crab dip and the tortilla chips that came with it was just odd. The crab cakes were moist but the overall presentation was just boring. And then the short rib grilled cheese. We took a few bites and noticed there was no cheese. We brought it up to the server and then he took what we had, and then we had to wait 15 minutes for the replacement. A grilled cheese without cheese .... not sure how that happens. Not sure why he took the mistake, I guess to throw it away, but 15 minutes later we got the replacement. Overall taste was average again. Finally, I've been to good restaurants and when they've made a mistake like this, they usually comp that part of the meal. Nope. $135 on an below average meal and the experience was just not good. Server was overall solid like before but I really think he should have worked to have that portion of the meal comped. Not sure if he is empowered to do this so we still gave a 20% tip. But we will likely not return now. Unfortunate as I had plans to bring others here and maybe even have large parties here

The views are absolutely incredible. The menu is diverse and everything I had was delicious. My family had an incredible birthday celebration here. Only thing to note is that it can be a bit loud inside. Don’t miss the desserts!

The outside terrace is the place to eat, weather permitting, but you should know that it is a different menu than the one offered inside. I loved the Deviled Egg Trio off the Date Night Menu and Signature Trio of sliders. And the bread pudding is simply to die for...so save room for that! Honestly, everything they do here is first rate...both food and service.

Too expensive for poor quality food. Our salad came with our entrees, my halibut was tasteless and so dry, I couldn’t eat it. They took it back and i changed to salmon. Slightly better but not for the price. Also, so loud that we couldn’t hear each other at our table. We were celebrating a 30 year anniversary and a 17th birthday of our daughter and they couldn’t even offer a dessert!

We love this gem of a restaurant. The food and service are excellent. And the view of the Potomac adds an extra touch of class to the entire experience.

I was really disappointed because I had been here before. It was a Sunday morning and not busy at all, but our service was terrible, basically the server was not attentive at all. The only time I was offered a refill of my coffee was after my meal was complete and he was nowhere to be found during the meal. The food was not great. We ordered brunch, and the potatoes were soggy and I ordered avocado toast, and the bread wasn't toasted at all, making the entire entrée seeming mushy. Again the server never came back to check on us so I couldn't send the food back. Really disappointed. Ambience is five out of five. But we came to eat and expected a better experience. Maybe cocktails or happy hours is a better way to go and sit at the bar so you can get better service.
