"Judges restaurant and cocktail bar, formerly known as The Sun, is situated in the beautiful village of Northaw on the village green. This landmark Grade II listed building has, over many long months, been lovingly restored to its rightful glory. With a modern eclectic European and British menu, Carlos believes in sourcing local produce from artisan suppliers, where the provenance and quality of the foods are fully traceable. Whether you’re enjoying a glass of something sparkling under one of our chandeliers or having a scrumptious afternoon tea by the log fire, our bar and restaurant mix period features with modern day elegance, creating a memorable dining experience. Our cocktail bar and lounge areas are the perfect space for just popping by for an espresso martini or a light bite. Perfect for a relaxed evening drink with friends and informal eating from our brasserie style menu.

    Warm welcome upon entry. Good atmosphere, good menu. We chose the Sunday roast and it didn’t disappoint. Good sized portion, meat tender and plenty of vegetables. Service very friendly but you could see they needed more staff as it was busy, so we had to wait slightly longer which was understandable. The was our second visit and we hope to come back again soon.

    Excellent Sunday lunch, the staff were very attentive. We had drinks in the garden beforehand which was great on a sunny afternoon.

    A lovely place to eat. Everything very comfortable from good soft chairs to noise level. The food was excellent, portions just right and a wonderful choice. Service excellent.

    Keeping it short, which seemed the restaurants theme. Manager shouting and swearing at staff, in italian and Spanish made us feel very uncomfortable, how staff didn't react is beyond me. He was not much better towards us. We were rushed throughout the meal, it was obvious that they wanted us out as they needed the table. Bill brought to us without asking. We were only 2 hours into 3 hour slot. Real shame, should have been a lovely Sunday afternoon.

    The food is prepared to an exceptional standard, and the service is consistently outstanding. All round a lovely afternoon.

    Judges is always a fantastic experience whether for a family dinner, the Sunday roast is excellent, or a romantic dinner for two..!! The staff are super welcoming and friendly and always attentive throughout the meal.! Can highly recommend Judges..!!
