Jujube Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was very accommodating about an unfortunate incident of food spilling on to my freshly dry-cleaned velour pants. It was a very smelly sauce, and the restaurant comped me my lunch, which was quite adequate to address the cleaning bill. So it was a bad situation with a positive outcome.
I would have appreciated advanced warning that the "soy" ingredient that substituted for chicken in my dish was not what we normally think of as soy (tofu), it was TVP, which comes uncomfortably close to the feel of non-veg food for the tastes of veg-food lovers. I'm vegetarian by choice, not simply for health reasons, but because I can't tolerate the taste/smell/texture of animal flesh. Please keep customers like me in mind when you describe the ingredients.
Other than these two incidents, which probably traumatized the server more than they did me, I had a great experience!
The noodle salad was a bit too sweet for me given the number of sweet pickles in it & the sweet sauce of the (un)crispy delight soy protein, but it was very fresh and could be perfect for another diner’s palate.
Kevin, our server, was very attentive, as well as other staff members who supplemented his service.
It is always a fave restaurant— predictably very good and very welcoming.
We went on 1/2-price dumpling night and shared all of the five on offer with 2 friends. Only those with bacon were so-so but others were grand. Husband and I had lamb chops, which I ordered rare but came out as medium. I didn’t want to slow things down more as entrees took a long time to arrive so did not send them back. They were tasty but corn watercress salad was a weird combo that didn’t quite work for me. Jujube’s B+-range for me - good and a nice place but not quite up to its across the road fusion neighbor’s standard.
Really enjoyed our table
of six. Starters were shared around the table. Crispy kale with orange and pecans was delicious and memorable (generally not a kale eater). Calamari light and perfect. Salad rolls. Main dishes enjoyed - grilled shrimp skewers which the kitchen kindly split. King pao: one order super spicy, one order mild - both said it was great. Reasonable prices for the offerings. Definitely Recommend.
Great food. Great value. only problem was our party of 4 was seated at the far end of a side dining area very close (way too close) to an adjacent table of two who were very nice but having a business dinner. It was impossible not to hear and (be heard) with every word. Many other tables were available. We probably should have insisted on a different seating but didn't want to offend the two nice men. An astute waiter would have handled that. Otherwise good and I would return and perhaps select my seating. Fried Calamari is to die for.
Pan-Fried Pork & Cabbage and Vietnamese Salad Rolls with peanut sauce, sesame were both great. Lots of other things on the menu that I'd have been happy to order. The wait staff is very accommodating and the patio is so pleasant when the weather is nice. One of my favorite Triangle restaurants.
The Tuna Terayaki was the best meal I've ever eaten. Superb blending of flavors, tuna of the highest quality, absolutely delicious. Very large serving good for splitting, as you don't want to insult this beautiful dish by putting leftover in a take out box. Next time we will split an appetizer and split the Tuna Terayaki.
Wonderful evening! Every item served to our table was delicious, notably the scallops, salmon and chicken entrees plus the dumplings appetizer. Oh and the desserts! Our waiter was outstanding adding to our enjoyment. Many varied food preferences were accommodated.
The service was polite, professional and timely. Food quality was good and all of the dishes we had among our group of 8 were well received. This is a fun, casual environment with good food, reasonable prices and a well thought out wine list - also fairly priced. While there are higher level Asian fusion options very nearby, this is an excellent value and very capable of pleasing.
Jujube is fantastic! The food is always inventive, fresh, and delicious. Cocktails are also unique and yummy, extensive wine and beer list. The wait staff are great and very personable and engaging. Great for an adult night out- but we've also taken our young kids along (before the dinner rush) and had a nice family meal. Highly recommend for delicious, innovative Asian inspired food.
My friend and I ordered 3 appetizers and split an entree. The chef came out and talked to us about the dips and how to best enjoy our choices. The waiter was incredible. The food was the best. We were delighted to have the entree already split on two plates when it arrived at the table. Scallops were top notch! Definitely will recommend this restaurant!
Service was outstanding. We had a five-year-old with us and everyone did their best to make her (and the rest of us) feel welcome. We share a wide range of different dishes from small plates to large plates including crab and shrimp cake dish, Kung Pao Chicken, Squid, Pork Belly Buns, and a range of desserts--all excellent.
Took a friend there for a special birthday. Food was great. We started with Calamari and it had some great roasted green beans and came with three sauces. But there were also mini octopus and that was a problem for us.
I had the hanger steak - it came with a peanut sauce and a cucumber salad. My friend had the scallops and it came with a kale dish. Both were excellent.
Dessert was a Browned Butter Pot de Creme with black lava salt. Creamy, rich and not too sweet. We both enjoyed a special cocktail before dinner. Great meal!
