Judith is a new American tavern pairing warm hospitality and the cooking of James Beard Nominated Chef Julia Sullivan (Henrietta Red in Nashville) located in the quiet area of Sewanee, TN near the University of the South. The name is an homage to Judith Ward Lineback, the first woman to matriculate into the University in 1969.

As Sullivan’s first solo project, Judith will feature a seasonal menu of creative and approachable dishes including a selection of small, shareable plates perfect for the bar crowd. The beverage program mirrors the food with accessible wines and a cocktail list created by Henrietta Red's Beverage Manager Patrick Halloran.

The warehouse-style building, previously the Old Steam Laundry which serviced the University since the 1950’s, has additional space for private dining and parties. With the goal of becoming a meeting place for students, faculty, tourists and the Sewanee community alike, the restaurant will be open for dinner from Thursday - Monday.

The food and service were fabulous! Paige was attentive but not obtrusive. The food was very good, and the portions were generous. It's pricey, but we were not disappointed! We will certainly go again.

Our party of 5 had an early dinner that was perfect to reconnect over. The food was expertly prepared. Every dish was so delicious- we all shared. This restaurant is a love letter to the surrounding area and Sewanee.

Judith’s chef offered an amazing 4 course prix fixe menu for Easter. Every single dish offered wonderful flavors and was enjoyed by all. Food, drinks, service…all great!

My cosmopolitan was absolutely perfect. Icy cold w fresh lime slice. And, the oysters were cold and lovely. Crackers were homemade. The dinner for both of us was wonderful. Caesar salad was great, just a little too much dressing but I'm a "light dressing person" so others might love it. Overall, it was one of the best meals we have ever had.

Ate at the the bar. The food and service are incredible! The atmosphere is wonderful - simple mountain elegance. Cannot recommend more❣️
