Judith is a new American tavern pairing warm hospitality and the cooking of James Beard Nominated Chef Julia Sullivan (Henrietta Red in Nashville) located in the quiet area of Sewanee, TN near the University of the South. The name is an homage to Judith Ward Lineback, the first woman to matriculate into the University in 1969.

As Sullivan’s first solo project, Judith will feature a seasonal menu of creative and approachable dishes including a selection of small, shareable plates perfect for the bar crowd. The beverage program mirrors the food with accessible wines and a cocktail list created by Henrietta Red's Beverage Manager Patrick Halloran.

The warehouse-style building, previously the Old Steam Laundry which serviced the University since the 1950’s, has additional space for private dining and parties. With the goal of becoming a meeting place for students, faculty, tourists and the Sewanee community alike, the restaurant will be open for dinner from Thursday - Monday.

Great first visit to Judith. I look forward to coming back soon. Thanks for your great service. I had a server who was training a new staff person, it was nice to see her tagging along. I hope she had a good learning experience too. Way to go!

Very nice addition to Sewanee’s restaurant scene. Food, service and ambience was excellent. Noise level got a little high when a large group came in. Highly recommend the Chicken Milanese.

Came to Judith with a friend and we had a wonderful night—excellent cocktails, wonderful service, and a really great atmosphere. The food is simple but beautifully prepared and served. Would love to come back

Judith is a fresh addition to the Monteagle food scene. Our first time there and loved it. Pat the mixologist prepares outstanding craft cocktails. The seafood appetizers resembled the flavorful dishes at Henrietta Red. Recommend the trout prepared with fresh herbs and the snapper crudo. We will definitely return next time on the Mountain.

It is a bit pricey especially given the portion sizes Wines are very expensive too Service was great though

Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Wait staff are very attentive and knowledgeable about every dish. A New Orleans experience in the Tennessee mountains.
