It started with trouble making reservations.Open table not responsive and wouldn’t let me update reservation and no one would return my phone calls at the restaurant.Short staffed created poor service even tho the servers tried their best.Prime rib was cold . We were told we may have to wait even tho we had reservations but they found a table facing the bright sun and seated us on time . Per our request they moved an unused umbrella to shade us some and made the bright sun tolerable.The very nice shift manager came out per our request and listened to our complaints and said they will try to improve .They gave us a 10% discount on our meal.If they are going to charge $31+ for their prime rib they need to improve so hope they do.Again,the servers were working as fast as they could and doing their best.If they don’t have the staff,don’t over book!

First time at Jug Mountain. What a view! Great service and a wonderful jazz quintet, which we really enjoyed. Food plentiful and the wine was good. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I had a lovely dinner on the patio at Jug Mountain Ranch last night. The chef, Alexa, had prepared a Tri-tip with orzo dish that was delicious! We started with one of our favorites, the brussel sprouts appetizer. The view is gorgeous and the service was great.

A 4:30 reservation was perfect. We were seated a little early and served our food quickly. Our server, Matt, was outstanding! Beer is cold and the food hot!

Poor service and low quality food. After waiting patiently for more than 20 minutes, requested front desk to locate a server. Eventually served with mediocre food. The smoked meat was drenched in BBQ sauce to try to improve the flavor. Agree with other diner that barking / fighting dogs were a significant distraction. We have enjoyed several meals here in the past, but don't plan to return after last evening's disaster.

The food was great, the service was great, the view was great. The really really bad part was people brought their dogs. There were dogs barking fighting each other and it was very noisy and disrupted otherwise very enjoyable evening. When people go out to dinner, they don’t want to hear other peoples dogs barking all the way through dinner it ruins, their experience . it was to the point that we may not go back in the future.

Overall the food tasted good, but the portion sizes were an issue. If they could provide good value for what you pay for and take care of their mosquito problems for outdoor diners, they could consistently earn around 4 to 5 stars. Without solving those issues, they’re a 3 star restaurant at best pretending to be 5 star.

We had the nacho special. Unfortunately, the cheese was not melted and there was not enough especially since they were nachos. The pieces of pork were too big for the dish. Overall, the food was below expectations. The service was good and they were quick.

We made this reservation a week in advance and drove an hour to have a nice dinner. When we arrived, we were told that none of the appetizers were available… Also, the sandwich we wanted came with Swiss cheese, but we were told they we’re out of Swiss cheese and only had cheddar as another option. Super disappointed with the menu options.

The place was CLOSED!!! Not sure who was at fault, OpenTable or the Restaurant, but we should have never been allowed to make a reservation!!! Drove from Boise (2 hour drive) all the way there for our lunch with friends. We had an OpenTable confirmed reservation and…well…it was closed!

We ate on the patio. It would have been perfect if it hadn't been smokey from the fires in Cascade and Oregon. I had the prime rib and asked for medium rare, it was perfect!! The vegetables served with it were crisp tender. The only disappointment was the "loaded" mashed potatoes. They were neither loaded nor warm. My husband had their hamburger on a gluten free bun and said it was one of the best "burgers" he's had. We'd definitely go back, but I'd ask for double vegetables and forget the potatoes. Also, the flourless chocolate cake was so dang good. My husband and I shared it and it was so rich we still couldn't eat it all.

Our server, Alyssa was very attentive. She gave extra care with my mother in law’s order. We told her she couldn’t have garlic, Alyssa checked to see if the chicken was seasoned with garlic. When she found out that it did, she suggested the cauliflower bites.

Not just gorgeous views and wonderful food but where else can you get an amazing martini for $10 and a Prime Rib dinner for $31. Love this place. And the service is always great!

The roasted prime rib sandwich was delicious/ wasn’t aware of limited menu- website didn’t indicate that. A surprise was the musical group -didn’t know there was music-they were great. Luv the view / very enjoyable evening.

Wonderful place and service however the food was sub par to a dive bar in Donnelly. Table of 4 we ordered prime rib rare, came out well done with cold mashed potatoes and undercooked vegetables. Burger and kids cheese burger were cooked so well done it cut up our mouthes. Requested a new rare prime rib which came out perfect however same potatoes and veg still cold asked to get new ones server said she could have them “nuked” … no thanks. Ordered a glass of cab which appeared to be half as full as other surrounding tables were receiving. After a couple bites we decided not to make a scene since we already had food sent back/replaced. Got our bill and left. Not recommended for a good dinner

Great service, great food, amazing atmosphere. Especially impressed by the guy (perhaps the manager?) hauling umbrellas around on the patio to make sure everyone was well shaded. Now that's customer service! This place never disappoints and their employees go above and beyond.

This was a different experience than all of our many previous experiences at Jug. Service was ok (ok because we guess she was new), shrimp taco corn tortillas were cold and fell apart, and the restaurant was very loud making it hard to hear one another at our table. Would recommend some soft materials on the floor, walls or ceiling to dampen the sound.

Our visit was on Father’s Day. Staff great. Food very memorable. We had five different sandwiches/dishes- all fresh and tasty. Must try the Bloody Mary w/candied bacon! View is spectacular.
