The menu has a nice selection for all tastes. We tried the oysters, deviled eggs and biscuits. All were outstanding. Our main meals were good, but the food obviously set in the kitchen a while before being served as it was cold. The waiter could not be found and never came back after the meal was served so we could not even send anything back to be reheated. That was our biggest complaint. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, but very busy and not attentive. We would have ordered another bottle of champagne too.

Overall Jula’s was wonderful. I took my parents there for brunch. The atmosphere was nice, beautiful place, not too noisy and lovely view (considering the fog). The service was kind of slow however. Took a minute for food to come. My parents got the Chef’s 3 Course Meal, I got the Creole omelette and my gf got the steak omelette. Creole omelette would’ve been better if it has more than just shrimp and sauce in it, peppers, onion, etc. it was dry. The steak omelette was decent. The salmon and grits didn’t have much flavor. The DRINKS were delicious and strong. I loved the espresso martini! Berries and cream is just berries and whipped cream, I would’ve loved something more like a vanilla bean custard or pudding like. The brûlée cheesecake was BOMB! I would still recommend Jula’s.

Many things to love about Jula’s and we have been coming here for years. However this time the service was slow. Waited 20 minutes just to get water. Also it was very noisy. Hard to converse with table mates.

Overall an excellent experience! Went with a group of 5 for brunch. Ambience/set up with the restaurant is very clean and modern, and we loved that the entire outside wall of the restaurant is floor to ceiling windows. The brunch menu had plenty of options to chose from and the cocktail menu was unique/offered lots as well. Slightly on the pricier side for brunch but the food itself was very good and would definitely recommend to others

Beautiful renovation. Staff very welcoming, friendly and very attentive. The bread pudding French toast and biscuits are the best that I’ve had for brunch. I’ll have to try lunch or dinner, too.

This was our first time to Jula’s. We went on the night of Old Towne’s holiday boat festival. The outdoor tables were full even though it was in the 50s. (Bar was full too!) We sat in the main dining room which was very nice albeit a little noisy. The food and service were very good. My wife really enjoyed the cauliflower steam entree. Of note there is very large underground parking lot underneath the building that houses the restaurant and residences. According to the parking lot attendant there is always parking available at night for $5 for the evening.

It was a wonderful experience! Food-wise. I'll go back for lunch or dinner to try different menus. Parking was a hassle..only about 6 slots reserved for the restaurant on street level, no parking ticket validation,and underground parking not easy, and damaged the car while reversing against a pillar! Overall, will definitely go back!

Was highly recommended, and definitely lived up to the hype. Warm and welcoming! Excellent customer service from Erica. Food was amazing. Highly flavored and memorable. Manager even stopped by to check in on us about our experience. Will definitely return. I would recommend the French toast bread pudding and the shrimp creole omelet.

We love everything about this restaurant -- but the noise! We sat in the main dining room and we could not hear each other or the waiter and at one point we started laughing because the room noise level was so high that it seemed like it could be on purpose for a gag! The man at the table next to us had to yell at the waiter "I can't hear what you're saying!" You're going to need carpet or curtains or fabric on the ceiling to absorb that noise. Until then, we'll be sitting outside or at the high tops.

Having previously eaten lunch there and had a wonderful experience at this lovely restaurant with terrific views of the Potomac River and an excellent staff of greeters and waiters, I went for dinner wanting to love this restaurant. Sadly, I was very disappointed. When I arrived for dinner, the greeters and waiters were their usual terrific and very professional selves. They showed me to my table, and I ordered "Fried Green Tomatoes" for starters. What arrived at my table were four fried green tomatoes buried deep under a giant glob of what was supposed to be shrimp salad. For my main course I ordered "Creole Shrimp Linguini" and my guest ordered "Lobster and Crab Ravioli". Both dishes were so salty neither of us cared to finish the meal. The desserts were fine, but the coffee was dark and bitter, suggesting it was not freshly made. The volume in the dining room is unpleasant. There were only four tables of guests while we were there, but we could hear every word of every conversation -- so much so that my guest and I retreated to the bar which, although more guests were there than in the dining room, was considerably quieter. I remain hopeful that the dinner food will improve, and more attention will be given to sound mitigation soon -- before more guests are dissuaded from returning to this potential gem of a restaurant.

The staff is great. They make you feel welcome and at ease. The view is one of the best in Alexandria. We always take out-of-town visitors there to impress them. The food is of high quality and plentiful. They come ready with a box when necessary.

We had a great lunch on Tuesday! Sarah took very good care of me and my niece. We hadn't seen each other for awhile so we spent a lot of time catching up and Sarah was so patient with us. I was checking out the restaurant as a possible venue for when my father and brothers come to town for Thanksgiving/Christmas. Can't wait to return. Thank you!

The only thing I had an issue with was the wait time. Even though I had a reservation for 1:45 we still had to wait close to 30 minutes extra. There was a mistake with my order but it was fixed fast and the food was delicious. I loved the potatoes!

Food was exceptional and ambiance was great. However, the service was pretty poor. We loved our waiter Tony but it was clear the restaurant was understaffed. It took more than 20 mins to get water, and our drinks did not come out until AFTER we got our food (which we didn’t get until about an hour in). We were there for 3 hours despite only ordering our meals and dessert (no apps or 2nd drinks). They have a lot of work to do to meet their capacity.

We had a very pleasant experience and Kai was a wonderful server. We sat outside with the heaters and while it took a moment to get adjusted to the temperature, we soon were comfortable enough without our jackets. Will definitely return back!

Since cafe 44 reopened as Jula's, I have dined there three times. This time I brought several Old Town friends who were experiencing it for the first time. We arrived at 5:45 for a 6:00 reservation. The place was virtually empty. Our server, while pleasant, was not efficient. When asked about several dishes on the menu, he was clueless, not his fault, but rather that of the management who should school the servers in what and how menu items are prepared. The food was barely edible. My "crispy" fingerling potatoes were wet from the red sauces poured all over them. My coffee was brought AFTER the dessert was served.....filled to the very brim, where there was no room for cream. Furthermore, the process of lifting it to my lips would have resulted in coffee being spilled all over chin and clothes, so I declined. We said nothing to server re our disappointment, paid our bill, left appropriate tip. Vowed not to go back. Friends agreed their husbands would not be too enamored of Jula's I am sorry, as I think Jula's could be one of the most popular places in OT. It certainly has the best view. Given the small crowd, my guess is that others feel the same way.

I'm terribly sorry to learn of your dining experience. I did a bit of homework and was able to figure out who you had as a server. Though he is one of our newer servers, he receives some of the highest compliments from our patrons, so this is coming as quite a surprise. We provide initial training and continual wine and menu knowledge training, but it sounds like he may be in need of some additional mentorship. I will personally meet with him to go over the menu and detailed notes provided by our chef. Our protocol for coffee service is typically to bring a cup and saucer and then pour from a carafe at the table. I apologize if that was not the case. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the less than exceptional experience and I do hope you will visit again and ask for me. Jula

It’s my second time dining here and overall not a great experience. My food came out incorrect, and our water glasses smelled like seafood. Also, the service is slow and our waiter wasn’t very friendly. I don’t recommend this restaurant.
