I really wanted to like Jubilee as it’s a neighborhood spot and have heard good things. The service was a bit slow but to be fair they were busy. Not much warmth or attentiveness from the staff overall starting with the host who hustled us to our table.
My steak tartare was fine, nothing to write home about. Wish it was a bit more spiced and less finely ground. My husband’s ribeye steak, although prepared medium rare was very stringy. Jubilee is not bad, but unfortunately nothing makes it stand out. It will sadly not become our go to local French spot.
We arrive wed. Night during the blizzard. The manager could not have been more accomdating and appreciative of our venturing out in the snow to keep our reservation. She was wonderful.
Excellent meal enjoyed by everyone!
great neighborhood restaurant for lunch/brunch or dinner
I've lived nearby for many years and was a great fan of the former location on 54th for many reasons - the food, the setting, the service and overall ambiance. The "new" location, not so much. The warm feeling, with the exception of the tables in the bar room, are totally misconceived and disjointed. There is a long narrow room which makes you feel that you are at a bus stop. The larger back room is way too bright and dominated by over scale hounds tooth upholstery.
However, there is good news! Their mussels are marvelous and worth a visit if that's your thing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED is the brunch menu. At $30.50 which includes 3 Mimosas or 3 Bloody Mary's, a delicious salad or a nice slab of liver pate and a choice of over 10 entrees.
I can't recommend it for dinner, except the mussels, but the brunch is a great deal..
The space is indeed larger and the food is excellent. But the decor is a little tired and stuffy. Otherwise, the larger space is a vast improvement over the old location.
We had the cassoulet and the grand mariner soufflé - both were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was very calm and pleasant. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC.
Since it was lunch and not dinner, it was nicely quiet. The service was friendly and prompt.
Great Valentine dinner. Never disappoints’
I have been to the restaurant many times because it offers honest price for an honest food and drinks. The tables are not too close to each other and you can talk.
Always great mussels in a quiet and charming environment where you can actually have a real conversation. Jubilee is our go to place for date night.
We went for their pre-theatre prix fixe and it was lovely. Excellent service and food and an incredible price for a meal with a glass of wine before a show. Really started our evening perfectly. Very cosy and romantic. Would highly recommend.
Always just perfect.
Overall great experience very good staff and great food.
Our waiter was very helpful in choosing a great bottle of wine at $55.
Foies gras and coq a vin were excellent !
I love the food and service at Jubilee, the only reason it didn't get a perfect rating is that the service is just a little slow. For a business lunch it took 1 1/2 hours to finish and it won't always be convenient to get away for a lunch that will last longer than the hour allotted by the office.
It’s always fabulous. Onion soup was amazing. Mussels never disappoint. We live this restaurant.
We really enjoy dining at Jubilee. Very pleasant ambiance, friendly staff, food is delivered promptly. Excellent value and the branzino is out of this world.
Good food and service
We have been going to Jubilee for years when visiting NYC. This is our first visit to their new location. It corrected the only deficiencies in the original location. It is much quieter and thus easier to talk and the tables are separated sufficiently so that you are not part of the neighboring table's discussion. Food was great! And ,service outstanding.
Went for dinner with sister and nephew (22) - place is quiet and cozy and the service was great. All our meals were very tasty, wine was excellent and desserts delicious. We would definitely go back and recommend to friends. Very relaxing evening
Jubilee is a reliable favorite that never disappoints. Excellent french/mediterannian fare in quiet, charming setting. Good value for the quality, especially with the pre-fixe.
Had a 730 reservation for 2 on a Sunday night which I made the evening before. I tried to change it the day of to three but they weren’t accommodating at all. They told me they could seat me an hour later to change but i couldn’t do it. Then 5 minutes before, they told me they could do a half hour before... again not good for us. Then we ended up waiting a while for our table. I live in the neighborhood and like the food a lot but would think twice about choosing them as far as their lack of flexibility.. it was only a one person change.
Very good mussels.
Service very good.
Very relaxed time.
Good brunch menu.
Always great and always delicious
Wonderful, as always.
Excellent as always
Everything we ate was delicious. On Monday there is a prix fixe all evening- made the meal a better value for what we would have eaten anyway. Enjoyed everything. The muscles provencale are fabulous if you are a garlic lover.
We had a wonderful time, service was great, dinner & dessert were delicious!!
Nice atmosphere, appetizers were delicious...we had fish soup, onion soup and the pate.
All recommended! Scallops over orzo , the ravioli, and steak...all perfect!
The carrot cake was as well, very very good.
Warm reception, excellent service, quiet table for conversation, like eating at a club or in a private home, typical French bistro menu with great variety and skilled preparation. An all together lovely evening. Gave us a quiet table as we had requested.
Soup and Mussels were both excellent. Loved the ambiance and décor but it was a little on the quiet side
Food was very good.
A generous brunch menu.
Would certainly return.
Very nice place with good food friendly service, the only reason I didn't give 5-stars is because this is just below the level of the snobby ones in the area of decor, ambiance, and service. The food portions are generous, well dressed, and excellent tasting.
Usually enjoy our dinner there but the rib eye steak was very disappointing. Very tough and tasteless
LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!! An all time nyc fav. First time having pre theater....they had us in and out, great value, ceasar salad disappointing but steak frites and moules delicious as well as profiteroles. Outstanding service!!! One of my all time favorites!!
This is our go-to neighborhood favorite. We have spent the last 5 New Years Eves here as well. The food is consistently delicious and the service attentive. My only suggestion is to play a selection of music that is more in keeping with a quiet dining experience.
Excellent local country French restaurant. Great food, moderate price and consistent.
They never rush customers out, a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
50th anniversary. Delicious dinner. Wonderful service. Couldn’t have been nicer. I highly recommend the coq au vin. My husband loved his escargot and scallops. Our new favorite French restaurant !
Good food and service. We loved the bronzino entree and the tuna and salmon tartare appetizer. Also a good choice of desserts and a nice wine list too
Excellent food and service was more than attentive
